Chapter 11 ~ Going Back in Time

Scorpius' POV

The stars were glowing brighter and brighter as Albus and I continued walking through the Forbidden Forest. I was thinking of what we were about to do and how stupid and dangerous this plan was. I didn't know how Delphi convinced Albus that going back to save Cedric was a good idea, but he was determined to go through with this plan. I thought about our parents, knowing that they were probably worried sick about us.

As we continued walking, I was positive that I heard the sound of someone calling our names from a distance. I stopped walking and turned around, looking if I could see anyone.

"Did you hear that?" I asked.

"Hear what?" Albus replied.

I turned back around, facing Albus. "It sounded like someone just called our names," I said. "Do you think it's our parents?"

"I didn't hear anyone, Scorpius," Albus retorted. "Come on. Let's keep moving." He began to walk away from me.

I shook my head and looked back behind me one more time, making sure that no one was there. I caught up with Albus and strolled beside him, getting more and more anxious about this plan.

"And there it is," I announced.

"Yup," Albus said. "Hogwarts. Never seen this view of it before."

"Same here," I replied, chuckling a bit. "Still get a tingle, don't you? When you see it?" I waited for Albus to respond. When he didn't say anything, I continued talking. "From the moment I first heard of it, I was desperate to go. I mean, Dad didn't like it much there, but Mum did. She called Hogwarts her home, just like your dad did, Albus. But the way they described it to me, I wanted to go so bad. From the age of ten I'd check the Daily Prophet first thing every morning, certain that some sort of tragedy would have befallen it, certain that I wouldn't get to go."

"And you got there and it turned out to be terrible after all," Albus retorted in a bitter tone.

"Well, all I ever wanted to do was go to Hogwarts and have a mate to get up to mayhem with. You know, just like the Potter twins, and I got Harry Potter's son, who happens to be my cousin, because my mum is Harry Potter's sister. How fortunate is that?"

"But I'm nothing like my dad," Albus said. "And to be honest, no matter how many will disagree with me, you're nothing like Aunt Max."

"What does it matter? We're better than our parents, and you're my best friend, Albus, and this is mayhem to the nth degree, which is great, thumbs-up great. It's just...I've got to say...I don't mind admitting...I am a tiny bit...just a tiny bit scared."

Albus shook his head and smiled. "You're my best friend, too, and don't worry. I have a good feeling about this."

We were standing there for a moment when we heard Uncle Ron's voice from a distance. "Albus? Scorpius?"

"We've got to go," Albus told me, looking determined. He wrapped the Time-Turner around his neck, then around my neck. He looked up at me. "You ready?"

"Ready as I'll ever be," I answered.

With that, Albus turned the Time-Turner a few times, making it vibrate. Suddenly, we began to move around in circles. Everything around us was quickly turning into a bright light. And then...

WHOOSH!

Albus and I held hands as we closed our eyes and waited to see what happened next.

The hope that we wouldn't die doing this was all I could think when we fell down on the ground.

"Did it work?" I asked Albus, groaning as I sat up, rubbing my neck.

"I think so," Albus responded, standing up, smoothing out his Durmstrang robes. He came over towards me and pulled me up. "Come on. We've got to catch up with the other students before the tournament starts."

Albus and I headed out of the Forbidden Forest and headed towards the other students. We then followed the students from all three different schools as they headed down to where the first task was being held at. We found the other Durmstrang students and followed them.

"Wow, Hogwarts looked exactly the same in 1994," I commented. "I mean, I don't even know how that's possi--"

"Dad?" Albus cut me off.

I turned around to see a younger version of Uncle Harry walking past us down the hill with Cedric. When I looked up, I saw them. I also saw the younger version of my parents talking to each other. Then, some blonde woman approached them and said something, pushing them close together. Dad grabbed Mum's hand and looked into her eyes.

Mum was so beautiful.

"Dad and Aunt Max look so...young," Albus said, interrupting my thoughts.

"Well, of course they do. We're in 1994," I reminded him.

"Oh, right," he said as we continued walking, trying to catch up with them. "Wow, can you believe that? Dad and Aunt Max were only fourteen when they competed in the Triwizard Tournament. That must've been scary."

"Yeah, it probably was," I said. "We've got to hurry and get this over with. Come on."

So Albus and I headed down to the arena with everyone else. We scanned around for a good place to be at once Cedric came out to perform the first task. Finally, we found a good spot right by the Durmstrang students, which was a good thing since Albus and I would be able to blend in easier with the other boys from Durmstrang.

"Okay, now we just have to wait for Cedric to start the first task," Albus whispered.

I nodded my head, breathing heavily. This plan was making me more nervous by the second. I could feel my palms sweating as I began to fidget with my hands.

Suddenly, the girl in front of me turned around to face me. "If you're going to stand so close I'd rather you didn't breathe on me quite so much."

"Rose? What are you doing here?" I blurted out before realizing that she wasn't Rose. Stupid word vomit.

Hermione looked confused. "Who's Rose? And what's happened to your accent?"

"Sorry, Hermione. He's got you mixed up with someone else," Albus intervened, trying his best to sound like one of the Durmstrang boys, which sounded horrible.

"How do you know my name?" she asked Albus.

BOOM!

The sound of a cannon went off, making Hermione turn back around. Dumbledore came out to the arena, resulting in cheering coming from the crowd.

"Ladies and gentleman, welcome to the first task!" Dumbledore announced. "Today, the champions will be facing a dragon in order to retrieve a golden egg. The first champion to face their dragon, Cedric Diggory!"

All of the Hogwarts students cheered as loud as they could when Cedric was in sight. Albus had his wand ready. All of a sudden, I felt something shaking. I looked down at the Time-Turner.

"Albus, something is going wrong," I said in a concerned tone. "The Time-Turner, it's shaking."

The shaking grew more violent, then the ticking started. I had no idea what was going on with the Time-Turner, but the ticking sounded dangerous, not good at all.

I looked up to see how Cedric was doing with the first task. I could see Albus from the corner of my eye. He had a firm grip on his wand, ready to perform the spell Delphi taught him.

When it was time, Albus extended his wand out and shouted, "Expelliarmus!" Cedric's wand came flying out of his hand. He looked confused at what just happened.

"Albus, the Time-Turner...something is wrong..."

I grabbed Albus and watched as everything around me went white again. Suddenly, we were back in the Forbidden Forest. Albus began to scream in pain.

"Albus!" I shouted, running towards him. "Did it hurt you? Albus, are you--"

"What happened?" he questioned, cutting me off.

"There must be some kind of time limit on the Time-Turner," I answered.

"Do you think we've done it? Do you think we've changed anything?" Albus asked.

Then, coming from every direction, the adults appeared. Mum and Uncle Harry came from one direction. Dad, Uncle Ron, and Aunt Ginny came from another direction. I quickly slipped the Time-Turner into my pocket as Albus looked at everyone with a blank face.

"I think we're about to find out if we changed anything," I whispered.

"I told you! I told you I saw them!" Uncle Ron exclaimed to Aunt Ginny.

"Hello, Dad," Albus said to Uncle Harry, sounding slightly nervous. "Is something wrong?"

Uncle Harry looked at Albus disbelievingly. "Yes. You could say that."

All of a sudden, Albus collapsed onto the ground.

A/N: Well, I didn't think I'd get through this chapter, but I did!

Not gonna lie, this chapter was pretty hard to write since it was in Scorpius' POV, but at the same time I did enjoy writing it. :)

What did you think about Scorpius seeing his parents at 14 years old? I remember writing them when they were 14 in Two Times the Flame. Ahhh, memories. #throwback.

Dedicated to harmonyrules because she's awesome. Go follow heeeer! :)

Anyways, comment, vote, please?
