🌈 Chapter 8 - 'The Aftermath' 🍫
💛 Dream's POV 💛
~
The tall grass tickled my face while I was laying down. The clouds slowly drifted by in the beautifully blue sky. Their poofyness made me want to jump up and bounce on them. But I stayed in the field full of wildflowers. Bees buzzed somewhere nearby, pollinating the flowers and doing their thing. Suddenly everything shook a bit. I sat up, the sky suddenly fading away. Everything was getting darker. Another shake. It made the earth beneath my hands and legs quiver with the force of it. I heard heavy breathing. Fast breathing. Panic was filling my senses. No... negativity. Negativity was filling my senses.
My eyes shot open. The bed was trembling. So was the boy next to me. I sat up quickly, worried about why Nightmare was shaking so violently. I shook him multiple times to no avail.
"Night?!"
Nothing different happened.
"NIGHTMARE!" I shouted at him.
I was very glad that the both of our bedrooms were soundproof. My brother shook awake, bolting up into a sitting position. I sat up with him and saw that he was extremely sweaty and panting heavily.
"Nightmare..? Are you alright?" He nodded slightly in response.
I knew he was lying just to make me feel better. It sort of hurt my feelings that he wouldn't tell me the truth, though. I started rubbing his back and that seems to help. He rubbed his eyes as if to clear his head, and I then heard him yawn.
"Well, let's try and go back to bed, okay? We still have a little bit until we have to get up."
He was hesitant. So I guided him back down with me. I hugged him close so that his face was in my chest. He seemed to like it when we were in this sort of position. I assumed it made him feel safe... in a way. I smiled and continued to rub his back in a circular motion. I eventually felt him go limp- a sign that he had finally fallen back asleep. Soon after I did the same.
❤️ Blue's POV 💙
I felt an unfamiliar feeling underneath me. My eye sockets opened slowly, to reveal to me that I was in an apartment. But it was definitely not my own. At first I started to panic. But then I remembered what had happened last night. I felt a blue blush spread across my face. I sat up, the covers falling off to reveal my pearly white ribs, and the cold air hitting me unexpectedly. I shivered at the chilliness.
"I see you're awake," I heard a familiar voice say.
We didn't have intercourse. He wouldn't let us. He said I was too drunk, and for the record, I had been. He was leaning on the door frame with his arms crossed. He was watching me.
"O-oh! Um, about last night! I-I'm really sorry I kept on trying to get you to-"
"Hey. It's alright. I mean, you're cute and foolish, but I wouldn't let you do something as foolish as that, if y'know what I mean," He said, smiling.
I felt my blush deepen. I still had my underwear and shorts on, but other than that, I was exposed. And cold. As I blushed, he walked over, his own face a bit of a dull purple color, and sat down next to me. I held the blanket up, covering my shoulders and down from his view. It wasn't that I was ashamed-- I was honestly just cold. For some reason it was only then that I realized he was only wearing shorts and an unzipped sweatshirt on. No shirt underneath. He had marks all over his neck, arms, and legs. I had given them to him. I tried to subtly move the blanket to see... Yep. I had hickeys all over my body as well. My blush was even dusting my joints now.
"Well, it seems that you remember, or at least see, what had happened last night..." He trailed off, seeming unsure of what to say next.
"...Do you have any sort of job you need to get to?" I asked after a moment.
"No. Why? Do you?" He asked, seemed a little puzzled.
How adorable... I thought.
"Nope. I have all day," I said, looking at him, trying to put a certain look in my eye sockets.
He seemed to get the idea. He smiled. Then he got up, closed the door, and came back to the bed.
"Seemed I missed a few spots last night..." He said, climbing into the bed and on top of me.
I smiled and blushed more. I saw him blush a bit more as well. He then traveled down to where the blanket was covering and I felt a shiver go down my spine. I'm all his, and he's all mine.
🖤 Error's POV 🖤
I felt the strange rise and fall of someone's breath. Wait. Breath? I didn't live with anyone. I literally live in the Antivoid. Where practically no one can go. I didn't even understand how Ink was sometimes able to find a way to squirm himself in there. Other than Ink, I hadn't met anyone other than myself that was able to get in there without me letting them. And by letting them, that usually meant keeping them hostage and such. I mean, who would want to hang out in the Antivoid?!
"Urrg..." I let out a muffled groan.
My skull was killing me. I was hungover and hadn't even meant to be. Apparently someone had spiked the punch at the party. I mean I probably should've expected it, but still. Annoying, stupid kids. My hands moved automatically to reach out to my left, but then I also realized that whatever was under me was warm. I was actually a bit worried to open my eyes. But I did anyways. I was met with another set of eye sockets that were very close to mine. I slightly gasped at the suddenness of a person, especially one that I was extremely close to. And- wait a minute. We were touching. And I wasn't glitching out or crashing. What... I thought to myself. I found myself looking back at the eyes. Wait up again- I knew those eye sockets.
"G'morning, Error. How'd you sleep?" His stupid, annoying, bitchy, cute, funny, annoying voice asked me.
"Wh-What th-the he-ll, In-Ink??!!" I said, fully glitching out now.
"Well, I had woken up a bit ago and you were, like, passed out so I've been playing on my phone, waiting for you to wake up. Also, no. I didn't kidnap you," Ink said in a very calm manner, sitting up so that we were still face to face.
I was now on my knees, and he was sitting with his legs crossed, smiling at me. Ugh. Why did he have to be smiling at me?! His face was already perfect enough! Wait, what..? Why did I..?
"You're a surprisingly good cuddler, did y'know that, Error?" Wait. WHAT.
"Ex-Excuse me?" I asked, and, for the first time in my life, I realized he was taller than me. I had to tilt my head a bit up so that I could meet his eyes. Barely, but still a little.
"Yeah! You were letting me spoon you in your sleep! And a few times you somehow found a way to crawl under my tank top. I think you were cold," I swear I saw his face get a bit of a rainbow dusting on it. Wait, his blush is rainbow..?
Whereas I could feel my face catch on fire. "Oh-oh my go-sh... Th-that's wa-y too embarras-sing..." I muttered under my breath, putting my hands over my face and bending down sort of as to make sure he couldn't see my face.
"Aw, Error! It's okay! I mean, I was surprised as you are right now! Especially with your haphephobia!" My head quickly bolted up, my yellow blush still there and vibrant, but less now.
"H-How did y-you know that I-I ha-have-"
"Error, it was sort of obvious once I started watching you. Anytime anyone touches you, even on accident, you glitch way harder. Also when we're fighting, whenever I touch you, you start to crash," I had felt my blush deeper again.
"Wh-why would yo-u watch m-me..?" He seemed at a bit of a loss for words at that question, and I saw his blush deepen as well.
His face and joints were now a bright rainbow. Then I saw something else. They were on his shoulders, and then seemed to fade as it traveled down his arms to his hands. They were black swirls.
"W-hat's on your arms?" I asked, not realized I wasn't glitching as hard as before.
Ink seemed to notice, but didn't say anything. "It's not just on my arms. Here," He then fucking took off his tank top, exposing the entire top half of his body and said with excitement, "Look!" He pointed to his ribs and such.
He had shorts on. I could see the top of his pelvis. His bones looked smooth, almost as if... if I were to touch them they would feel like a pearl does. I then snapped out of those thoughts and I quickly averted my eyes, feeling my blush deepen once more, and looked at to where Ink was pointing. He had the black swirls absolutely everywhere on his body. His ribs, his spine, the bottom of his neck, everywhere. They seemed to mesmerize me. Like someone who hypnotizes people and has those weird clocks with the swirlies in them.
I couldn't stop myself. I reached out and touched one of the swirls. I went from the center of the swirl, and traced my finger over to the outside of it. I even felt myself inch closer to Ink. I couldn't help it.
"...Error..? You okay?" Ink's voice made me stop.
"A-Ah!! Y-yes!" I blurted out, my head quickly coming up and almost hitting Ink in the chin, but instead we were just in very close proximity to each other.
He blushed brighter. I blushed brighter. His joints were tinted rainbow. My joints were tinted yellow. He smiled at me. I flushed brighter. He noticed this. I knew he noticed this. I covered up my face with my shirt in hope that it would help my embarrassment die down.
"Error, let's make a deal."
"Wh-what ki-kind o-of dea-al?"
"One where you have to crash here at my house with me for a month, and I don't tell anybody about this little event."
"A-a-a mo-month?! Wh-why s-o lo-long?!"
"Don't think I didn't notice you checking me out."
"Ch-check-ing yo-u ou-out?! Wh-when in-in th-e worl-d-d woul-ld I-I be-e che-cking YO-OU ou-out?!?!" My glitch was getting much worse.
"When I took off my tank top? And you were looking lower than what I was showing?" Ink said with a sly smile.
Yeah I don't think my face will ever recover from the amount of blushing I did then.
"I-I-I CA-CAN EX-EXPL-AIN-N!! I-I JU-UST WA-AS WONDER-ING-NG H-HOW-W F-AR-AR D-DOWN TH-THE SWI-RLS-S W-WE-WENT!!!" I said, on the edge of crashing.
"Error, calm down. S'okay. I won't tell anyone. But only if you spend a month here at my house with me. Deal?" Ink said, trying to have a soothing voice to calm me down.
I took a few deep breaths in hope it would help. It did. But barely.
"F-f-fine... Bu-but on-onl-y a-a mon-th. O-oka-y? An-and don-don't ge-get a-any-y id-ideas, ok-ok-ay?" I said.
"Okay! Deal!" Ink said, suddenly embracing me.
Too suddenly. Everything went black.
🖤 Ink's POV 🤍
"F-f-fine... Bu-but on-onl-y a-a mon-th. O-oka-y? An-and don-don't ge-get a-any-y id-ideas, ok-ok-ay?" Error said, his glitching calming down a little.
"Okay! Deal!" I said excitedly, hugging him tightly.
There was a beep. And then Error went limp. Whoops... Too much at once. He had crashed. I smiled at the slightly smaller skeleton in my arms. He was warm. Like a laptop when you've been using it for a while. It was a nice warm that helped you remember who you were. Who I am...
When I had announced the news to the rest of the Alternate Universes, I was expecting them to hate me for all eternity because of the fact that I'm soulless. But they didn't. They still loved me. And that had relieved me.
I wouldn't have anywhere to go if the AUs hated me. My only choice would've technically been Error, since his Antivoid isn't one of the AUs. It's just sort of... it's own thing. I liked going there to hang out sometimes. Sometimes Error was there. Sometimes he wasn't. I had figured out that Error couldn't sense, or at least didn't sense, whenever I was there unless I made myself known by myself. I was surprised he couldn't tell I was there without me saying or doing something.
I sighed. I was tired. It was five in the morning. I told myself the plan, and then put the plan into action. I put Error down in the bed, pulled the blankets over him, and then went to the kitchen. In the kitchen, I got out some pain killers and a glass of water for when Error woke up. It was for his hangover. I took some as well. My hangover was, yes, mild, but still noticeable and annoying.
Afterwards I made myself a portal to the Antivoid. There I found myself Error's belongings, gathered them all up, and shoved them back into the portal to my house. I hoped I didn't make too much noise. Even if it usually took Error awhile to reboot after he crashed, I didn't want to make it any more difficult than it already was.
I then looked around the house to put some of his things, and then put them into place. Then I grabbed the little things and put them into the room he would be staying in. If you didn't guess which room, I'll just tell you; mine.
I was excited to finally have a roommate.
