(Gold's POV)

Shame has hit me like a truck to the head. I decide to do one last thing.

I spent hours carving my mother's name and last words into a rock.

When I finally finished, I flew back to New Bark Town.

It was pretty dark out but it was the perfect time for me because I wanted to avoid everyone else.

I placed the rock on the left side of the burned house.

Looking at it still hurts. 

I went through the house one last time. 

It was the next day but still dark by the time I left.

I flew to Goldenrod City on Togetaro and waited for the Magnet Train.

(Crystal's POV)

I stayed at Prof. Elm's Lab for the night.

I couldn't sleep the whole night. 

When am I going to see him again?

I guess I just needed to go out for a walk. I changed into my normal attire and went out.

I spotted something moving in Gold's burned house.

Then it flew away. 

I walked over to the house and saw a huge rock that wasn't there before.

It had some writing on it

It said:

"You Have A Heart Of Gold! I LOVE YOU! NOW GET OUT OF HERE!"

Nothing else was written on it!

Those were probably her last words she said before she died. The last time she talked to Gold.

She's right. He has a Heart Of Gold!
