THE DAY STARTED OFF with a perfect sunrise, but it wasn't the best way for Ru Heiji to start her day because her body was aching and it felt like something sharp just stabbed her head. She winched in pain then looked around to see where she was.
She was quite surprised to find herself laying properly in her own bedroom because the last thing she remembered was; she was drunk and was walking alone on the streets. How could she come home without even remembering anything.
As she sat down on her bed, a man who she claimed as her best friend since 4th grade showed up. "Taehyung?" She asked in confusion. "How did you get in? And how did I end up here?" She shot him with questions.
Taehyung, who had a tray of a bowl of porridge and a glass of plain water heaved a sigh before putting the tray on the small desk beside her bed. "You were drunk last night, don't you remember?" He asked. Taehyung was the type of a friend who cares about others. So he was worried seeing Heiji's condition.
"Yeah I know that I was drunk last night, but how did I end up here? I didn't remember walking home."
He looked at her until she finished talking. "I don't know how am I supposed to know about that. But I found you sleeping in front of your door so I took out your house key from your handbag and carried you in." He explained the details that he knew.
"I slept in front of my own door without getting in?!" She because she couldn't believe that she could be that dumb.
Taehyung shrugged. "I don't know, but as soon as I saw you, I carried you in. You should be grateful for having me as your friend." He mumbled his last sentence then handed her a glass of water. "Just eat the porridge first then take a bath. Maybe you'll slowly remember what happened last night. I hope nothing bad happened to you." He chuckled then walked out from her room.
He closed the door behind him then heaved a sigh before taking out a silver bracelet with a small broken heart charm attached to it. Thinking, he mumbled something, "This is not Heiji's. If it's not hers, then whose is this?" He asked while taking a closer look of the bracelet.
"Hey, where are you going? Practice? Already?" Heiji asked Taehyung who was about to go out from her house with his big backpack. He turned back to look at her who was still in her nursing dress and a messy bun then let out a small chuckle.
He lifted up his backpack then carried it with his shoulders. "Well, they're going to choose the new inspector soon so I have to work hard." He was talking about his dream position as a cop. He had worked as a cop for 2 years now and he had been wanting to be an inspector since forever. It was his dream position since he was 9.
Heiji smiled. "You're working too hard, don't forget to get a rest." She reminded him.
"Sure, I have to go now, see you soon."
She watched him walking out from her house then locked the door. When she turned back to go to the dining table, she suddenly spotted the silver bracelet that Taehyung was holding earlier. He was supposed to keep it but he forgot to take it with him. She furrowed her brows then lifted up the bracelet from the table to have a better look. "Why does this bracelet look familiar to me?" She mumbled to herself while trying to remember where did she see this bracelet.
"I think I saw this bracelet yesterday— wait, does this belong to—" she remembered everything now.
"Dammit." She remembered that a guy gave her a ride home after she begged him. She also remember when she accidentally threw up on his jacket on their ride home. She quickly covered her mouth with her hand then sat on the floor while looking at the bracelet. "Omg, did I take his bracelet too? Oh God, why did I act like that." She felt so terrible of herself that she couldn't even go out at the moment because she was afraid that she might meet the guy again.

I hung my jacket that I've washed earlier outside of my house, right under the bright sunlight so that it can dry quickly. The girl that I gave a ride yesterday threw up on my jacket and turned out that it was my favourite ones. Yesterday was almost perfect but she ruined it.
I didn't even know why did I even think of helping her when I could just leave her by herself on the street yesterday. Did I lost by her cry? Stupid me. I sighed then looked at the time. I still had an hour before meeting my client to give him the thing he wanted. He hired me to steal it from the government and offered me a good price so I agreed to do that for him.
Looking at the case, I put it on my lap then gently caressed it. It was all because of the politics. They probably hired me because in this case contains the information about the government's plans and policies that they wanted to know. But gladly I wasn't interested to know about so I put it back on its place and went into my room to get ready.
8:59 a.m.
I saw a guy in black leather jacket, sunglasses, cap and black jeans. I scoffed silently at how childish he was acting. He approached me then looked around. "Do you bring it?" He asked.
Rolling my eyes, I looked at him up and down. "Can't you just dress normally? People will get suspicious when you're dressing like this. We're not in a movie," I shook my head then straightened my back.
He glared at me. "This is how I dress. Stop complaining."
I scoffed before showing him the case in my hand. "So this item belongs to," I looked at him and waited for him to say his name.
A sly smirked started decorating his mischievous face as he was excited to get the case. "Min Yoongi," he answered with his eyes plastered on the case I was holding. His said his name correctly.
But it wasn't enough till he gets the case. "Tell me the secret code." I added.
"CKYJM00942, Purple leaf." The code was correct. I nodded then gave him the case.
"It has everything you need. Open it when you get home and text me if anything is missing." I told him who got so overwhelmed having the case in his hands.
He nodded, "Sure, it's nice working with you. I hope we can work together again in the future." He smiled.
"Make sure you have a good amount of money to offer me or else, I won't be interested."
"I only offer good money, don't worry." He smirked before we slowly leaving the spot before getting caught.

They stood there seriously, the environment was filled with tenses and pressure as they were discussing about arresting the wanted villain. Taehyung breathed, before looking at another cop who was standing beside him. "Three cops were success to detect him and chased him but they missed him, Sir." He reported.
The older cop sighed then folded his arms. "How could he went missing all of the sudden? Didn't you guys follow him?" He asked the trio cops who were meant to catch him. They already called the police station to send more support because they knew that their target was very tricky and professional in escaping himself in any situations. But the support came too late.
"I don't know Sir, he went into a small isle with his bike and we followed him. But it ended up was a dead end with a big wall blocking the way. We have no idea how did he escape. His bike was also missing which means he has a secret way to escape from there. Besides, I already told Yeojun to shoot him, but he didn't." He was trying to put the blame on another cop.
The cop named Yeojun lowered his head, knowing that he'd get scolded. "You know that he's the most wanted target, right? Why didn't you shoot him?" The old cop asked fiercely, anger was heard in his voice.
"I—" he lost his words.
"That was your job. You knew that he's very tricky. You should've just shot him at the first place. Do you want me to transfer you to another department? I don't think that you can be a good cop," he threatened him.
He looked at him with his pupils became smaller. "But, Sir." He lowered his head.
Taehyung pitied seeing him getting scolded by the old cop because he was only a new cop who was lack of experience. He sighed then tried to calm the cop down. "I'm sorry to interrupt, Sir. But Yeojun is only a new cop and I believe that he'd do better in the future if we train him better. Please forgive him this time." He stood up for him. Yeojun looked at him then back to the senior cop.
He almost had tears in his eyes.
The old cop sighed. "Do you think you can train him to be a good cop?" He looked into Taehyung's eyes.
"I will train him to be a good cop, Sir." He answered confidently.
He sighed. "Alright then, now he's your responsibility. Make sure he becomes a good cop in the future." He said before leaving the meeting room.
Taehyung looked at him who was standing behind him then patted his back. "Are you okay? Wanna have a talk?" He asked.
The boy who was in his early twenties looked into his eyes for a few seconds before nodding his head.
Taehyung brought the new cop to the pantry to have a quick talk session with him. "Have a seat," he told him and the both of them sat across each other.
After they had sat properly and Taehyung think that the boy was ready enough to talk, he poured a cup of hot tea and handed it to him. "Mind if I ask you something?" He asked.
He nodded, giving him the permission to ask him anything. Taehyung breathed, "Why didn't you shoot him?" The boy looked up at him after taking a few sips of the tea. He was still feeling nervous but he hid it well.
"You know that he is very wanted, right? He stole the government's data and our country is in danger if he sells it to outsiders." He explained softly yet so firm.
"Have you heard about the murder that happened a few days ago?" He added and Yeojun nodded his head as response. "If you really know what happened, then can you tell me about it?" He asked since all the cops are told to know everything about the country's situation and he was testing the boy's alertness.
The boy sighed and started fidgeting with his thin fingers. "An old man was murdered in Seoul." He answered.
"And?" Taehyung asked because it wasn't the answer he wanted to hear.
"His heart was taken out and replaced with a broken glass." He finished his sentence. "It's the most tragic murder that have ever happened in Korea." He added.
Taehyung nodded. "Yes, and the murderer is surely fearless for having the urge to do something no one has ever done." He stated. "Our team comes with a conclusion that the guy who stole the government's data and the murderer is a gang because they're the first people who are brave enough to do something like that."
Yeojun listened to his words carefully. "But," he spoke while looking into Taehyung's eyes. "What if they're the same person?"
They looked at each other for a pretty minute before Taehyung broke the eye contact. "You came with the same conclusion as me." He told him.
"But it's impossible for a person to do such a crime in just a few days apart. The inspector said that it's impossible for the murderer to do two jobs at the same time. It might leave him some trauma or effects on him after he murdered his target so he might need time to recover so he believes that the ones who stole the data and the murderer is a two different person. But we had to arrest one of them to get the another. That was why we really needed him. We put so much hope on you to shoot him yesterday. But you lost him."
Yeojun bit his lower lip in guilt. "I'm sorry." He apologised although he knew that a sorry wasn't enough to cover his mistake.
Taehyung sighed looking at his junior. "Well, everyone makes mistakes so you're forgiven this time. Just make sure to never repeat the same mistake again, okay? Being a cop isn't easy. You have to be dry hearted and strong enough to shoot your target without having any guilts, okay?" He tried to advice him before realising that there was something wrong when he mentioned about shooting the target.
He furrowed his brows. "What's wrong?" He asked and Yeojun looked up at him with some tears in his eyes. He had been holding his tears since they were in the meeting room so he couldn't hold it anymore.
"Actually, the reason why I didn't shoot him was because—"
"My dad is dead because he was shot rapidly while doing his work. So everytime I hold a gun, I feel terrified."
That moment, Taehyung lost it as he realised that Yeojun wasn't a loser, but he was a person with trauma.
"I'm trauma of hearing gunshots."
Trauma isn't something we can take lightly.
It is the response to a deeply distressing or disturbing event that overwhelms an individual's ability to cope, causes feelings of helplessness, diminishes their sense of self and their ability to feel a full range of emotions and experiences. It does not discriminate and it is pervasive throughout the world.
That was why he didn't shoot. It reminded him of his dad.
"That stupid jerk really did that?" Jimin scoffed while talking to the person on the phone. He was at the workshop, waiting for the workers to finish doing his new plate number for his bike. The cops had definitely recognised his plate number so he needed a new one.
The workshop was located nearby a park so he decided to talk a short walk while talking to his friend. Suddenly, he spotted that there were two women having a hard time arguing with a man.
"Another game hm?" He mumbled to himself.
"Hey, I think I have to go now. Talk to you later." He said to his friend before ending the call.
"Hey, what's wrong ladies?" He asked as he walked towards the two ladies who were in their early thirties and looked at the old bald man who was around 53 years old. He had a naughty smirk on his face until Jimin showed up.
He rolled his eyes in annoyance as he hated the fact that Jimin was interrupting him. "I was about to have fun until this little boy shows up acting like a hero," he scoffed then put both of his hands on his waist.
Jimin heard what he said. "Are you sure that I'm a hero?" He asked. "I think it's more like a villain." He smirked in the hottest way. He looked back at the two women behind him and asked them, "Do you know who this guy is?"
With fear in their eyes, they shook their heads. "No, we don't know him. He's trying to touch us." One of the women told him the real situation.
Knowing what was happening, he looked back at the old man. "Trying to touch women, hm? Didn't your mom teach you how to treat women when you were young, uncle?" He mocked him and stepped forward.
"How dare you lil piece of—"
A big punch was thrown into his face before he could even finished his sentence. Jimin looked at the two women behind him and signalled them to run away. "Don't ever talk to me like that." He scoffed.
