fifteen: the end
After knocking I took a step back and waited for someone to answer. I held Patricks hand in mine, giving it a small squeeze as the door opened, revealing my mother. She smiled at me, but her eyes went wide when she saw Patrick. "Oh, hello boys. Come on in." She smiled, stepping aside.
We walked inside and into the living room, where my dad was. His jaw dropped as his eyes landed on us, but he quickly recovered. "Hello, I'm Pete. But to make things easier just call me Mr. Wentz." He said. Walking over to Patrick and shaking his hand.
I tried not to roll my eyes, my parents were pretending not to know Patrick. "Dad, I know." I said blankly, causing my dad to turn to look at me, a confused look on his face. "I know, about the accident." I repeated quietly. My parents were quiet, my mom now next to my dad.
"Maybe we should sit down and talk." She suggested. We all nodded and sat down, Patrick and I on one couch, and my parents across from us on the other. "So, you told him?" My dad asked, looking at Patrick with a stern expression. "Somebody had to." Patrick replied coldly, his eyes narrowing at my dad. "How did this happen?" My mom asked before the two men could start and argument.
"I saw him in a coffee shop one day, and I thought he was intriguing. So we just started talking and spending time together, and now we're here." I said, looking at my parents. They stayed quiet and exchanged a look before my dad spoke up. "You're probably wondering why we didn't tell you. And honestly, there's no excuse. We just thought it would be hard for you to go try and remember it. That it would be to much for you." He said quietly, giving me a sympathetic look.
"That's what you thought. You can't just control my life like that." I said, trying to hold back my anger. "Honestly, we have no excuse. We were being selfish and only thought about ourselves." My mom said quietly, looking down at the ground. "I'm so sorry," she spoke, her voice cracking as tears began falling.
I bit my lip and watched her. I wanted to go comfort and forgive her, but a bigger part I me held me back. They've been lying to me for three years, making up lie after lie because they were so selfish and only thought about how everything would impact them. "We should go," I said, standing up and grabbing Patricks hand, leading him towards the front door.
"Pete," my dad called, standing up and following after us. I ignored him and walked out of the house, still dragging Patrick behind me. "Pete!" My dad called again. This time I stopped on the sidewalk and turned to look at him with a blank stare. "I just need some space right now, this is just a lot to take in." I said before walking down the sidewalk, pulling my phone out to call a taxi.
Patrick joined me a few seconds later, stopping me and putting his hands on my shoulders. "Are you okay?" He asked quietly, pulling me in for a hug. I lowered my phone and leaned into his touch, letting out a sigh. "I don't know. I just never thought my parents would do something like that, they always seemed so humble and caring."
"Just give it some time, you'll forgive them eventually. We're together again, that's all that matters." Patrick whispered, his hand bringing my chin up so I could look at him. "I guess you're right," I mumbled, leaning in closer. Patrick smiled before connecting out lips for a kiss. His soft lips moved against my own, biting my bottom lip gently before pulling away.
"Now c'mon, let's get a cab and go home. It's cold out here and I don't want you to get sick." He said. Taking my phone from my hand and proceeded to call for the cab.

Patrick and I were now sitting on the couch in my apartment, a box of pizza in front of us. When we got back to my place we got changed into loose clothing and ordered a pizza. Which in all honestly is way better than sitting in my parents house and making small talk as we wore uncomfortable suits.
"What do you want to watch?" Patrick groaned out, using my Xbox controller to look through the movie options on Netflix. We've been looking for a good movie to watch for about half an hour now. "I don't know, you pick." I said, taking a bite out of my pizza. "Alrighty then," Patrick sighed, finally turning on a movie.
"Snakes on a Plane? Really?" I asked, looking over at him as he picked up his plate and leaned back into the couch. "What?" He whined out, looking at me with a worn out stare. "It's just that I actually watched this like a week ago." I bit my lip to hold back a laugh as I watched Patrick let out a long groan.
"I don't know how you deal with this," Patrick said, turning to look at Hemingway who lay in his dog bed. He let out a snort before covering his face with his paws. "Screw you," I poured, slapping Patricks arm. "Hey, I'm kidding." He chuckled, leaning over to press a quick kiss to my lips.
"Just pick a movie, you loser." I said, sticking my tongue out at him. Patrick chuckled again and picked up the Xbox remote to change the movie, this time turning on The Addams Family. He turned and looked at me, raising his eyebrow. "Perfect." I grinned back. Patrick smiled back at me and leaned into the couch again, the plate in his lap.
Twenty minutes into the movie we finished the pizza, so I got up and threw away the box and put the plates in the sink. Wen I walked back into the living room Patrick had turned himself into a blanket burrito. "Hi." He smiled, only his face sticking out of the blanket. "Hi," I laughed, walking over and sitting down next to him.
He unwrapped himself before pulling me into him. "Now we're both in the burrito." He whispered, causing me to let out a loud laugh. "Oh my god," I whispered, giggles leaving me. Patrick chuckled as he watched me, that fond smile never leaving his face. "You're so cute." He whispered again. "Thank you, but you're cuter." I replied, pressing a quick kiss to the tip of his nose.
Patrick pulled me into his arms, my head on his chest as we watched the rest of the movie. Every once in a while he would press a kiss to the top of my head, or rub little shapes into my back. I sighed and leaned closer into him, feeling my eyes start to droop before I eventually fell sleep in Patricks arms.

The next morning I woke up and let out a loud yawn as I stretched. I looked around the room, noticing I was in my bed. Which was empty, except for Hemingway who was still asleep st the foot of the bed. But Patrick was nowhere to be seen. I got up and stretched again, Hemingway no waking up too.
I walked into the hallway, stopping when hearing sounds from the kitchen. I could hear the sound of sizzling, along with plates being set. As I got closer I could hear Patrick quietly singing Meant to Live by Switchfoot. As I can walked into the kitchen I smiled big when seeing Patrick swaying along to his singing.
He hadn't noticed me yet, considering his back was to me. I got closer and leaned against the counter. "You have amazing singing voice." I spoke up, causing Patrick to let out a squeak and spin around to look at me. "You scared me," he breathed out, but it was followed by a chuckle. "But thank you," he said. Coming over and pressing a kiss to my cheek.
"What're you making?" I asked. Hoping onto the counter as he walked back to the stove. "Eggs and bacon." He replied, sliding the food onto two plates. He handed me one with a smile before walking over to the small table that sat by the window overlooking the busy street. "Do you want juice, or- oh my god." Patricks eyes went wide.
"What?" I asked, looking at him with confusion. "I can't believe I forgot, but you always go to the coffee shop for breakfast. And here I am, asking if you want juice." He groaned, putting his face in his hands. I chuckled and walked over to him, putting my plate in the counter before pulling his hands away.
"Trick, it's okay. I don't have to go there," I smiled. "But you always go, it's part of your routine." He replied, furrowing his eyebrows. "It wouldn't hurt to break it for one day." I told him, causing a smile to break out on his face. "You'd really do that for me?" He asked, eyes lighting up. "I'd do anything for you."
