Chapter III
I don't own anything. I'm going to try to do 3rd person today, tell me which way you like better.
Percy POV
How long had he endured this? A week? A month? More? Percy had stopped counting the days a while ago. It was pointless. As pointless as counting the thousands of scars littering his body.
After all of Polybotes, and Jason's "visits", he didn't have much life left in him. Hope shattered, and his mind following, Percy had given up. He would scream when the pain began, and shivered when he heard the sound of the weapon being drawn. Earthquakes (or under-earthquakes) would constantly take place in the small cell, due to nightmares and memories. And neither Polybotes nor Jason seemed to be able to stop Percy from making the earth rumble.
"Good morning, Jackson." Jason greeted as he waltzed into the cell. Percy cowered against the wall, as if it could save him from the horrors to come. Unfortunately, it didn't do anything of that sort. He watched as Jason approached him, while unsheathing his imperial gold sword.
The son of Poseidon closed his eyes, and took a shaky breath. But that didn't stop him from hearing his torturer's foot steps echoing on the ground.
He felt breath on his face, and reluctantly opened his eyes. His broken sea-green gaze locked with Jason's blue ones, and the son of Zeus smirked.
"You were the famous one, Jackson." He started, playing his sword between his hands. "More powerful, stronger... so heroic." He gave a bitter laugh, and traced the blade down Percy's cheek, creating a thin cut in it's wake. He hardly reacted. "But look where we are now. This time its me. I'm most certainly in a more powerful position than you. Stronger? Well, let's just say I'm not the one who's chained to the wall. And heroic? Well..."
"You're better than this, Jason." Percy croaked. He hadn't used his voice for speaking in a while, and his voice was hoarse from misuse. But despite the conditions, Jason hesitated. But he quickly shook it off, and acted like it never happened.
"I've changed, Percy. And if you haven't noticed, so have you." He said, then stood back, admiring his handiwork on his prisoner. "Shall we start?" Percy didn't reply, and avoided his gaze. But Jason's spirits were not dampened. He shallowly stabbed the knife at Percy's temple, blood slipping from the wound. He whimpered quietly, fear in eyes. Then the blue-eyed demigod crouched down to his level. "I think its about time I brand my property, don't you think?" His eyes widened, and Percy scooted back, his back pressing hard against the wall. He knew what Jason meant. He had been expecting it to come for a while now.
Right on cue, Polybotes waltzed into the room. The trident shaped hilt of his sword shining in his belt. He smiled when he saw their captor. "Move over, Grace. My turn first." He gleefully walked over to Percy, and took out his sword. He moved down to him just like Jason before him, and poised his sword right under Percy's collarbone. "Don't worry, I'll take it slowly." He promised, and smiled, displaying the reminents of his last meal. The broken demigod screamed as the blade pierced his skin. The giant dragged it down slowly, then carved two lines against it. A "P". Then he laid his hand on the scar, and muttered an incarnation. Percy shrieked as Polybotes finished, and felt a sharp spasm of pain on the new scar. The giant smirked, and stepped aside for Jason. He held out the knife to his partner.
"I'll use my own, thanks.", Jason said as he sauntered forward, a twisted smile on his pale face. He held out his sword to Percy's sternum. Jason didn't fool around. He plunged the blade into Percy's flesh, causing a scream to erupt from his mouth, and blood from the wound. The blond jerked the sword to right, then slightly upwards. A J. He moved his hand over the new 'Brand' and shot a small bolt of lightning, which hit the J right on the tip. Percy thrashed around as a burning sensation hit his chest. Jason wiped some blood from his new letter, and smirked. "I think it suits you. What do you think, Polybotes?"
"I agree with the sky scum.", Polybotes said, eyeing the demigod proudly. "It makes you much more pleasant to look at." Percy just closed his eyes, and shrieked in mental anguish. Why did the gods hate him so much?
Jason snorted, as if reading the sea spawn's mind while Percy cracked an eyelid open. "If you had joined us in the first place, none of this would've happened, Jackson." But he didn't reply. Jason leveled Percy's head so he was looking his former friend dead in the eyes. "There's no point in ignoring me Perce. It's impossible to avoid me. And you won't till the end of your short, miserable, pathetic life." Percy groaned as the traitor kicked him in the ribs with every word. He heard his bones crack and bruises form where he was kicked seconds ago. For a huge jerk, Jason could kick pretty hard. Percy took a few heaving breaths as he tried to recover from the broken and bruised bones, but he didn't get a break before Polybotes stabbed him in the shoulder. Percy was lying on the ground now in extreme pain as Jason and the Giant had their fun.
"You're broken, Jackson. Useless." Jason stated as he delivered one final kick in Percy's gut. He turned on his heal, and began to walk away.
"I'd rather be broken than a traitor, Jason.", he called after him, his voice cracking. The son of Zeus stopped in his tracks. Percy swore that he was shaking, but Jason started moving again and slammed the door behind him as he left the cell.
