Nine - Wise Men

Dylan was driving over to Rosalie's office for the first time today. They had a meeting set up regarding a new power plant the two companies had decided to build together. Cole had been preparing to leave when Dylan had stopped him, informing him that he no longer had to be his replacement. Instead of sending someone else, he had decided to go himself. For some reason, he had wanted to see her in her element at work. She would be forced to behave nicely with him and he would enjoy watching her get flustered due to his presence.

Dylan and his team were led to a conference room where Rosalie's team were ready for them. He couldn't understand why, but he had felt a little disappointed when he didn't see Rosalie in the room. A woman got up and started presenting the designs for the power plant. Dylan was the least bit interest and scrolled on his phone through out. The door swung open, grabbing his attention, and Rosalie walked in.

She was wearing a tight pencil skirt with a white top. Her hair was tied up with a few tendrils framing her face. If Dylan hadn't found her so annoying, he would've even said she looked beautiful. She greeted everyone at the table until her eyes landed on him. Her soft, hazel orbs, hardened as she stared at him through her thick lashes. He smirked at her. He had succeeded in bothering her by showing up.

"Dylan, you're here," she marvelled softly.

"Well I wanted to see for myself what you were planning on doing with my money," he retorted.

"Of course," she smiled. He couldn't believe it. She actually smiled at him.

She continued explaining the details of the power plant to the room. She sounded so passionate when she spoke about the project. A few minutes in, Dylan could no longer hear the words coming out of her mouth. He was too busy staring at the way her eyes twinkled every time someone appreciated her ideas, the way her pencil skirt framed her ass, or just the way her lips moved when she spoke.

All of a sudden, he realised everyone on the table was staring at him, including Rosalie, who stood in the front. He looked at them, having obviously missed something important and let out a confused "Hmm?"

"I asked if you found everything to your liking," Rosalie repeated herself.

"Oh, yeah. It's great," he replied. It was unlike him to not pay attention at work. He immediately got up and left after saying goodbye to everyone. He had come here to confuse her and yet, he was the one leaving flustered.

After returning to his office, Dylan buried himself in work to distract his mind which kept drifting off to Rosalie. Never before had a girl actually gotten him so riled up and confused. Once he was done with everything, he decided to go out drinking with his friends to avoid going home. Luckily, it was the weekend and everyone except Ryan agreed to meet.

After meeting up with his friends, he ordered a drink at the bar. Sitting down on one of the stools, his eyes landed on two hot girls standing at the further end of the bar. One was blonde and wore a short silver dress but it was the tall brunette next to her that caught his eye. She was wearing a tight red dress that showed off her cleavage. He saw her look at him and immediately looked away. He knew she would make her way to him soon enough.

Just like clockwork, the girl walked up to him.

"Hey," she spoke over the loud music.

"Hi," he replied casually.

"Why are you sitting here all alone," she slurred. He could tell she was already tipsy.

"Just getting myself a drink," he raised his glass at her. "Would you like one?"
She giggled and nodded.

Before Dylan could call for the bartender, Matt showed up.

"Out of the way lady, this one is off the market," he announced while grabbing Dylan's hand and showing off his wedding ring. The girl scowled and then walked away.

"What the fuck, bro?" Dylan asked.

"You're married now. Start acting like it," Matt replied.

"We were just talking. Besides, when did you get so holy?" Dylan questioned, annoyed at his friend's behaviour.

"Since your wife welcomed me into her home and gave me food," he answered.

Great, Dylan thought. Rosalie had managed to even get his friends on her side.
