Evelyn on the top. Just imagine her hair more brown with a few grey strands.

"Good morning, you seem happy today." Evelyn smiled at me, setting my order down on the counter before she leaned against it. "Something happen?" I put down my money, the big smile never leaving my face. "I just had a nice night." I shrugged, feeling myself blush just thinking about last night.
Patrick and I had talked until his shift ended, then we just sat in the park near my place and talked some more after getting hot dogs from a stand at the park entrance. As we ate we watched the sky get darker and darker, the moon shining big and bright.
We talked for three hours, but it only felt like ten minutes. Then Patrick walked me back to my place. And as we stood on the concrete steps leading to the entrance of my apartment building I could tell he wanted to kiss me. His eyes would flicker from my eyes to my lips as his tongue would slide across his own lips.
But he must've been nervous, considering he gave me a small smile before hurrying away. I'm kind of glad he didn't kiss me. I don't even know the last time anyone kissed me, I've been single for so fucking long.
"Alone? Or with someone special?" Evelyn questioned, a small smirk on her face. Even Evelyn knows I've been single for a long time, so whenever I even mention another human being she presses me for answers, even if I don't know them myself.
"Just a friend." I replied, earning a groan from the woman. "Come on Pete, I need details." She said eagerly. I sighed and walked away, Evelyn following close behind. I sat down, Evelyn now across from me, her head leaning against her palms.
I rolled my eyes at her before taking a sip of my coffee. "You know him, it's the boy with the glasses." I told her. Her eyebrows raised, a shocked expression on her face. "Patrick?" I nodded my head, picking off a piece of my muffin before popping it into my mouth.
"Oh, wow." She dropped her hands and stared at them, clearly deep in thought. "Something wrong?" I asked as the ding of someone walking into the shop sounded. "No, honey. I'm just surprised you finally found someone." She teased before standing up and walking back to the counter to help the costumer.
I looked out the window, a sigh leaving my lips. I was so deep in thought about random things that I almost let out a scream as somebody say down across from me, causing the table to shake a bit. I looked towards the person my eyes wide. "Sorry," Patrick chuckled, his cheeks turning pink.
"It's alright, you just startled me." I chuckled. Patrick sighed in relief, a giggle leaving his lips. The sound was like music to my ears. "I had a good time last night," I started, feeling the butterflies that were in my stomach start to flutter. "And I was thinking, do you uh, maybe wanna do it again?"
"I'd love to." Patrick grinned, an amused look on his face. "Sorry oh my god, I have the social skills of a pickle." I groaned, covering my face with my hands. I felt Patricks fingers wrap around my wrists before he slowly pulled my hands away, his face holding a fond smile as he looked at me.
"Don't say that, your social skills are perfect. Everything about you is perfect." He breathed his eyes just filled with.. With love. "Do you really think so?" I asked, my voice a whisper. "Yes, you are. Everything about you is just so amazing and wonderful. The way you always have a smile on your face, the way you work with kids and help them through your problems. And of course, just the way you can bright up any room."
I could feel my lip quiver as I looked at him, my eyesight starting to get blurred by the tears that were coming. As one slipped Patrick wiped it away, a sad smile on his face. "Please don't cry Pete, it makes me want to cry." He chuckled, his own eyes becoming glossy.
"Sorry, it's just, nobody's ever said anything so nice to me." I said, my voice cracking. I desperately wiped away the tears, starting to get embarrassed. "You better get use to it, because as long as we're together you won't hear the end of how perfect you are." Patrick smiled, taking my hand from where it sat on the table.
And in that moment I knew, I had fallen hard for the boy with the glasses.
