Chapter 14: Wait..What?!

Camille found herself situated next to her mother at the table. Her red-brown eyes flicked subtly from one to the other while she played with the hem of her clothing. Waiting on one of them to finally speak up. To shatter the silence that hung in the air between the three of them that was thick enough to be cut with a knife.

A sigh came from her father, drawing her attention to him sharply. "I know that the months after your brother's death have been hard on you and they have been hard on us as well. It is good to hear you speaking again, but I'm sure that it had nothing to do with us due to you being gone. Now that you are speaking again and we had decided on a plan...We would like you to come home."

She bit into her lip hard as she heard his last words. He wanted her to come home to be with them again. She was expected to leave her school, her home, and her friends once more just to do as they say. "With all due respect, I would much rather stay where I am. I would like to graduate there and then come home. I already left one school behind and it wouldn't look good for me to switch back. Especially in the middle of the semester."

"You will finish the semester and you will come back here. That is the end of this matter." Her mother said in a cold tone next to her, earning a look from her father. He knew the thin line they were walking right now, but her mother did not care. "Upon coming home you will be meeting potential candidates for engagement. Your brother was to take the head of the company, but your fiance will be trained to take his place. This is very important."

"You can't be serious!" Camille exclaimed in both shock and anger. Her eyes flicked over to her father only to find that he was silently agreeing. "You've got to be kidding me! You want me to come home to be married off to someone I don't even know. To leave behind my friends who have done more for me than you guys have since Cameron passed away. You want me to go back to the school I left behind to get away from the looks of pity." Her eyes shot between the two of them as she slammed her hands down on the table and then looked down as she stood up. "I will not! I'm not going through with this and if you really love me, then you will not do this to me!"

She felt tears leaking from her eyes before she could even feel the sting of them. She cracked her eyes open to fixate them on her parents before she let out a scream of frustration, causing them both to jump. Her mother gritted her teeth and looked away while her father looked down in his lap like he was sad.

"I hate you both. I'm leaving. I'm getting the next flight back to Japan and I'm not coming back." She said in a suddenly calm tone as the tears streamed down her face. Her teeth contacted her lower lip again as she turned and started to leave the dining room.

"If you leave, we will cut you off. We will not support you any longer." Her mother's voice sounded deadly as she threatened her last remaining child. This caused Camille to squeeze her eyes shut tightly before flinging open the doors and running out. Before she knew what she was doing she found herself in her room and crying into her pillow in loud sobs. The same sobs that mimicked the ones she had let loose when she lost her other half. Her brother.

Camille stayed her parents until they allowed her to go back home a few days later. She said nothing to them the rest of the time she was there and only left her room to see Cameron's grave. She had sobbed while clutching it for two hours before the driver had told her that her father requested her before she left. He had expressed his sympathy toward the situation she was in, but she had let it go in one ear out the other.

Now she found herself walking down the hall in school, clutching her bag in her hands as she kept her eyes downcast. That ugly yellow dress she wore was something she had grown fond of and now she was going to miss putting it on every morning. She was going to miss going to class with Tamaki and Kyoya, no matter how infuriating they were.

She found her seat in the back of the room and looked out the window after she situated her bag. The only thing that brought her attention back to the classroom was a light tapping on her shoulder. Red-brown eyes swiveling around to connect with bright purple ones. A smile was plastered on Tamaki's face as he looked down at her. "How are you feeling Camille? You were gone for a few days and we were afraid you were sick."

Camille regained her composure and looked down at her desk. "I'm sorry to worry you all. I went home to see my parents. They had something to discuss with me."

Tamaki blinked down at her, his happy smile sliding away as he grew curious. "It sounds important. Maybe you could tell me at the host club today?"

Her head shot up as she became surprised at him requesting her to join him. "It's not much to tell. I'll join you though. I think everyone needs to know. You will all find out eventually anyway."

"Alright! That settles that. I'll escort you after class to the club room and post a note saying we are cancelling activities. I feel like today is a good day for a meeting anyway." He sounded cheerful again, but she could see how his eyes still held curiosity and concern for her. She was about to say it was not necessary to cancel activities, but the teacher walked in to start class.

AN: I know it's short and I'm sorry, but I needed a transition between the two chapters. The next one is going to be a big one!
