Chapter Two: Tuesday

Edward's POV:
Edward groaned as he got up for the day, he got in the shower enjoying the hot water. As the water pelted his back, hoping it would loosen his tight muscles, his mind wandered back to Jasper. Why did he keep thinking about the model that probably wouldn't remember him come tomorrow? He was used to having crushes on people, but not on men... much less such attractive ones.

He got out of the shower sighing, as his muscles in his back were just as tight and tense as before. I guess its time for another massage and chiropractor trip afterward. He got dressed, always dressed casual and relaxed, and headed to the kitchen to eat. He wasn't really hungry though, so he skipped for just a cup of coffee and a banana.

"Shit, I'm late." He exclaimed, looking at the clock. He ran back to his room to change into his scrubs, grabbed his phone/ pager and wallet, and barely remembered his keys as he ran out the door. He was on his way to his internship at the local hospital, he was planning to become a doctor/ surgeon.

He got in his car driving to the hospital, arriving just in time for rounds. He joined his group as they checked on the required patients, but as soon as he could, he slipped away to an on call room to try to stretch out his back.

"Eddie?" A female voice, Alice, called from outside the on call room. She knocked and entered the room quickly, looking at him in concern. "Are you alright? You're really pale, like more than normal." she added.

"I'm fine, just my back hurts like hell." Edward said, bending backwards in weird positions to try to loosen his back.

"Did you tell Dr. Fredricks?" Alice asked in concern. She knew he needed a cortisone shot, but she wasn't allowed to administer it without permission.

"Great doctors don't need help with pain management." Edward ground out, laying down on the hard ground. Usually being stationary helped, but for some reason it wasn't helping at all this time.

Alice left quickly, returning with Dr. Fredricks and a couple cortisone shots. Dr. Fredricks took one look at Edward and shook his head.

"How long have you been in this much pain?" He asked Edward, as he could see how much pain the intern was in.

"Since yesterday around 5 pm." Edward ground out, sitting up with a grimace.

Dr Fredricks motioned for Edward to lay on his stomach, as he gently felt along the intern's spine.

Edward groaned and whimpered, as the doctor found the sensitive areas of his back. At one point, the doctor touched along his shoulder blades and the area between them, eliciting a cry of pain from him.

"Okay Edward, I am going to put some shots in your back to help with some of the pain. And prescribe you some painkillers to help when the shots wear off in a couple days." Dr Fredricks explained. "Please take off your shirt, Alice clean up and drape Edward's back so we can proceed." He instructed quickly. Alice quickly did as she was told, as soon as Edward pulled his shirt off with some difficulty.

"He's all set." Alice said happily, proud of her handiwork. She was still in the very beginning stages of her internship, Edward was almost done with his.

Dr. Fredricks worked fast, not using any numbing medicine as he injected four full vials worth into Edward's back. After the first shot, he stopped complaining as he barely felt anything anymore.

"How do you feel now?" Dr. Fredricks asked kindly, noticing immediately how calm and relaxed Edward looked.

"Um... Great, a little out of it but great. Thanks Doc, that helped a ton. I gotta get back to work." Edward said, pulling on his shirt and walking out of the on call room with only a bit of difficulty.

He was able to make it through the rest of his shift and home right afterward, with very little issues. He collapsed on his bed completely forgetting that the next day, he would get to see the beautiful model once again.

Jasper's POV:
Jasper got up later than normal, feeling too tired to start his day off with a run like normal. He lazed around for most of the morning, zoning out at the tv, as he attempted to think about anything but the boy from school, Edward Cullin.

He was startled out of his musing, by his phone ringing out of the blue. He jumped up and grabbed his phone, seeing his little sister Alice's name flash on the screen.

"Hello, Alice? Aren't you supposed to be at the hospital?" Jasper asked his sister, with a yawn. She giggled on the other side of the line in her excitement.

"Jazzy, guess what I did?!" Alice practically yelled into his ear. Jasper flinched, wishing he had ignored her call.

"What did you do?" He asked kindly, knowing that he needed to be supportive of his sister who wanted to be a doctor.

"I got to help prep a guy to get cortisone shots in his back, and he wasn't even a patient. His name is Eddie, and he is a couple years ahead of me in his internship." She jabbered excitedly. He rolled his eyes tiredly, knowing she was just too excitable for this job.

"Oh yeah, and why did he need the shots? Oh and how many shots were there?" He asked, not caring but wanting to be nice.

"Four shots, and he could barely walk, his back hurt so much." She said sadly. "He's a really nice guy, you should meet him." She added excitedly.

"Are you playing matchmaker again?" He asked with another poorly hidden yawn.

"Jazzy, you're amazing and I want you happy. Not sleepy and depressed, whenever you are not modeling." Alice said, with a pout in her tone that he knew very well. It was the tone that said, 'you will do it or else'.

"Fine, when does he work next?" He asked giving in. He was such a push over when it came to Alice.

"Thursday. He has classes tomorrow, I think sculpting." She said simply, having no idea she already took him back to Edward.

Sculpting? At least the guy was artistic or trying to be, so hopefully they would get along. But he didn't want to meet this new guy at all, he wanted to see Edward again.

He frowned, as he realized he was thinking so hard about someone he had barely even met.

"Jazzy? Are you listening to me?" She asked loudly, in his ear. He flinched realizing he had been lost in his own thoughts for a long time.

"Sorry, pixie. I think I'm gonna go to bed, I am not feeling fantastic today." He admitted softly, swallowed harder than necessary for her to hear.

"Oh no, don't tell your getting sick again... Jazzy, you're sick a lot, did you eat something you weren't supposed to? I don't want your crohn's acting up." She worriedly.

"Sleep is all I need, talk to you tomorrow." He said, hanging up and passing out on the couch from exhaustion.
