"It's so cool your hair does that." Moon observed.

Seline had managed to wash all the gunk from it,now dead set on blowing her dark curls out into perfection. In it's stretched-out form, her hair fell bouncily to her shoulders.

"I'm just blow-drying it Moon." Seline continued, nearly done. "Nothing groundbreaking."

"Humble so doesn't suit you Sel." Yasmine said. She was laid on top of Seline's fluffy blue covers, scrolling mindlessly through her phone. Beside her was Khaleesi, a very spoiled ragdoll cat that Seline got for her thirteenth birthday.

"You might be right about that." Seline affirmed, turning back to her vanity.

"Hawk said you guys's teacher made you get into a cement drum?" Moon asked, making Seline cringe.

"Don't get me fucking started." Seline unplugged her dryer and spun around to face the girls.

"Here she goes." Yasmine looked to Moon knowingly. Seline was known to go on rants.

"Like?" Seline exclaimed. "Is he mental? I thought we were learning karate."

Seline ran her fingers through her hair to fluff it up before seating herself in her nook chair.

"Yeah, just don't turn into one of those karate freaks." Yasmine said, looking up.

"Speaking of." Seline said, eyes widening slightly. "That Diaz kid is the fucking worst!"

"Miguel?" Moon pouted. "I think he's really cool."

Yasmine and Seline looked at each other for a split second. Of course she did.

"He's a dork." Seline deadpanned. "Corny as hell."

"I mean it's kind of a given if he's dating Sam." Yasmine added.

"You two are such bitches." Moon flopped onto her back dramatically, scaring the cat off the bed in the process.

"And you love us." Seline said. "So you're a bitch by association."

"Miguel and Sam aren't even dating right now." Moon said. "Hawk's been keeping me updated."

"Oh?" Seline's interest was officially peaked. " It didn't look that way to me in the cafeteria."

"I remember now!" Yasmine's eyes brightened at the chance for gossip. "He got into it with this kid named Robby."

"Woah, when was this?" Seline asked. "And who the fuck is Robby?"

"My failed birthday party that you didn't show up to." Yasmine snarked. "The one where Moon ditched me."

Moon rolled her eyes. "You were being mean for zero reason."

"Guys!" Seline urged. "Stay on topic."

"Miguel was drunk off his ass, like super pissed off y'know?" Moon said. "He accidently pushed Sam and it's been icy ever since."

Seline reeled over the new info. While she was disappointed that she missed seeing Sam humiliated,it was obvious to her that Miguel was still pining for Sam.

"That explains why he's moping around like an annoyingly cute puppy." Seline muttered.

"You think he's cute?" Yasmine zeroed into her, not missing a beat.

"It's just an observation Yas." Seline brushed the blonde off. "He's not not at all my type."

"What even is your type?" Moon spoke up. "You turn down like every guy who's interested in you."

True statement. Seline preferred to keep a roster of guys that constantly blew up her phone. None of them were good for anything beyond a quick ego boost.

"You made out with Brian at the last party." Yasmine pointed out.

"I was blackout drunk, thank fuck." Seline shuddered. "He uses too much tongue."

The girls all giggled for a minute and Seline felt a weight off her chest.

But like all things in Seline's life, the  happy moment was cut off by her father's voice through the door.

"Girls." His voice killed the vibe. "Time to go, Seline has homework."

Sighing, Moon stood up first ,looking at Seline sympathetically. Yasmine followed after, blowing a kiss.

"See you at school tomorrow, honey." Yasmine said, leaving out the door.

Thomas sidestepped the girls before turning his gaze to his daughter. They didn't talk much these days.

That was his fault.

"Tu restes après l'école demain?" He questioned her absently,he already knew the answer. 'Are you staying after school tomorrow?'

"Yeah." Seline answered. "I have some karate stuff too."

"I wanted to talk to you about that actually." Thomas closed her room door.

Seline eyed the door warily, fiddling with her hands nervously. It didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out where the conversation was going.

"John Kreese is a great teacher for someone like you." Thomas started. "Maybe you'll regain some discipline."

"J'ai de la discipline." Seline felt the need to defend herself. 'I have discipline.'

"And now you'll have even more." Thomas' voice raised slightly. "Kreese will have high expectations of you."

"Why is that?" Seline asked, knowing damn well what her father was going to say.

"Because you are my daughter." Thomas said. "And you know I do not teach mediocrity."

"Right." Seline muttered.

"Take it seriously." Thomas added before leaving. "I mean it."

                                ———

SELINE LOVED AP BIO. It was memorization and application but more than that was the gratification she got from the teacher; Mrs. Park always gave her sweet confirmation whenever she got an answer correct.

Today's outfit consisted of a black pleated skirt and a white cable v-neck sweater from Aeropostale. Her hair was perfect, more or less;Seline had woken up two hours earlier to fuss with it.

Currently, she was finishing up some classwork over cellular respiration. Seline could admit that it was a bit of a struggle, but she would power through like always.

When the bell rang,Seline gathered her things, shoving them into her bag.

"Tough lesson today huh?" The voice of Miguel invaded her peace.

"Christ Diaz!" Seline placed a hand over her heart. "Where'd you come from?"

"I sit behind you, remember?" Miguel raised a brow. "Maybe you were too busy basking in Mrs.Parks' compliments.

"Piss off." Seline flipped her hair over her shoulder. "And don't talk to me while we're at school,we are not friends."

"Are you embarrassed to be seen with me?" Miguel teased slightly.

"Extremely." Seline stated. "Not interested in holding a convo with the Miyagi princesses' boyfriend."

Miguel frowned slightly, and Seline could barely help herself. Walking past him,she let her shoulder bump his.

"Oh wait." She spoke with a false perkiness. "It's ex now, isn't it?"

                            ———

SELINE WATCHED IN HORROR as Johnny tried his best attempt at filming a...

Well, Seline wasn't really sure what he was trying to do. She looked to Hawk for some sort of explanation but he seemed distracted. Seline didn't think much of it, turning her attention back to her sensei.

"And cut!" Aisha ended the video.

"I need that video to pop." Johnny pointed. "Add Thunderstruck to it too."

"You'll get sued." Seline stated in amusement. "You gotta pay for the rights to the song."

"I own the song." Johnny looked at Seline with a genuine deep confusion. "It's in my car."

"Of course it is." Seline nodded slowly.

Hawk and Miguel followed after Johnny and Seline felt something akin to envy. If she had that relationship, maybe her progress would advance.

Her thoughts drifted back to Kreese and her father while she stretched. If he was watching her now, might as well snatch the chance to be number one.

                                 ———

KREESE TOOK A HIT FROM HIS CIGAR, watching Johnny lock up the dojo for the day.

"That girl in your dojo, Seline." Kreese spoke while Johnny leaned up against his car.

"I know, I know." Johnny waved him off. "She's just now shaking off all the ballerina bullshit."

"Do you have any idea how good she was?" Kreese questioned. " Top ten in the country and she was number two."

Johnny perked up a little. He could acknowledge Seline worked like a dog, whenever she made a mistake she took it way too personally.

"I'm still lost on why she would leave that and come here." Johnny said. "Miguel tells me she's a bully."

"And if I recall, so were you." Kreese smirked. "But for better or for worse she's apart of our dojo."

"My dojo." Johnny corrected.

"Her father,Thomas, is military." Kreese said. "That's something you should be using."

"I'm not following." Johnny said. Kreese stepped closer.

"She's hungry for approval, I can see it." Kreese said.

"She looks at these other kids in contempt, especially that Mexican."

"Miguel is from Ecuador." Johnny said in annoyance. Kreese shrugged.

"I'm just saying." Kreese turned around. "Seline can be molded into whatever you want."

                              ———

MUSIC BLASTED THROUGH Seline's headphones as she jogged at a steady pace. Attached to her hip was the extended leash of her German Shepherd, Micah. He was more of her dad's dog but since he'd grown busy, Seline took a more active role with his care.

Micah came up to her mid waist and made her feel safe; The perfect running buddy. Seline figured some extra exercise would do them both some good.

Johnny told everyone about some demo at the Valley Fest, but made the decision that Seline wasn't ready to show skills yet.

It was insulting ,to say the least. Did he think she wasn't good enough? Seline thought she'd been picking up the skills quickly, although her punches needed some work.

Her thoughts drifted to Miguel as did her annoyance. He was disgustingly earnest ,despite her bitchiness towards him. Unlike everyone else on the team, he didn't seem to particularly hate her, which was strange to Seline.

She wasn't sure how to feel about it. Why was she thinking about him anyways?

The buzzing of her phone snapped her out it. Flipping to her texts, she saw Moon lighting up the groupchat with her and Yasmine. They called themselves The Plastics.

The Mean Girls movie practically ruled the trio's lives.

Yasmine and Seline often argued about which one of them was Regina George; Yasmine's main argument was that she was blonde while Seline claimed she shared the same style as her.

Both of them agreed that Moon was Karen.

                                           the plastics💕🌸

Moonie: SELLIE

Moonie: R U PERFORMING AT THE VALLEY FEST 2NITE???

Seline felt annoyed all over again.

sel sel : stop yelling at me

sel sel: and no johnny says im not ready

Yaz: LOL ik ur so pissed rn

Seline smiled. Just a little. She watched Moon's typing bubble appear then disappear.

Moonie: pls come with me to watch? Pls pls pls pls pls ^3^

                                                         sel sel: no

Moonie: you'd get to see the robby guy who pissed off miguel....

Well, how could she deny that kind of drama?

                                              sel sel: meet u there

Seline slid her phone back into her pocket before starting the walk back home.

———-

ROBBY WAS HOT. Seline was pleasantly surprised.

The Miyagi-Do demo was more like a dance to her, but her eyes never left Robby's form. If this was the guy Sam was training with all alone, she was sure Miguel was feeling some type of way.

It made her smirk.

"Is there gonna be any fighting?" Moon asked, leaning over to one of Hawks' loser friends, who Seline had learned the name of a minute ago. Demitri claims that she had called him a bitchless incel one time in freshman year.

While Seline didn't at all recall the memory, she had to admit it did sound like something she'd say.

"I think so?" Demitri said unsurely.

Seline watched Sam's dad show off some bo staff forms. She liked the way it looked; Maybe she could convince Johnny to let her try.

"Sam looks good at least." Mood added, causing Seline to scoff.

"That shit is like super basic, anyone could do it."

"I can't."  Demitri said.

"I remain unsurprised." Seline said.

Daniel LaRusso wheeled out some blocks of ice for the finale. Seline was half interested to see him break through them all.

"Cobra Kai!"

Moon shook Seline's arm in excitement as she pulled her in the team's direction.

"Hawk looks so good!" Moon beamed.

Seline wasn't focused on him; It should've been her on that stage. She watched Miguel smile as everyone went crazy for him. He was good, amazing even. When they met eyes though,Seline didn't clap nor did she smile.

He was not deserving of her attention.

Further into the performance, the team threw t-shirts into the crowd and Seline was sure Aisha hit her in the face on purpose.

"That was so cool!" Moon gushed, hanging off of Hawk's arm in amazement after the performance was over.

"Yeah well, that's the Cobra Kai style babe." Hawk responded.

"You two are gonna make me hurl." Seline muttered.

"Hey." Miguel stood next to her. "Sorry you couldn't perform."

Seline shot him a side eye, wondering if he was mocking her. But those stupid brown eyes of his said otherwise.

"It's whatever." Seline shrugged. "I just got here."

Miguel looked like he wanted to say something else but was interrupted by Sam and Robby approaching.

Sam scowled at the sight of Seline. Robby stood by her side like it was his job.

"Lame ass performance." Seline kicked off, hoping something interesting could come of it.

"Whatever Seline." Sam shook her head, causing Seline to pout slightly.

"Sam,hey." Miguel greeted reluctantly. Sam just rolled her eyes at him.

"Your dojo is nothing but trouble." Robby spoke up, making Miguel scowl.

"Better trouble than boring." Miguel retorted. Seline found she liked this side of him, it was way more interesting.

"So it's just you and Sam at Miyagi-Do?" Seline questioned Robby innocently.

"What's it to you?" Sam said.

Seline let herself very obviously check out Robby, eyes liting from him then to Miguel.

"Oh I'm sure it's nothing." Seline chirped. "See ya."

                                      ——-

A/N: I think we all agree that Seline is probably Regina George

Seline and Miguel thinking about each other makes me geek out they got 30 minutes!!
