Chapter Six ... ... The Parents

POV
Lucas

Now before you, all Jump down my throat and scream

"How could you let him touch you..."

"Why did you fuck him?"

Understand something.

We are all animals, humans can fight their urges better than wolves can, we can try to fight our urges, but I was in the direct glow of the Flower Moon.

If you can't understand that... Well then fuck you. I needed him and I used him, the sex meant nothing to me.

But I felt bad because it meant something to him. I know I shouldn't, I know I should just say fuck'em, but I can't... I'm a good person.

Stone Sr has been a sad mess for the last four days, every time we see each other he looks like someone killed his puppy. He doesn't speak, he just stares at me, his eyes begging me for something I can't give.

Forgiveness.

I have no forgiveness to give, he wants me, now that I don't want him. He's in trouble with the pack Elders, Lucy whose an Elder in training, said they're discussing his punishment.

But he's the Alpha, the most they could do was suspend him. And even that would only last a couple of weeks.

So he was basically gonna get off free with what he did unless fate had other plans. His parents came home a week later. It was early morning.

The sun was just rising when my father came to my room and woke me, he said for me to get dressed, and to come downstairs.

"For what daddy?" I asked, rubbing my eyes. "Because Stone and his parents are here." He said, "I'll be down." I responded.

He nodded and shut the door.

I sat up slowly, wondering what they could possibly want. I threw on my robe, planning to go back to bed when the conversation ended.

Down the stairs and in the living, my parents sat with Stone in his parents, breakfast was on the small circular table. The windows were open, letting in the early morning breeze.

It swept around the room, letting the smell of trees, flowers and morning dew dance around the room. The smell of coffee sat over the smell of nature.

"Hello, Lucas." Stone's mother greeted. "Luna Shelby, how have you been?" I asked, showing her respect with the bow of my head.

"Things aren't well at the moment, I'm sad to say that I've met my grandson for the first time today, after close to seven years. Now I certainly don't blame you, but I wanted to personally apologize for my son, he's garbage to me at the moment." Shelby said.

Her and Stone's father were aging, both had graying hair, Tim more than his wife. But they still held that aura of pride and grace.

"Well, an apology isn't necessary, but most appreciated. Was there anything else I can do?" I asked.

"Yes ... Stone told us that you plan to leave Little Stone here until he's tamed his wolf. Does that mean you won't be staying?" Alpha Tim asked.

"Alpha, with all due respect I..."

"He isn't your Alpha! I am." Stone interrupted his eyes flashing black, before returning to blue. "I apologize." Stone said, "Yeah, as of late you seem constantly sorry." His mother said.

"As I was saying, Al... Tim, I and Stone aren't mated, nor do I see a future where we will be. So I have no reason to be here." I said.

"You are this pack's Luna, you have every reason to be here. As a mother, I know you don't actually want to leave your child behind, you don't have to be with Stone to perform your duty as Luna." Shelby said.

"Look, I'm sorry that you're all pissed at me, I don't know what was going on with me back then, but I'm not that guy anymore. I know you guys are our parents, but this is all between me and my mate." Stone said, staring at all of us equally.

"This mess you made is pack business, listen to me boy... I don't give a damn if you have to break your back making it right. Two hundred years of pride, all wasted because of your selfish ignorance." His father said, standing up and downing his coffee.

"You can better believe this will affect the next generation. That means Stone Jr." Shelby said. "What's that suppose to mean?" I shot back.

"Nature makes up for all mistakes, something will be sacrificed. I don't know what." She said.

"Not if I take my child and go. Look I appreciated the kind words, but I am not going to be bullied into anything, simply cause you two come waltzing in here handing out ominous messages. The fact is, I have a life and I am going back to it. This is not my pack... End of discussion." I ranted.

I stared down Stone and his parents, I was all cool with the stuff she started out saying, but then it sorta felt like she was threatening me, maybe I'm just feral.

I left the room, heading out the door. It was still early morning, but all the pack kids were out and running about. I looked around for my son, not really trying to find him.

I was really heading into the woods, I hadn't hunted in years, never wanted to before, but I was strong now, I could handle it. I was just walking into the treeline when I heard a little voice calling out to me.

I turned to spot Arthur's son Soren, the kid was adorable, an Omega in every sense of the word. Small, quiet, easily frightened.

His hair was darkening, it was morphing from a whitish blonde to a wheat color. His eyes were bright blue, and they seem to look into a person.

"L-Luna Lucas, c-can I talk to you?" He stuttered a habit most Omega his age have. "First off its just Lucas, I'm not your Luna... And yes what can I do for you?" I asked.

"W-will you teach me t-to fight?" He asked. "Why?" I asked in return.

"Be-because... I do-don't want Stone to get in trouble protecting m-me." He answered.

"Why didn't you ask your father?" I inquired, "He w-would say no, te-teach me please." He said. "Why don't you just let Stone protect you?" I asked.

"I-if I do, he'll get bullied, I just gotta learn how to p-protect myself, before I lo-lose Stone." He said, suddenly looking on the verge of tears.

"You won't lose Stone," I said. "I-I will. I lost my other friends, Ezekiel and Caleb, t-they both use to protect me, but t-then, people started teasing them, th-then they started ignoring me. Zeke h-hates me... I d-don't want to lose Stone too." He said, his lip trembling.

"How old are you kid?" I asked. "Seven." He answered. "Has your wolf yet found you?" I asked. "N-not yet." He stammered.

"Keeping my son as a friend, can not be the only reason you want to learn to fight," I said. "I want to be brave, everyone s-says Omega's are we-weak, but you aren't." He responded.

"Okay, but believe me... This will not be easy, your an Omega, born to be submissive, to change that, to change your wolf, you must suffer. My suffering came from a dark place, yours will come from physical exertion." I explained, turning and walking into the woods.

His small footsteps followed me for a time, I took larger steps, demanding he keeps up with me. Before long I was running, and still, I expected him to remain at my side at all times.

Brickston territory goes on in either direction for about seventy miles, so I led him all over for an hour, before finally setting course for the east border, towards the swamps.

The swamps are to the extreme south of Brickston territory, it's sort of a safe haven for some of America's hidden wild cats, and the braver animals.

Every wolf grew up on stories of the creatures that dwell there, Bears, Jaguars, Civets, hell I was certain there were Gators.

I'd never been brave enough to go, but I wasn't a kid anymore, and Soren unlike me had someone who would make him face his fears.

A minute went by, as I stood looking from the hill I was standing on, down into the shallowish water, that practically swallowed the old trees.

Water that opened up to join the Mississippi River.

Soren finally arrived, his tiny chest heaving, as he dragged air into his lungs, shoving it out in great big huff's.

His pale face was bright red, and his eyes were wet, both from tears and sweat.

"I know it hurts, but it won't get easier, is it too much, do you want to quit?" I asked. "No." He spoke, no stutter present.

"Good, then tomorrow we start the real training. And when I think you're ready, that's where we'll go." I said, pointing down into the marshy swamp.

"M-my mommy said never to go into the marsh." He said, his eyes wide with mystery and fear. "Yeah, my mama use to say the same thing, it's another way for them to call us soft, weak," I said, my eyes straying from the tall thin trees.

They locked on a slightly trembling Soren, whose wide blue eyes were filled with fear. "B-but there are mo-monsters in the marsh." He said, stuttering as he lost contact with the primal part of himself.

"No, just animals, animals just like us. Remember you are a wolf, this body is not your true nature, it's weak, but the beast inside you is not." I said, and he inhaled deeply calming himself.

"Now, we head back to the pack house, let's go," I commanded, taking off at full speed. Soren didn't complain he just ran as hard and as fast as his legs would carry him.

Teaching Soren wasn't easy, he was only capable of running and even that was questionable. But we didn't give up. The second day, right after breakfast I spoke with his parents.

His mother had a fit when I told her Soren wanted me to train him, but Arthur was excited. "Shhhh baby, you have our blessing, just don't be too rough." He said, trying and failing to calm his boiling mate.

That day we ran for six hours, I had him give me a hundred chin-ups from a tree branch, a hundred push-ups, and three hundred sit-ups. I know he was in pain, I could see it.

I saw it when he cried during his exercises, I saw it when he limped home afterward. Yet the kid didn't complain, he wanted to be strong, brave.

That first week of training was his hardest, and it was happening in obscurity. He and I would disappear into the woods and he'd work tirelessly until dinner.

The second week, I woke him up earlier than before, 5 AM to be exact.
His father had him dressed and ready.
"What are you guys working on this week?" Arthur asked.

"I'm gonna teach him the basics of street fighting, then once he's proficient, we'll move on," I answered, looking down and noticing something that made me smile.

Soren had his head up, his eyes were alert and he was no longer as nervous. "I'm ready Lucas," Soren said, and his father made a sharp sound in his chest and Soren apologized.

"Arthur, I asked him to call me Lucas, I will not respond to Luna." I said, "Then he will address you as Sir as he does with me." Arthur said, and that was just the way he was raised, hell so was I.

"Let's get started, you know the drill," I said, nodding towards the door, and watching as he walked out of the front door.

"I want to thank you, Lucas, he is really taken with you, I'm afraid he doesn't really like me much, so thank you for being there for him in a way I can't," Arthur said, and I nodded, taking my leave without adding to the sentimental moment.

Outside I watched as Soren ran into the woods, I took off after him. Without much effort, I caught up to him. He was strangely focused, his eyes set on the path.

"What's wrong?" I asked, still running. "Nothing." He responded it was cold ... Almost bitter. "Truth," I demanded.

"The only time my dad really deals with me is when he's commanding me to do stuff." He answered, continuing to keep pace with me. "You should tell him how you feel." I said, "I-I can't." He muttered.

"Why not?" I asked. "I just can't!" He shouted, his face full of anger before he froze and stopped running. "I-I'm sorry S-Sir." He said, his stutter returning.

"No, don't apologize, you told me no nicely and I wouldn't take that as an answer. You defended yourself, I'm proud." I said, before returning to running.

"I still want you to tell him how you feel, be direct, be firm... You're an Omega, but you don't come from bad stock. Your father is the Beta like his grandfather was like his uncle was. There's Beta in you, so you are stronger than an average Omega." I explained, and it was true.

"Consider it homework, we won't move on from the basics until you do." I said.

POV
Stone

What the fuck did I honestly think was going to happen, he'd come home and everything would be fine.

"The Elders are coming." My father growled, thundering into my office, his eyes hard and set on me with great disappointment.

I turned and sat down behind my desk, giving my cold demeanor a little extra juice. He stepped aside as my mother walked in, followed by the five Elders.

The Elders were members of the pack who ranged from a hundred to a hundred and fifty. The oldest members of our pack.

When the oldest dies, the second eldest replaces him and so on, then a new initiate joins from the list of potentials.

The Elders wolves are blessed by the goddess herself, giving the old people wisdom and strength that is feared, by the lesser pack members.

Their words are carried by the goddess, blessings and curses alike.

"Hello, Alpha." Elder Dukes called, he was kind and fair, I liked him, and he knew about my rejecting Lucas, I'd cried in front him. He'd take pity.

"Alpha." Elder Shore said, she and her bun of gray hair. She isn't mean, only extremely stiff and she's one of a handful of rejected people to have lived a full life.

Born when second chance mates we're unheard of, maybe even forbidden, she's bitter by no fault of her own. The others were followers, they'd vote based on what Shore or Dukes said.

My parents came in followed by Lucas and his. The room was packed, but we were comfortable, at least I, Shore and Dukes were, we all had seats.

I wanted to offer Lucas a seat, he'd fit perfectly in my lap, but knowing him he'd run across the room and slap me. Nah he'd punch me.

"Alpha, we've thought long and hard about what you did. We've weighed the options for days. Something has to be done to make this right, we are without a Luna, we've been without one, slowly we've been weakening." Shore said he tone dark and merciless.

"Yes, but... I believe this can be fixed, Lucas if you would be willing to accept your destin..."

I knew it was coming, I wanted to warn Dukes, but it was too late. "Don't give me that destiny bullshit, I don't owe this pack one fuckin thing. This is supposed to be about what's gonna happen to Stone, not me... So leave me out of it!" He shouted.

"We can't! Without a Luna our pack has no connection to the goddess, we are in danger. Please reconsider." Dukes said. "No, after the Great Gathering, I am leaving." Lucas hissed.

"Okay that's like a month and a half away, will you fill in until then?" Dukes asked. "Why? It's just a title." Lucas said.

"No it isn't, this land is blessed, during the Gathering when we sacrifice the animals to Luna, her blessings fall on us. Without a proper Luna, we don't have a connection, Stone will slowly weaken, this pack will weaken. Please, Lucas?" My mother pleaded.

"Okay... goddess." He finally caved, "Only until the Gathering, then I'm leaving." He said, looking at me.

"Now as far as you go. Thirty days, no active duty. And when Lucas leaves, your father will be reinstated as Alpha until your heir is of proper age." Shore spat, her eyes screaming disgust.

I stood up, "Madam please, I am the Alpha, and you really need to reread our by-laws, I don't have to step down, and my father wouldn't challenge me, so don't flex the imaginary power you have with me. Leave me with my mate... All of you." I said, looking over them.

Shore stood quickly, scoffed and stormed out. My parents rolled their eyes, grumbling to one another as they left. "We will be at home." Lucas's mother said, pulling his glaring father out of the room.

"I'm sorry about all of this. Truly I am." I said. "So what Stone? You being sorry doesn't change the fact that you broke our bond, it doesn't help." He shot back.

"Well, I'm still sorry. I asked you to stay so I could warn you. Tomorrow I'm going to start pursuing you, I'm gonna be extremely intense, I apologize beforehand." I said, and smirked, watching as he stood with his mouth flopping open and close.

# # #

I woke the next morning, I was tired of playing with Lucas. I fucked up, I admit that I screwed up, but that doesn't mean he can just decide we're done.

I know it should, but no. He's mine, mine damnit and I refuse to lose him again. At 12:00 he'd receive six years worth of red roses. At 12:19 he'd receive my letter. I decided to explain.

Explain everything from how I felt, what goals I wanted to set, I wanted to tell him how dire it was that he give me a second chance.

I wasn't playing with him, he'd be mine. Heart, body, and soul. I want everything.

Like I thought by 12:20 he was storming into my office. "What the actual fuck!" He shouted, giving me three seconds to dodge a vase of red long stem roses.

"You're sorry for breaking my heart, you want to make amends, I won't live without you... Who do you think you are?" He hissed, reading excerpts from my letter.

"I want the rest of those roses gone, or I'm gonna kick your ass." He spat. I stood up, stepping closer over the glass and approaching him. He stood panting, enraged... Fuckin gorgeous.

I pulled him into my office, slamming his back against the door. My quickness and strength, it frightened him. His eyes flashed white and fear flashed on his face.

Then it was gone and he tried to knee me, but I caught his knee and raised his thigh up. Grabbing both, his leg going around me.

He tried to punch me, so I took both his hands and held them above his head.

He was powerless, he was strong, but I'm an Alpha, an Alpha who surprised him. "Yeah I sent all of it, and I meant what I said in the letter, come on Angel I warned you," I said, staring him in the eye.

"Put me down." He snarled, "No you're too violent, I'm not taking the risk. You wanna talk, talk." I commanded.

"This isn't gonna work, I swear it isn't, so just stop or I'm leaving." He said, his eyes holding no threat.

"You're gonna leave Stone Jr? Did you lie to your parents? No I don't think so, look I respect your entire decision to be pissed, but I'm not lettin you go again. No. No. No." I said, shaking my head, watching as he grew angrier.

"You dirty rat bastard, you disgust me." He growled, struggling to pull his body from the wall, but I was flat against him.

"Hate me... Cuss me out... Whatever it takes, I'm not gonna stop begging for your forgiveness, not until I believe you've actually forgiven me." I said.

"I'm leaving, put me down!" He screamed. My eyes burned, and in seconds I was a passenger in mind and body, Falken spoke.

"Never again Omega." It happened quick, my canines pierced his shoulder, he screamed in ecstasy.

I felt his body shudder while he released, his body going completely limp in my arms. Falken faded and I had full control.

Lucas was out, I carried his limp body, out of my office and up to my room. I laid him in my bed, I could smell his cum. It made me feel awful.

Falken had taken his choice, Lucas couldn't leave me now, not without dying. If he rejected me it would kill him within a month.

"FUCK!" I shouted, punching my hand.
