Chapter Eight ... Straight Talk
POV
Lucas
"That's it... Hit it harder. Think about all the stupid kids who bully you, think about how weak they think you are... Hit it harder!" I shouted.
Soren and I were training his knuckles, it wasn't pretty. Training his knuckles required him to beat them badly, he'd been doing it for days.
We stood in the meadow, a hole in the ground with a thick wooden post buried in it. He stood there throwing punch combo's, his knuckles pressing firmly into the wood.
I watched him do it over and over again, it hurt, I know, but it would be worth it. "Harder!" I shouted, and he punched harder, a sound of pain pouring out of him.
We worked every day until the late hours, switching between hand to hand training and knuckle bruising.
Each day we worked hard, he worked until the sunset and the woods grew dark.

Soren's mother was still pissed at me, but Arthur was thrilled. He liked watching his son's confidence soar. And his confidence was getting better.
Leave it to my son to ruin that. It was around dinner time, on a Thursday; which meant it was mandatory for the pack to eat together.
Soren's knuckles hadn't exactly healed, after a day of rest; so they were bandaged. Stone Jr didn't know about me training Soren, but I figured he would handle it well, I was wrong.
I tried to raise him better, but he's an Alpha, incapable of understanding an Omega's drive to protect oneself.
Our constant fear, always thinking about danger.
Anyway, I was seated with my parents, ignoring Stone Sr and his constant glare, nodding gently to the chair beside him.
The dining hall is basically a house on the outside, a big expensive looking cabin, amazing what the pack carpenters can do.
The inside of the cabin is just a cafeteria, nothing special save for the platform where the important people sit. The Alpha, Beta and Gamma as well as their mates.
I was seated with my parents and sister, trying to enjoy the crappy meatloaf the kitchen staff prepared.
Stone Jr was seated across the way, with kids who would one day be important to him. I imagined the quiet kid Caleb being his Beta, he sure kept him close.
And even though he and Ezekiel were always going at it, he was also constantly in his company.
Chatter filled the room, my parents adding to it, I was observing my surroundings. So I saw when Soren sat down in a chair, at a table filled with a group of other little Omega's.
He was clearly tired, he looked somewhat grumpy, but again I understood, who wouldn't be. Being an observer, I also caught on to when Stone Jr noticed Soren's bandages.
I assume he was too busy those couple of days training with his father to notice them before, but when he did he stood straight up.
I watched him march across the isles, storming over to Soren. I strained my ears to hear, but over the loud talking wolves, I could only make out parts.
But I didn't have to wait long, because silence filled the room, when Soren stood up, knocking his food on the floor.
"You can't tell me what to do. You aren't my Alpha!" Soren shouted, neither of them noticing that we were all watching. "I don't care if I'm not your Alpha, I said I want you to quit!" Stone yelled back.
"Leave me alone!" Soren hollered, before storming out, Stone following him. I got up when Stone, Art, and Cheyenne got up, all of us following our two kids.
Soren and Stone were right outside of the dining hall, Art and Stone went to intervene, but both I and Cheyenne made them stop.
"I don't get it Sor, you're hurting yourself, please just stop, for me," Stone begged. I shook my head in disbelief.
They were too young to feel a mating bond, but something was strange about the way they interacted.
"I-I can't... I have to be stronger, I don't wanna be like the other Omega's, I wanna be like your mom, he's strong, he can defend himself." Soren said, and I beamed, before catching myself.
"I don't like seeing you in pain, so if you don't quit, you and I aren't friends anymore." Stone said, and Soren gasped. Though they couldn't see us, we could all see them, we all could hear Soren softly crying.
"F-fine... You were n-never my friend, I shouldn't have expected a-anything else from an Alpha!" Soren cried, before running off. Cheyenne took off running to comfort her child.
Arthur sighed going back inside, leaving me alone with Stone, who walked outside to check on his sad-faced son. I followed him out, he was on his knee, rubbing his son's head.
"I know you just want to keep him safe, but he isn't comfortable in his own skin. You could never understand." I said, walking up behind them.
Stone Jr turned, pulling away from his father, his eyes flashing full black. "Straight talk." He demanded, and I nodded agreeing.
The straight talk was a communication device Stone and I created when we realized he wasn't like regular children. We spoke honestly, without fear or grudges.
"You're forcing your own thoughts and insecurities on Soren, you're gonna make him mean and bitter like you." He said, and his father growled lowly, but I raised a hand stopping him.
"I think being around all these other wolves, hearing cheers for the little Alpha has gone to your head. You don't want Soren strong, you want him dependant on you... Makes you feel like an Alpha, but you aren't yet... Go and apologize now." I hissed.
"No! Not this time Ma, your wrong. I really care about Sor, you just want to build another you. Cold, broken and full of anger. You should just go back to New York." Stone said, slamming his fist into his palm, before storming off.
"What the fuck was that? Why'd you let him talk to you like that, you outta bust his little ass." Stone said, approaching me.
"No, he's wicked smart, so of course he's gonna question things, demand answers. He's right... I should have just left, too late now huh?" I said, and he looked away in guilt.
"Yeah well leaving isn't an option anymore, so... How about we go out, we can talk... I..."
"Seriously, you're seriously asking me out... No Stone, No. What don't you understand?" I asked cutting him off.
"I don't understand. I'm begging you for a second chance, I need you... Goddess... It was a fuckin mistake, I'm not a perfect person, but I've grown up and I know what I want... What I need... You." He stood before me, his eyes wild with desperation.
"I don't care Stone, I don't want you... I don't need you. So stop... I'm stuck here until I find a way to get this mark off. Just cut all this shit out. Please." I pleaded.
I was begging him to stop because it was getting to me. The flowers, the soft words, his whole needy approach, I secretly liked it. I liked the power I had over him.
"No, never ever again. You are mine, from here to the end of our lives, and no matter what I do, no matter what you do. That won't change. You will forgive me." He demanded.
"Whatever," I said, turning to leave, he grabbed my hand and yanked me back into him. His lips slapped mine and my body froze, and for a minute I kissed him back.
My whole body tingled, then I pushed him away. I was panting, my heart racing. I backed away from him before I started running.
I could hear Stone laughing at me. "Run Angel... Run... You're already mine!" He yelled.
