Chapter 17: Goodbyes and Surprises
AN: This is nowhere near the end of being written. There is still some stuff to come after. Brace yourselves for another chapter! :)

Camille sighed as she rolled her luggage through the airport. Ever since she woke up this morning she had been fighting off a waterfall of tears. The closer she got to security, the harder it was to keep a good hold on her resolve.
As she got closer to the gates, she quickly veered off toward a coffee kiosk. A lame distraction to put off having to pass through the gates that would bring her closer to her own personal hell. As she ordered her coffee from the kiosk, she wondered why her parents had allowed her to fly commercial instead of privately. Probably too busy flying in suitors. She mentally grumbled before taking her coffee and blowing it off lightly to cool it down. After a few minutes of standing off to the side and gulping down coffee, she tossed it in the bin.
Her attempts to coax herself to the gates were thwarted again when she saw several figures running at a break-neck speed toward her. The hosts were out of breath as they reached her, some bending over and heaving. "You guys? What are you doing here?" Her voice was laced with concern and confusion as she looked at them with a baffled expression.
Honey bounced around her while waving Usa-Chan like he was unaffected by the running. His training in the dojo and the added effects of sugar having fueled him it seemed. "You didn't think we would let you leave without saying a proper goodbye. Did you Cam-Chan?!"
Camille started laughing softly,"You guys ran here to tell me goodbye? I thought we already said our goodbyes." She had been hoping to skip a tear-jerking goodbye like this one was likely going to be and had hastily said goodbye after school on her last day before running off.
"You never let us say what we needed to. You ran off before we could." Hikaru and Kaoru said in unison after recovering from their hunched over positions. They walked up to give her a hug that shocked her into blushing a deep crimson.
Blaming the blush on the rush of sugar and caffeine she had previously guzzled down, Camille hugged them back. "Thank you all for coming to tell me goodbye."
The rest of them joined in the hug. Well, everyone joined in that had shown up. Upon looking at all her friends' faces, she saw one missing out of the bunch. A saddened feeling settled in the pit of her stomach as she shut her eyes to savor the hugs she did get.
"I know we're not exactly the best of friends, but I am sad you are leaving Camille-Senpai." Haruhi said, her voice cracking a bit. Since they were not in school, the underclassman had chosen to finally take her nagging advice and dress in a loose-fitting teal blouse with white capri pants. The outfit was adorable on her and it caused her to smile a bit as she committed the small achievement to memory.
The hug was broken and she found herself biting her lip as Mori and Honey came forward. Honey teared up and hugged her again,"I'm going to miss you Cam-Chan! We got you this stuffed panda to remind you of us and to keep you company on the way home." He said before pulling back and taking the bear from Mori. As it was thrust into her hands, Camille noted that instead of the traditional black and white colors of a panda they had gotten one that was a pastel green with darker green accents.
She hugged the panda with a sad smile before ruffling Honey's hair affectionately,"Thank you both. I think I'll call her Maki-Chan and always keep her on my bed with me." She looked at the rest of them and felt tears finally spilling down her cheeks freely. "Thank you all for being my friends. Even if I was too stubborn at first to show I appreciated it. I'll be writing you often and will come back for visits whenever I can. Maybe you guys can come see me when you get the chance. I can take you on some adventures of my own."
They all smiled sadly at her before she turned to grab her luggage, rolling it toward the gates. In her free arm was Maki-Chan peeking back at them as she swallowed back her remaining tears. Her last thought before entering through security was, Where the hell is Kyoya? Why wasn't he there?

Camille pulled herself out of bed a few days later and got dressed in a mint green long-sleeved shirt that fell off one shoulder. A dark green dancing panda graced the front of it and made her smile a bit as she remembered Honey and Mori giving her Maki-Chan whom she had slept in bed with every night since then. She had even started carrying it around when she felt sad. Her bottoms were a pair of cut-off denim shorts and mint green stockings that covered her legs up to just above her knees.
Her maid had been in to tell her that she had something downstairs waiting for her. Curiosity had gotten the best of her after laying there for ten minutes wondering what it could be and why the maid could not have brought it up to her. Now she was practically running down the stairs to figure out what it was. During her extreme running at a high speed, she slipped on the carpeted stairs, sliding on her butt to the bottom on the last few steps. At the bottom she landed with a thump and groaned in pain before rubbing her butt as she stood up.
After a few moments of whining about her clumsiness, she found herself walking toward the sitting room where her maid had told her the parcel was waiting. Hesitation brought her steps to a slow crawl before she rounded the corner of the doorway only to stop dead in her tracks as she looked around with wide red-brown eyes.
Every inch of the room was covered in vases of different colored roses. It was like a rainbow and a bunch of flowers had babies then exploded all over the room. It was that colorful and fragrant that she found herself dumbfounded.
When she got over the initial shock, she stepped forward to pick up a lavender card laying on the table in the center of the room. Her hands were shaking as she flipped it open to find a simple note inside. Beginnings are beautiful and I hope these roses can symbolize a beautiful new beginning. I look forward to seeing you and possibly creating a new beginning together. The card was not signed, much to her displeasure.
Who would do such a bold and sweet gesture? The only thing she could think of was that it was one of the suitors that her parents had picked out for her. It caused her to frown slightly, but something was familiar about the card itself that left her hoping.

AN: I know it's not the best place to stop, but I want to keep an air of mystery to this. I'm already writing the next part! It should be on the way much sooner than this one was compared to the last. Can you guess who sent the flowers?
