"Right, let's introduce everyone." Jin says as he looks around at the others.
"Those three are Jimin, Jungkook, and Taehyung. Then those guys are Yoongi, Namjoon, Hoseok, and of course I'm Jin."
"All seven of you live here together?" I ask.
"Well Jungkook doesn't live with us but he's here practically everyday." Taehyung laughs as he slings an arm around Jungkook's shoulders.
"Don't you guys ever get sick of each other?" I ask.
"Not at all." Jimin smiles.
My eyes shift over all of them and land on the silver haired guy who had been staring at me.
"Do I know you from somewhere? You just look so familiar." He says once he sees me looking his way.
"I'm not sure..I mean I just moved here so I don't see how." I say.
"Where did you live before this?" He asks.
"Ilsan. Why?" I ask.
When I say that his face seems to light up.
"Let me guess, you were part of that reading group in sixth grade?" He says and my eyebrows raise.
"How did you know that?" I ask.
"Do you not remember? It's me, Kim Namjoon." He says and after a second it clicks.
"No way! When did you move?" I ask, becoming excited.
"A couple years ago. I bet you were wondering where I went." He chuckles.
"You guys knew each other?" Yoongi asks as he looks between us.
"We went to the same junior high. She was in seventh grade and I was in eighth. We use to talk a lot about books and such." Namjoon grins.
"That's great to hear! I guess you do have a friend here after all." Hoseok smiles.
"Well this was unexpected." I laugh.
"I hope we can be friends again." Namjoon says and I smile and nod.
Maybe it wouldn't be as bad here as I thought.
"So now that we all know each other a little better you want to be friends right?" Jin smiles.
"I don't see why not." I say and he grins and smiles down at me.
"We should definitely go do something tomorrow. You're not busy I hope." Hoseok says as he looks over at me.
"I'm not." I say.
"Great! Then we should go somewhere." He says and the others seem up for the idea.
"Sounds good to me." Jin says.
"Since you guys are in the same grade I can already imagine how close you guys will get. Maybe you'll even date one of them." Namjoon winks as he points to Jimin and Tae.
We all seem to get awkward and shy at his words.
"I think we should make an agreement. None of us like y/n or try to date her. That's sounds good, doesn't it?" Jin speaks out.
"I guess that could work." Yoongi shrugs.
"Anyways, if that's all for today I should be getting back home. I want to help my mom out and unpack some things in the house before she gets home." I say as I stand up.
"We could come help."
"No thanks."
I was fast to deny.
"Okay, whatever you say. We'll see you tomorrow!" Taehyung smiles widely and waves at me.
I say my goodbyes then head out.
Most of all I was excited to see a familiar face.
Maybe having Namjoon around will make me feel more at home.
I smile to myself and head into my house and begin to unpack things.
I'll unpack everything like the nice kid I am.
•••
Once everything is finally unpacked I throw myself down on the couch with a sigh of relief.
The house was finally free of all the boxes and it looked nice.
Just then, the front door opens.
"I'm home." My mom's voice sounds through the living room.
"Welcome home. I unpacked for you." I smile as I hop over to her.
"Thank you, hun." She smiles as she hands me a bag.
She had picked up Chinese food and I was grateful for that.
"Let me get changed then we can eat as you tell me about your day." My mom says and I nod and head to the kitchen.
By time I'm done getting everything ready to eat, my mom walks back into the room.
"How was your day?" She asks as she sits down and takes a sip of her water.
"It was good. Yours?" I ask.
"Tiring. What did you do over at their house?" She asks.
"We just sat around and talked." I say.
"Really?" She asks with raised eyebrows.
"Turns out I went to school with one of them back in Ilsan." I say and smile without meaning to.
"Well that's nice. I'm glad you're making friends." My mom smiles.
"Me too." I say honestly.
It's not like I wanted to be alone at my new school and now I would have two people there I knew.
Sadly, school was only a couple weeks away.
"Did you find out how old they were?" My mom asks.
This was the answer she was dying to hear and I knew it.
"Three of them are in high school. One a junior and the other two are gonna be seniors too." I say.
"And the other four?" She asks, looking at me from over her reading glasses.
"Hmm, well that doesn't really matter." I say.
"Y/n." She says and I sigh.
"They're in college okay." I say.
"College? What year?" She asks.
"Two are freshman and the other two will be sophomores." I say and my mom shakes her head.
"It's still bit of a gap don't you think?" She asks.
"Yeah but we're just friends." I point out.
"I guess you're right." My mom shrugs.
Just as I think she'll let it go, she speaks again.
"Don't even think about getting with one of those four, y/n. You're only seventeen and it's illegal." My mom says in a warning tone.
I knew that would pop up.
"Don't worry. They made an agreement that none of them would like or try to date me." I say, unfazed by this conversation.
My mom studies my face before shrugging.
"Okay I guess." She says and starts eating.
I knew she would bring this back up eventually but it's not like I could stop her.
So I'll just choose to ignore it.
••
Once we're finished eating I head upstairs and shower then lay down to sleep.
I was kind of excited to start school now.
I would have three guys with me that seemed cool and so now I wouldn't be alone.
With that in mind, I fall asleep.
