CHAPTER 37

"I-IMPOSIBLE..." 'Yon ang lumabas sa bibig ng pang-apat na Arkhon matapos magpakilala ni Happy. Hindi makapaniwala ang titig nito sa kanya habang umiiling pa. "No... Dominick would never let his beloved daughter enter this life... impossible..."

Napuno ng bulungan ang buong bulwagan pagkatapos ng pagpapakilala ni Happy. Nakita niya ang gulat sa mukha nina Chaos, Draco at Daemon. Ang paghanga at pagmamalaki sa mga mata ni Blaze at ang kaguluhan sa mukha ng lahat na naroon.

Matalim ang mga matang humarap siya sa ikaapat na Arkhon habang pahigpit nang pahigpit ang hawak sa latigo na nasa kamay niya. "Is my insignia not enough? Do you want to challenge my authority? Or do you want me to introduce myself again?"

You may be the fourth Arkhon but your decisions are not welcome anymore."

Akmang magsasalita pa sana ang ama ni Knight nang gumalaw ang kamay niya para ihampas ang dulo ng latigo sa harap ng paanan nito. "It was against the Organization's law... to hold someone captive just because you want to control your son. It's a crime and you will pay for it."

Malakas na tumawa ang pang-apat na Arkhon. "And you actually think you can punish me? You." Tumawa ito nang nakakainsulto. "You're just a girl, inexperienced in this field. You think you can run the Organization? Think again! You are nothing but a worthless brat!"

Happy lips thinned. "You committed a crime against the Organization," Sinulyapan niya si Valerian na inaalalayan nina Knight at Shun na makatayo. "You hurt an innocent for your gain." Nagtagis ang mga bagang niya. "You exploited other people's weaknesses so they would do your bidding. I won't let you hurt a single soul no more. I will make an example of you, to remind everyone the reason what this Organization is standing for."

"And what is that?" the fourth Arkhon spatted.

"To bring peace," sagot niya sa kalmadong boses. "Maybe you have forgotten that. But these people..." Iminuwestra niya ang malayang kamay sa mga miyembro ng Organisasyon na kanina lang ay naglalaban-laban. "These people are here to help bring peace, for the best interest of all, to help save innocent lives. Don't take it away from them. Don't take away the reason why they're here."

Ngumisi ang pang-apat ng Arkhon. "You are a weakling. If you want peace, prepare for war."

She nodded. "I am prepared to go to war, but not against my own people."

Humakbang ang pang-apat na Arkhon palapit sa kanya pero ihinampas niya ang latigo sa harapan ng paa nito dahilan para mapatigil ito sa paghakbang at pinanlisikan siya ng mga mata.

"I will talk to the other Arkhons concerning your crimes, because I want to show fairness that you don't actually deserve. For now, you will rot in the dungeon." Nilingon niya sina Chaos at Draco. "Seize him. Pick the dirties cell."

Walang pag-aalinlangan na tumango ang dalawa at hinawakan ang magkabilang braso ng Arkhon.

"Let go of me! You're beneath me!" sigaw ng pang-apat na Arkhon. "I said let go of me! Knight, help me here! Knight!"

Hindi niya pinansin ang pagwawala ng ikaapat na Arkhon, humarap siya kay Knight na walang pakialam sa ama nito at kay Shun na ngayon ay katulong na si Blaze na gumagamot kay Valerian.

Blaze was trying to stop the bleeding.

"Go," sabi niya sa tatlo na tumutulong kay Valerian. "Save him."

"There's an infirmary on the second floor," imporma ni Knight.

Tumango sina Shun at Blaze at akmang aalis na ang mga ito nang marinig niya ang boses ni King mula sa direksiyon ng elevator.

"Y-Your Highness."

Mabilis silang tumingin sa gawi ng elevator at nanlamig ang buo niyang katawan nang makita si King na nakatayo roon. Sa likuran nito ay may lalaking nakatutok ang hawak na baril sa likod ng ulo ni King.

"No one makes a wrong move," sabi ng lalaki na nasa likuran ni King. "I only want my master." Sinulyapan nito ang ikaapat na Arkhon na ngayon ay nakangisi na. "My master in exchange for this man's life."

"Orlando..." sambit ni Knight habang nakatingin sa lalaking may hawak ng baril sa ulo ni King. "He's my father's hippeis."

"I want my master! Now!" Ipinagduduldulan ni Orlando ang dulo ng baril sa likod ng ulo ni King na kalmado lang na nakatayo. "Or I will blow his head off... in front of you."

Nagtatagis ang mga bagang na nilingon niya ang ikaapat na Arkhon na hawak pa rin nina Chaos at Drako. Kung kanina ay nagwawala ito, ngayon ay nakangisi na na parang nanalo na.

This bastard did win. Tonight. His hippeis had her butler at gun point and she would not do anything that could harm King. This old man knew that.

"Your move, second Arkhon?" Nang-iinsulto ang uri ng boses na gamit nito. "It came as a surprise to me that your father performed a rite of passage for you, but sorry to burst your inexperienced bubble, but I always have a back-up plan. Happy smiled back, still calm even when her inside was boiling with fury. "Thank you. Don't worry, we'll see each other again, and when that time comes, be ready. Because this whip I'm holding, I'll make sure to give you hell with this..." Her smile sweetened. "Okay?"

Nanlisik ang mga mata ng ikaapat na Arkhon. "You think I will let you get away with this?!"

Umiling siya. "No, of course not. Hindi ka naman siguro tumanda para lang maging bobo. I know you have a plan, and I do too. And I promise you, the next time we met, I will show you no fairness and there will be no mercy."

Tumaas ang sulok ng mga labi nito habang naglalakad palapit sa hippeis nito. "You're just a girl second Arkhon, and I can see it in your face, you cannot kill."

"Yes. I can't, but I know a lot of men who can," nakangiti pa ring sabi niya.

The fourth Arkhon tsked before entering the elevator. Itinulak naman ng hippeis nito si King at mabilis na sumakay sa elevator.

King looked at her and then at Blaze with shame in his eyes. "I'm sorry, Your Highness. I didn't mean to get kidnapped. It's me or your friend, Yrozz, I picked myself since he's more important to you."

Umiling si Blaze, saka akmang magsasalita nang bigla na lang manlaki ang mga mata nito. Ganoon din ang naging reaksiyon niya nang makitang kinalabit ng hippeis ng ikaapat na Arkhon ang gatilyo ng baril nitong nakatutok kay King bago sumara ang elevator!

Everyone froze but not Blaze. He ran towards King to push him away from the bullet.

"Blazey!" puno ng takot niyang sigaw nang makitang ito ang tatamaan ng bala.

King fell to the ground, while Blaze was standing on King's feet while clutching his bleeding side.

Blaze grimaced as he wobbled on his feet. "Fuck..." He looked at King. "How many times do I have to take a bullet for you, you jackass?" He grimaced again. "Fuck—this hurt."

Mabilis na binitiwan ni Happy ang latigong hawak, saka nilapitan si Blaze. Siya na ang sumapo sa tama nito para diinan 'yon.

Blaze coughed. "W-why do I always g-get shot?"

Dinaluhan siya ni King. Inalalayan nito si Blaze para hindi matumba sa pagkakatayo. Hanggang sa lumapit sa kanila ang isang lalaking kalalabas lang sa elevator na katabi ng elevator na ginamit ng ama ni Knight para makatakas.

Tumango ang dalawa at agad na umalis.

Si Daemon naman ang hinarap niya. "Can you take over, explain to them what happened?" She was referring to other members of the Organization. "And clean up this mess?"

Daemon nodded. "Yes, Boss."

Tipid niya itong nginitian. "Thank you, Daemon. And it's Miss Quinn, not Boss. Don't make me feel uncomfortable."

Daemon nodded with a small smile. "Yes, Miss Quinn."

Tumango si Happy at saka lang siya sumunod sa infirmary na nasa second floor.

Nang makarating doon, agad na tumuon ang tingin niya kay Blaze na inaasikaso na ng nagpakilalang doktor habang ang kasama nito ay inaasikaso naman si Valerian.

Happy felt so drain at that very moment as she slowly sat on the waiting area in the infirmary.

She couldn't help but to blame herself as she sat there, alone and thinking. May mali sa naging desisyon niya, sigurado siya. Bakit hindi niya nakita na babarilin ng hippeis ng ikaapat na Arkhon si King? Bakit hindi niya naisip 'yon?! Bakit ang tanga-tanga niya?! Bakit ang lambot niya?! Bakit pinakawalan pa niya ang ikaapat na Arkhon?! Bakit hindi niya nagawang ihampas ang latigo na 'yon sa matandang 'yon?!

Nanginginig ang nakakuyom niyang kamay habang tumatakbo ang mga 'yon sa isip niya... habang sinisisi niya ang sarili.

Natigilan lang siya nang umupo sa tabi niya si Knight.

"Don't beat yourself up," sabi nito.

"I'm not—"

"If there's one thing I'm good at, that's reading emotion on people's faces," sabi ni Knight, saka tumingin sa kanya. "Bago ka pa lang, tama si Dad doon. Wala ka pang masyadong kaalaman sa mundong 'to, wala kang gaanong karanasan kung gaano kagulo ang mundong pinasok mo. Pero nandito kami, ako, si Blaze, si King, aalalayan ka namin."

Happy looked down. "What if your father was right? That I'm just a girl who knows nothing about this world? Paano kung sa halip na maka-help ako, mapahamak ko pa kayo? Tulad ngayon?"

Knight tapped her knee. "Learn from your mistakes, Miss Quinn. Hindi madaling magdesisyon, lalo na't may ibang buhay na nakasalalay sa bawat desisyon na gagawin mo. Being an Arkhon is not just being a boss and a title, it's a responsibility and a duty that even the strongest men had failed to carry out. As for me, I don't care if you're a woman, having a heart and showing fairness is the reason why I choose you as my Arkhon. This organization needs someone like you who has guts to do what's right and was able to see what's wrong... That's the start."

Tipid niyang nginitian si Knight. "Thanks... for trying to make me feel better."

Sadness fell on his face. "Midnight would have done the same thing for his little sister if he's here."

Nanubig ang mga mata niya nang banggitin ni Knight si Midnight. "I miss him."

Knight's head hung low. "Me too."

"I hope he's in a better place."

"He will be," sabi ni Knight.

"I will find him," pangako niya.

Sa sinabi niya, napatitig sa kanya si Knight. "What do you mean you'll find him? You didn't know?"

She blinked. "Know what?"

Knight blinked at her before shaking his head. "Nothing..." Tinapik-tapik nito ang tuhod niya. "Stop blaming yourself for what happened tonight, I'd been there. It's not a good place to linger around. Accept your mistake, move on and learn from it."

Tumango siya. "Salamat uli."

Knight gave her a small smile before returning to Valerian and Shun's side.

Huminga nang malalim si Happy, saka napabaling kay King na siyang pumalit sa iniwang upuan ni Knight.

"King, hindi mo ginusto ang nangyari," sabi niya sa lalaki nang makita ang hitsura nito.

King whispered while staring at the floor. "He's hurt because of me. I promise myself that I will never fail you or His Highness... but I did. I'm not good enough. My father never endangered Master Dominick and Master Von Per... but I endangered you two."

Inabot niya ang kamay ni King, saka pinisil 'yon at humilig siya sa balikat nito. "You're more than good enough, King. Trust your Young Miss. And Blaze... I guess it's in his blood to protect both of us. Narinig mo naman 'di ba ang sinabi ng ama ni Knight? Our families are loyal to each other. Let's not prove him wrong. We stick together and let's do our job better."

King glanced at her. "How do you stay calm in all of this?"

"I'm not calm," pag-amin niya habang nakakuyom ang nanginginig niyang kamay. "I'm scared and worried and I'm very, very afraid of what's going to happen next. Pero ayokong makita 'yon ng iba. I'm the second Arkhon, King. I need to be brave and not show weakness. Maraming buhay ang nakasalalay sa akin ngayon. This heavy burden on my shoulder, I have to lift it with my head held high because I'm a Quinn and this is what Quinn does... until the first Arkhon returns."

"You can do it, Young Miss," pagpapalakas ni King sa loob niya. "I'm just here and I won't fail you again."

Pinisil uli niya ang kamay ni King. Pero bigla siyang tumayo nang makitang naglalakad palapit sa gawi niya ang nagpakilalang doktor at gumamot kay Blaze.

"Hi," sabi niya nang tumigil ang lalaki sa harap niya. "Is... is my fiancé all right?"

Bumaba ang tingin ng lalaki sa kamay niya. "I don't see any ring."

Happy smiled. "He's working on it."

Tumango ang kaharap, saka inilahad ang kamay sa kanya. "Emperor Khalid, fifth Arkhon. No, it's not a title. It's an actual name given by my parents who are on their right minds when they named me... I think..."

Nakangiting tinanggap niya ang pakikipagkamay nito. "Happy Aravena Quinn, second Arkhon. Nice to meet you and thank you for saving my fiancé."

Tumango ito. "You're welcome. He'll be okay, don't worry. By the way, thanks for dethroning that son of a bitch. I tried going against him when he started making shady decisions, but he threatened my family. I have to back down since his authority surpasses mine. Apparently, it's the rules."

Happy didn't know what to say so she just smiled.

Emperor smiled. "I'll leave you alone now. I can feel when I'm not wanted—"

"No... I'm sorry... it's just... there's a lot in my mind right now. Maybe we should talk some other time?" she offered. "Together with the seven bosses and the other remaining Arkhontes, maybe? Emperor nodded. "Send an invitation. I'll be waiting... actually, all of the remaining Arkhons are waiting after Knight informed us about your rite of passage."

"Thank you," sabi niya, saka tipid na ngumiti. "My butler will send the invitation."

Emperor nodded before handling her a blank glass card. "A month from now, an Arkhontes gathering will be held in Athens. You have to be there because the fourth Arkhon might show himself— if he still not caught because he is the one who wanted this gathering. Written there is the exact address," sabi nito na itinuro ang blangkong glass card, wala iyong sulat o kahit ano pa man na ikinakunot ng noo niya. "Bring your hippeis, butler and personal ultor for protection."

Tumaas ang dalawa niyang kilay sa huli nitong sinabi. "But I don't have a personal ultor."

"He will introduce himself to you, just wait."

Napatango-tango siya, saka itinaas ang glass card na bigay nito. "Thank you for this and for telling me about the gathering."

"No problem," sabi nito, saka namaywang at tinawag ang kasama. "Rex, come on, let's go. I'm a busy man."

Agad namang tumalima si Rex na hindi niya alam kung hippeis nito o butler.

"Thank you for coming, cous," sabi ni Knight kay Emperor. "I owe you."

Emperor dismissively waved his hand at Knight before leaving the infirmary. Siya naman ay lumapit sa kinahihigaan ni Blaze at hinaplos ang pisngi nito, saka hinalikan sa noo bago inayos ang kumot sa katawan nito.

"I love you," bulong niya, saka pinisil ang kamay ni Blaze bago lumipat sa kinaroroonan ni Valerian Volkzki. "Is he okay?" tanong niya kay Knight.

Bago pa makasagot si Knight, sunod-sunod na nagmura si Valerian na ikinatawa nina Shun at Knight.

"Yes. He is," nakangiting sabi ni Knight.

Shun faced her. "You were so cool earlier. You saved our asses back there."

She smiled. "Thanks."

"And very pretty too," dagdag ni Knight na nakangiti.

Mahina siyang natawa na agad na naputol nang marinig ang boses ni Blaze.

"F-fuck off! S-she's mine!"

Napailing si Happy, saka bumalik sa kasintahan at agad itong hinalikan sa mga labi nang makalapit siya. "I love you. I love you. I love you," sabi niya habang pinupupog ito ng halik sa buong mukha. "I love you."

Blaze automatically smiled before leaning in to claim her lips but end up grimacing because of his wound. "Fuck! This is all your fault, King..." Tiningnan nito nang masama si King na tahimik na nakatayo sa gilid ng kama pero agad na lumambot ang ekspresyon ng mukha nito nang makita ang hitsura ni King. "I mean, not really," bawi nito.

Napangiti siya. King looked like a lost boy and it got to Blaze. Well, Blazey is a softy.

"I'm sorry, Your Highness." King sounded so ashamed and so guilty. "I'm not gonna fail you again."

Blaze tsked. "Na-kidnap ka na noong una, dapat alam mo nang pagkatapos mong ma-kidnap at pinakawalan ka na, magtago ka agad kasi walang kidnapper na mabait." Blaze tsked again. "Bakit kasi hindi ka nag-aral na umiwas sa bala tulad ng sinabi ng lalaking nagligtas sa iyo noon nang ma-kidnap ka?"

Nakita ni Happy na natigilan si King at hindi makapaniwalang napatitig kay Blaze. "H-how did you know that he told me that when he saved me?"

"You told me," mabilis na sagot ni Blaze.

Umiling si King. "No... I didn't."

Blaze froze. "Oh."

King looked at Blaze in disbelief. "You knew that it was me and yet you pretended that you didn't?"

Blaze sighed. "What I did was no big deal. And yes, I remember. You have one of those annoying faces."

King let out a shaky laugh. "Fuck. I thought you don't remember me."

"Nah... I remember you," sabi ni Blaze, saka ipinikit nito ang mga mata habang bahagyang ngumingiwi. "But don't bring it up again please. I'm shy."

Happy chuckled and shook her head.

While King smiled and nodded his head at Blaze. "Thank you—"

"Oh, fuck, don't say it," putol ni Blaze sa pagpapasalamat ni King. "You want to thank me, leave me and my baby alone. Go. Go. Give is some fucking privacy."

Agad namang tumalima si King.

Napailing uli si Happy, saka umupo sa gilid ng kama. "He idolized you, you know." Alam niya ang kuwentong 'yon ni King pero hindi niya akalain na si Blaze pala 'yon. "Don't be too hard on him."

Blaze looked away. "I told you, I'm shy."

Natawa siya. "You're such a gago."

Blaze chuckled before he raised his voice to speak to Valerian and his friends. "Volkzki? You okay? I can hear you cursing. I assume you're okay now?"

"Fuck you!" sagot ni Valerian. "Fuck you all! Fuck! It hurts! Para akong binugbog ng isandaang katao! Mga gago kayo! 'Tang-ina! Animals!"

Knight chuckled. "Yep. He's still alive. Isusumbong kita kay Grace, nagmumura ka na naman."

"Oh, fuck you!" Valerian hissed at Knight. "After I'm all healed up, I'm going to kill you! This is all your fault!"

"I know, best friend. I know," sabi ni Knight sa mababang boses.

Valerian tsked at lumambot ang boses. "I have a cake in the house. I bought it for you from Nate before I got kidnapped. It's his new rainbow cake."

Knight immediately smiled, making Happy smiled too. It was like Valerian and Knight had a love and hate relationship. Men.

Ibinalik niya ang atensiyon kay Blaze. "How are you feeling?"

Blaze shrugged. "Still breathing."

Napailing siya. "Pinag-alala mo ako."

"I know." Blaze smiled softly at her. "I'm sorry. Promise, next time, I'll try not to get shot again."

Mahina siyang natawa habang masuyong hinahaplos ang pisngi nito. "I failed tonight. Hindi ko naipakulong ang ama ni Knight tulad ng plano. I'm sorry I failed you, Blazey."

Umiling ito, saka pinagsalikop ang kamay nila. "You were amazing tonight. When you showed them your insignia while gripping that whip was so cool... and you look so sexy and pretty and hot and I felt so proud because you're mine."

A smile appeared on her lips. "I'm pretty sure you got horny again?"

Walang pag-aalinlangang tumango si Blaze. "Yes. Very horny. Like fucking horny."

Malakas siyang natawa, saka hinaplos ang gilid ng labi nito. "Kapag all healed up ka na, date tayo? Gusto mo? Treat ko."

Humaba ang nguso ni Blaze. "Ayoko. May sahod na ako n'on kaya treat ko."

Happy chuckled. "Okay." Kapagkuwan ay ipinakita niya ang mga daliri dito. "'Yong doktor na gumamot sa iyo, siya ang panlimang Arkhon at hindi siya naniwala na fiancé kita kasi wala akong singsing. Kailan mo ako bibilhan?"

Umawang ang mga labi ni Blaze at parang nag-iisip ito habang nakatitig sa kanya. "Next year? Nakapag-ipon na ako no'n. Kailangang lampasan ko ang ten million mong key chain slash bottle opener. Hindi ako makakapayag na hindi ko 'yon malampasan."

Napailing siya. "So ano'ng sasabihin ko sa mga ayaw maniwala na may fiancé na ako? I have no ring kasi, eh. Gusto mo bawiin ko 'yong pag-yes ko, 'tapos balik tayo sa boyfriend and girlfriend? You just pressured me into saying yes after all—"

"Baby!" Blaze hissed at her. "I have a no return, no exchange, no surrender policy."

Natawa si Happy. "Ano ka, tindahan?"

"Oo. Tindahan ako na bukas lang para sa iyo."

Natawa uli siya. "That was lame."

Blaze grimaced. "Yes. I noticed."

Happy laughed again. "Thank you, for making me laugh. I need that. I feel better now."

Blaze shrugged boastfully. "What can I say, I'm your man."

Happy nodded while smiling from ear to ear. "Yes. You're my man."

Blaze smiled. "Good. Anyway, about that ring... I have something in mind. Give me a week?"

Umakto siyang napipilitang tumango. "Okay. One week. Kapag wala pang ring, balik tayo sa boyfriend and girlfriend."

Nalukot agad ang mukha ni Blaze. "As If I will let that happen. You're so mean."

Tinawanan lang niya si Blaze, kapagkuwan ay napabaling sa pinto ng infirmary nang may pumasok doong lalaki na naka-rugged jeans at itim na T-shirt.

And everyone inside the infirmary was taken aback when they saw the man's face covered in a black leather mask. Only the eyes and mouth were shown. And small holes for his nose so he could breathe.

But the most defining feature the man had that caught Happy's attention was his eyes.

It was mismatched.

Amber on the left and green on the right.

The two rarest eye colors in the world. Wow.

At natitigan iyon nang mabuti ni Happy nang tumigil sa harap niya ang lalaki at humarap sa kanya.

"I'm called Kane," pagpapakilala nito sa walang emosyong boses pero nababanaag niya sa boses nito na hindi nalalayo ang edad kay King. "I'm your personal ultor and from now on, wherever you go, I'll go, whatever you say, I'll do it."

Biglang tumikhim si Blaze. "I'm the hippeis, that's my job."

Kane looked at Blaze. "I'm also your personal ultor, wherever you go, I'll go, whatever you say, I'll do it."

Si King naman ang tumikhim. "That's my job."

Kane faced King. "I'm also your personal ultor. Wherever you go, I'll go, whatever you say, I'll do it."

Tumaas ang dalawang kilay ni King. "Go and get me a soda?" Nasa boses nito na parang sinusubukan lang kung susunod ang lalaki.

Kane actually nodded. "Give me five minutes," he said then he left.

Nagkatinginan silang tatlo.

"Wow..." Blaze sighed then spoke in sarcasm. "Another crazy member had been added to the group."

King smiled smugly. "And he's beneath me. Huh, take that!"

Napailing siya, saka bumaling kay Blaze. "Nakita mo ba ang eyes niya? They're so beautiful."

"Good." Blaze puckered his lips. "Kiss me? I miss your kisses, baby. Masakit din ang sugat ko. Your kisses can make me feel better... please..."

Bago pa siya mapilit ni Blaze na halikan ito, nakabalik na si Kane sa infirmary. May dala itong duffel bag na may lamang maraming klase ng soda.

After showing all the sodas to King, Kane looked at King. "You didn't tell me which one you prefer so I bought them all."

Lihim siyang napatango bilang pagsang-ayon sa sinabi ni Blaze kanina.

Indeed... another crazy one is added to the group.

She just hoped that this one was not a kid like Blaze and King.

She doubted it though... but a girl could hope.
