The masked man - 1

Author's notice:

Hei, guys. :)) Sorry if the text is strange in some places or I have some typos, it's because English is not my mother language and I'm still getting better and better at it. If you point out anything strange I will be very grateful for it. :) That's all I wanted to say, and of course I hope you like the story. I realise that the progression is a little slow, I want to make it psychological, that's why I go into details.

I don't usually write horror, but if I do, I want to make it a little bit sick. This will be a quite long story, with more storylines, not only this one, but they will only appear later in time. I will not tell you much about the murderer right now, but I hope you keep up and find out later. :)))

'What happened? Where am I? How did I get here?' all the most common questions after waking up in an unfamiliar place. Yet, these were exactly what Levi thought upon waking up.

The boy slowly opened his eyes. As his pupils zoomed on the grey, empty walls, like a miniature camera, he came to recognise the same grey room, he has seen before. The same cell, where he spent five days, bound to a chair.

"What happened?" his head hurt. Oh yes, the drug. It must have been the drug, making everything hazy. Why did the man drug him? Oh yes, maybe he paniced. Why? Oh yeah, he...

"No." Levi weakly shook his head. Should he finish that sentence? That wasn't his doing. They forced him. Blindly. He just...fought for survival. That's right. Flashes of the scene came to his mind. The lifeless, but still warm body, stabbed so many times, the open, glassy eyes... and the knife. And his hands, they were covered in red. Dripping. Like raindrops, when they first start to fall on the beginning of a rainy day. Drip....drop....drip...drop. Is it still on his hands? But, most importantly, he didn't do that. Not at all.

The boy tried to look, but he recognised the hands in question are still bound behind his back. "Fuck!" Levi couldn't help but shudder in fear, as he suddenly noticed the chair. Of course it's still there. Chairs can't walk. But can he?

The boy tried to move his legs. They weren't bound. Just the hands. He sat up slowly, and took a look around. Oh god, his head hurt so much.

Was it a dream? A wake dream. Most definitely. Will it end now? Most likely not. What should he do? Escape. But that fucking chair. "Fuck. Fuck." he couldn't focus on anything. It all must have been real. He killed someone, he really did it. "Fuck! What should I do? What should I do?!" Should he shout? Maybe someone is near. Someone could hear him and come to the rescue. Than he recognised that the only person to hear him would be the masked man. Nope, he can't let that happen. But than what should he do? Oh fuck, was that guy really dead? His eyes were open. What color were they? How did he even look? But he surely was dead. Levi couldn't remember the body. Only the wounds on it. How did the guy look? Is that even important? No, he shouldn't care about that now. He should escape, until he has a chance.

His head has been very hazy. It hurt too much to stand up. But he had to. Levi tried to tear the restraint on his hand. "What the fucking hell...." the boy hissed, as he felt the exhilarating amount of pain that shot throught his right arm. "It fucking hurts." he wimpered, lying back onto the ground, panting. "It fucking hurts." his voice became smaller, and as he spoke to the ceiling he felt something wet on his face. They were tears.

Of course, it was broken. His fucking arm fucking broke. He realised his neck hurt badly, too. Now the boy remembered the moment when the other guy bit him.  It was all hopeless. How could he even think about getting away? Everything was fucking hopeless. To a degree where crying was the only thing worth to do. Maybe he should just lie on the ground and cry. Maybe if he doesn't move, than nothing will hurt. That should work for a time. Until he calms down. Levi started sobbing. He definitely had to calm down. He started to think about how to do that.

All those thoughts in his head about the body must be ignored. All thoughts about all unhappy stuff must be ignored. Just for a few minutes. Everything should be ignored.

He tried to imagine that he's at home, in his bedroom, in the bed. The sheets are blue. The curtains are blue as well. In front of the bed, there's a wooden desk with his laptop on top. Than some photos of him and his friends next to it. He shut his eyes, tring to make it feel more real. Now it worked, Levi could hear the door opening as his mother walked in. It felt almost too real.

"Did you have a nice sleep?" it wasn't his mother's voice. He decided to ignore it.

"Hey, I asked you a question so you better open your fucking eyes right now. I know that you're awake." the voice said. Than a kick into the stomach followed it quite fast. "Get up right now, or I will break your other arm, too."

So it really wasn't his mother. Of course it wasn't. It must have been the masked man. Levi slowly opened his eyes and instantly hissed, as he noticed the huge frame towering over him. And the mask. The mask felt fucking scary now. For a few seconds they just kept looking at each other. Than he lowered his eyes back to the floor and closed them.

"See, I knew that you're awake. Get up." the man said.

Levi was somewhat confused. Of course he knew he should do as told. But he just killed someone not long ago. And his head was still hazy. And he didn't want to face reality. So even if he wanted to comply, the boy felt kinda frozen.

"Oh, that's cute. You must be trying to shut me out." The man laughed. Than Levi felt someone grabbing his shoulders, and pulling him up into sitting position. It fucking hurt. Maybe he even shouted. The pain in his right arm was too bad to bear. Than he wanted to open his eyes, but still felt hands on his shoulders, so he wouldn't dare.

"Open your eyes." oh, so he must open them after all. Levi did as told now. He felt strangely conscious about blinking. He counted how many times he blinked. One, two, three, four, five, he could have counted to ten thousand.

"Are you okay?" the masked man asked. Levi froze in counting. He didn't anticipate that. "I asked if you're allright." the man repeated. "You should answer. Yes or no?"

How the hell would he be fine? Levi thought in terror. But after a minute, he nodded slowly. Nodding should be okay.

"First, you should answer aloud when I ask you a question. Second, that's not true at all. So let's try again. Are you allright?"

Levi didn't understand a word of it. What the hell did the man want? Should he say no? Did he want him to say no? Why? Why would a kidnapper ask something like that right after he made him kill someone?

"No?" it was more like a question than an answer.

"That's better. You must still be shocked. Quit thinking too much, if you start thinking right now, you will most likely panic. We will talk about everything later."

They will talk about it? What the hell? This kidnapper behaved strangely. Almost as...

"I told you to try not to think for now. If I tell you to do something, you do it." the man demanded. I can see that you're confused. I may answer some of your questions if you stand up right now and follow me quietly. I guess you realise, but you have zero chance of getting away. You're not in a state where you could run, let alone fighting me, and finding your way out of a forest."

A forest? Fighting? Levi furrowed his brows in confusion. Yeah, he should do those things. The boy thugged at his restraints again, but his arm was still hurting, and he shouted out loud.

"See?" the man laughed, like that was something humorous. "I told you. Now, if you want answers and clean clothes, stand up and follow me. Or you can just stay here with your untreated right arm after you take a beating. You choose."

Levi chose to stand up. It wasn't easy, but he wouldn't ask the man for help. He felt shivers running down his spine when the kidnapper grabbed his shirt. "This way." he thugged at it, and then started to drag the boy thowards the front door. They didn't go the same way as last time.

"Where..." Levi started, taking the risk to be hit or something bad like that.

"Cease the talking" the masked man said. Oh, yeah, he told him to shut up when he took him outside the room last time, too. But than, the man didn't really answer to any of his questions. Actually, he barely said a few words. Now, his kidnapper seemed much more talkative. In a few minutes they reached a big metal door. It felt like deja vu. Levi stopped dead in his track. "No." was this like the last time? Did they want to make him do something awful again? He didn't want to die. "No, no, no, no, no." he tried to back away as strongly as he could, but the man had a stong hold on him. "No, please, I don't want to go." Levi pleaded, terrified.

"It's not really your choice. Get inside." the man opened the door, and pushed Levi forward, but the boy found some strength in himself to fight back. He tried to kick, like last time, but his legs felt too wobbly, it wasn't any suprise that his captor blocked the kick with ease. What else could he do? Will he die? He has been sure he couldn't take anything like last time once again.

"Now, now. Even animals can learn not to do the same stupid thing twice. You should nicely go inside, before I change my mind about being kind. No need to be scared. It's not like yesterday. See? It's a different door." the man explained. "So" his tone suddenly changed. Now he sounded much more intimidating. "you have five seconds to go, before I break your left arm, too."

'Will I not die if I go there? What will happen? Will it hurt?' was what Levi wanted to ask.

"two...three...four..." the boy swallowed the huge lump in his throat, than he quickly rushed into the room.

"Good boy. I was getting worried for nothing. So you can listen to me after all." now the masked man sounded quite cheerful. "Take a look around. It's not that place. It's a garage."

It was really something entirely different. It wasn't a huge place, but there were a few cars parked. Now Levi had a different question. Why did they come to a garage? But of course, he didn't dare to ask. The man led him to a huge, black Range Rover and opened the trunk. Levi squirmed a little bit when he saw the contents but didn't try anything. The man had been right. He could do anything he wanted to him, and refusing was only going to make it worse. Even if it was the same red door from before, Levi would have been forced to go inside.

The trunk was mostly empty, but there were a few rolls of tape, most likely the same type as what his captor used to tie him to the chair. And there was a big, green box, too.

"Sit down and stay put. I'm gonna tie you up nicely to make sure you can't make any unnecessary noise. I'm sure you will try, but I don't want to drug you again, if not needed" the man sighed. "We are going for a ride."

Usually, they used big black cars to kidnap people in horror movies. But Levi has already been kidnapped. He wondered what it could do to him. For now, he complied.

"It would have been better to do this while you were still out. They are hella slow in handing out money." the man grumbled, while he grabbed Levi's legs and started to bind them with the tape. "Now I can choose between psychological damage and the risk of drug overdose. They shouldn't break something just because it's not their property."

When he made sure, that the legs are safely bound, the man looked up at his captive's face. The boy still seemed terrified, but at least he finally stayed quiet. It's a wonder that he could try fighting back after what he went through, it must have been because of adrenaline. "Being alone in a trunk for a few hours in your condition could be fatal. Though I don't want to use drugs, it would be best for you to sleep. Starting to think things through will only result in you going crazy. Am I understood?"

Levi gave up on understanding the motivation behind the man playing nice while tying up and locking him inside a car's trunk. He simply said yes, without even commenting on being called a thing.

A few seconds later he couldn't say anything anymore, since a piece of tape covered his mouth, and all the light disappeared as the lid of the trunk came down. He had been locked inside. Levi wondered what would be the next thing for him to open his eyes to. Most surely, that frightening white mask he didn't want to see ever again.

He felt the motor starting. So they set off.
