A smaller world - 2

The next few days, the strange man with the white wooden mask kept coming back, bringing food and water. Every time, Levi felt a shot of fear run through him, however, after some time he started to hope that he won't be killed.

Yet.

The food has always been horrible, a very small portion of  foul tasting gruel, though it was nutritious, and he got to drink, too, which, in the current situation, Levi was grateful for.

From the visits of the man, he could now follow time and count the days passing. He has already been in that shitty place for five days and four nights. Once, the man came with a hosepipe, and poured water all over him again, calmly, relentlessy, just the way someone would water a plant. Like he wasn't a living person.

On the last two days Levi tried to talk to his captor. It wasn't easy to find the courage in himself to do so, but still spoke up, knowing that he may end up very hurt because of that. He asked about the reason he's there, but didn't recieve an answer. Than he begged to be released. He hardly harboured any hopes for that to happen, but still felt that he had to at least try. Than begged about being released from the chair, but maybe the man didn't think that would be dangerless, because he didn't agree. Levi didn't know what his face looks like under the mask. Maybe he was angry, or maybe didn't care at all. There weren't any means to know that.

Actually, he hardly answered to anything. Mostly, the man would just ignore Levi, but when he had enough, he would sign with his finger, and than Levi would fell silent. Expect when he didn't. Than he found, that his captor is perfectly capable of dealing blows. Since they were painful, and the man wouldn't answer anyway, Levi stopped. He waited and waited, nervously, hoping for the best.

In the evening of the fifth day, Levi's kidnapper went inside the room and untied him, or at least his legs. Than he grabbed the boys arm, and started to lead him thowards the door. It can't be told that Levi didn't put up a fight. The moment the boy stood up, he felt really scared and miserable. What's gonna happen? All of sudden the room that was his prison seemed such a nice, calm place. On the other hand, who knows where that psycho planned to take him. So just when the mask guy proceeded in untying his legs from the chair, he made an attempt to kick him.

After all those years of training it shouldn't be completely useless, right? Maybe he could run away if he was fast enough and luck was on his side. Than his - now rather week, from all that starving - leg stopped in midair. Just like that. It took some time until the boys brain processed the whole picture. The masked man easily blocked his competition winning kick and now he held the boys ankle in a painful hold.

"Oh fuck." Levi whispeared, knowing he is screwed. Next he knew, a fist collided with his stomach, and he felt himself stumbling to the ground, the soft skin on his face meeting with the rough floor. It definitly left a bruise, since he could taste blood inside his mouth.

He didn't get a lot of time to think though, as he was yanked up, and dragged thowards the door. His hands were still tied and the man had a very powerful grip on them, so for now, Levi couldn't think of escapeing.

"Where...where are you taking me?" the boy asked, his voice shaking, as they passed down a dark hallway. No answer came. "Please...talk to me, I think I'm going crazy." oh it was definitly crazy to ask that of his captor, but for now, he was desperate to have any type of interaction with anyone, even if he only realised that now. Even though he was fucking scared, and cold. They had to be underground. It was even more chilly than the room from before. Still no answer. However, the man didn't signal to keep quiet, so Levi kept going. "Hey, at least tell me, what's gonna happen to me." he demanded, his tone becoming more nervous with every question. Should he just shut up?

Than he got the signal, but no words. He was right, he needed to hold his mouth. Maybe, if he didn't put up a fight, the man wouldn't harm him any more than he already did? Levi didn't know what to expect. Really, how nice it would have been, if he just figured a way to leave this shitty place and get home. Instead, they were walking to god knows where, he being led on a rope like a fucking middle age slave. He felt a small flash of rage, also a huge urge to just stop and stand there, unmoveable, and cause problems. But he was too scared, so after some time he just abandoned the idea and followed in silence. Yeah, it would be safer to follow instructions, until he figures a way to escape. And now, something was actually happening. Scarier than sitting in the room all day, but he could finally move, even if it was limited movement and Levi felt the blood rushing back into his limbs.

'Let's stay positive, let's stay positive...' the boy tried to think. Actually, he gave up being positive days ago. God, this dark hallway was so incredibly long.

After a few minutes, they reached a big, secure looking, red metal door. The man in the wooden mask let go of one of Levi's wrists, and took something out of his bag. It was a blindfold. Levi suddenly remembered all those videos with terrorists, where they blindfolses their victims, since they thought more human to kill them like that.

"Oh..no, no, no, no!!!!" the boy tried to struggle, but he had became too weak in this last week. Or maybe his captor was that much stronger to begin with. Since he couldn't use his limbs Levi just used his mouth, totally panicked at the previous thought. It seemed so real. The man could be a terrorist for all he knew. Maybe, thay took hostages, and killed them when the state didn't fulfill their demands. But still...in Romania? This is not ISIS, he reminded himself. But maybe they were linked, and this was some crazy underground terrorist movement to spread fear. "No!!! Let me go!!! Release me!! I'm begging you!" Levi finally broke out in small sobs. He couldn't see anything because of the blindfold, but still started struggling again. "I don't want to die, you can't shoot me!"

"Keep quiet." he heard the mans voice right next to his left ear. The sound came from really close, so close that the boy could feel his captor's breath on his face. He still didn't stop. Until he felt a cold feeling object being pressed thightly against his neck.

"Are you convinced to calm down now? You were doing so well, don't start throwing these fits of yours or I will just gut you like a fish right here and now."

"What does it matter if you kill me now or inside that room?" Levi whispeared, but became deadly still anyways. That was the longest sentence he heard since his abduction. He could only hope death wasn't awaiting on the other side of the door.

"Good boy. But cease the talking." the man ordered. Levi heard a creaking sound. So the moment of justice finally came. Was it going to be earthly justice or was he going to be sent to some god he didn't believe in? What is in the afterlife? Does heaven exist? Hopefully he's not going to Valhalla, since he doesn't know how to fight. That would suck.

As all those questions run through his head, Levi could feel that he's being led forward, and than a sudden showe came from behind and he found himslf kneeling, while someone, most likely his captor grabbed his hands and started to cit the ropes. What the hell was happening?

"Don't take off the blindfold!" the man's voice suddenly warned him, and he just nodded, dumbfounded. Would taking it off really help him know? Levi doubted it. Better hope Jesus exists and will speak up for him in afterlife. He had far too many sins. Like being immature with his parents and cheating on his girlfriend. Not just one or two times, he did that, like, at least once every month. When he was ten, he also gave his little brothers annoying goldfish to their cat, but now he would have no chance to apologise. Poor little bro never recognised that he had been the culprit and now never will.

When both his hands and legs were free, Levi heard a metallic click from both behing of him and front of him. What could that be? If he was being shot, why did he take off the ropes? Actually it was quite painful now, all those sore limbs, and blood running through them once again. Levi thought that if he took off the restraints maybe he's allowed to move, and very slowly, started to stretch his hands.

Than he heard another sound. Something moved in front of him. Okay, that was scary beyond belief. What could that be? Some animal? Oh, no, god, it couldn't be some wild animal, right? He thought back to the clings. It could be a cage for all he knew. That would explain taking down the ropes. But then why the blindfold? Maybe the man wanted it to be a surprise, he thought bitterly.

"Ladies and gentleman! Welcome to this weeks broadcast!" a very loud voice suddenly declared. It must have came from a speaker. "Let's greet the participants. They can't see each other right now, since they were instructed not to take down their blinfolds, as you see. You can make them take it off by donating enough money for both sides. One on one side the donations reach the proclaimed amount, that boy can take down his blindfold. As usually, that goes with weapons too. They both start out barehanded. In case one of the boys does something against the instructions, the other will automatically win, and the deliquent in question will be immediately shot, as you know. A slight laugh could be heard.

Shivers started to run down Levi's spine. So that was it. A fight with some other guy, on some supposedly secret, and illegal, live stream channel. There was no way this was going to end well for him. Couldn't even see his opponent with the stupid blindfold. Levi only hoped he will be allowed to take it off first.

"So let's fight to death! Come on boys, it's time to find each other, don't you think? If no one dies at the end of the hour you will both be executed you know." Levi could basically hear him wink. How could such an annoying voice be so depressing? He stood up. Something was definitely moving closer to him.

'It must be the other boy.' he thought, but then quicky corrected it to 'It must be the enemy.' Couldn't simpathize this time, no matter how sad that was or he would be the one to stay in there, dead. The enemy must think so too. No matter how unfair that was, he didn't have the slightest intention to end his life there. Adrenalin rushed through Levi's blood. He could do this.
