A sweet smell engulfs the room, and we both slowly rise, smelling the air as it pulls us upwards. We look to each other and smile, then get ready for the day before heading down to the kitchen for breakfast.
Mom's making pancakes. 'Yuss." We grab our plates and sit down to eat when Marinette gets a text.
"Oh shoot." She says with a fork still in her mouth.
"What is it?" I pick up a piece of pancake with my fork.
"Kagami needs a ride to her fencing lesson. I gotta go, sorry. Thanks for having me over!" She finishes the rest of her breakfast quickly and grabs her bags from my room before zooming off.
"She's a spritely one." My mom chuckles from the kitchen sink.
"Yeah, she's really cool, though." I eat another piece of pancake. "And smart."
"And clearly a good friend. I'm glad you met her." My mom smiles towards me.
"Me too." I smile, finishing the last bite and getting up to set my plate down in the sink while my mom washes the dishes.
"Any plans for today?"
I think for a moment. "Not really. Maybe just exploring the city some more."
"Alright, be safe, dear." She kisses the top of my head.
I head to my room and grab everything I might need before heading out.
I take a new route, admiring the architecture and many storefronts along my path. 'They have a Gucci store? I bet Adrien has a couple of pieces from there.' I snicker.
I take photos along the way before spotting the Grévin Museum. 'Ooo! I wonder if the Chat Noir statue is back!' I make my way over, but stop in my tracks when I see Adrien and Kagami at the front with Marinette and Luka walking up to them. 'Oh shit it's happening.' I sneak up just close enough to he within earshot.
"Yes, that's right, we're more together than ever!" 'Oh, Marinette...'
"Ah, I'm...happy for you two." Adrien smiles. My heart pings in my chest, and I smack it. 'Don't. We both know this was going to happen.'
The conversation continues, and I see Marinette run after Luka in a panic before they all head inside, and I quickly follow behind.
I walk inside and get handed a brochure, then look around, trying to spot them.
They're in the hall of columns, and Marinette and Adrien stand in front of his statue while Marinette is measuring the distance of a kiss. I spot Luka and Kagami talking from a distance away and make my way towards them, hiding not too far behind them.
"Adrien's problem is that he doesn't realize his feelings for Marinette are love." Kagami states.
"I think it's because he's a kind and generous person. He loves everyone, and everyone loves him back. He's lost in a jungle of love. He can't read the signals Marinette sends him." Luka says.
I scoff. "You got that right."
They both flinch and turn towards me. 'Fuck I've been spotted.' Luka smiles.
"What are you doing here?"
I stand next to them. "I was exploring the city when I saw the museum and wanted to check it out. Then I noticed you guys, and my mission changed."
"You also know about Adrien and Marinette?" Kagami asks.
"Of course. Marinette and I had a sleepover last night, and we talked about it, but I knew way before that."
Luka hums and winks at me. I blush a little, and we turn our attention back to the duo. Marinette is running over completely flustered. Kagami goes to join Adrien, and that's when he spots me, and his expression brightens. He waves at me with a blush appearing on his cheeks. Kagami notices and turns to look at me, then back to Adrien.
"What if Adrien and I weren't meant to be together? What if I was meant to be alone? And I can never be myself with anyone? Maybe I should just give up being in love!" Marinette panics.
I laugh, and she then notices my presence. She grabs my shoulders. "I'm so happy you're here. Please! Take my place!" She begs. Luka intervenes.
"I think you may have more in common with Adrien than you think." He hugs Marinette. "Trust in yourself for once."
I look back over to Kagami and Adrien. His eyes meet mine as he and Kagami talk. 'I wish I could hear what they're saying.'
Marinette and Kagami switch places. We follow Marinette and Adrien as we continue the tour of the hall of columns. She awkwardly greets the wax statues as if they were real until she reaches the mayor and mistakes him for a statue. She falls to the floor in surprise, and Adrien laughs. Kagami, Luka, and I all facepalm. "She's hopeless."
"That's true. They're never gonna make it." Kagami agrees.
"Not without a little nudge from fate." Luka adds.
We watch as Adrien helps Marinette up. Luka brings me off to the side. "How are you holding up?"
I look to him confused."I'm doing fine, how are you?"
He chuckles. "I'm doing great. Your face gives you away pretty easily, though."
My eyes widen. "You guessed I liked Adiren just based off of my face? I thought Marinette was the only obvious one." I mumble the last part.
"It was that and how he couldn't stop glancing over at us, at you." I look at him shocked. 'I didn't even notice I was too busy watching Marinette.'
"If either of them don't realize their true feelings, you should step in and take her place." Kagami announces herself.
"Oh god, not you too." I cover my face with my hands.
"Come on, let's leave fate to work its magic, for now." Luka leads as Kagami and I follow behind to another section of the museum.
"Hey! Wait for us! Hey! Wait!" Marinette yells from behind.
We make it to the hall of heroes and stand on the opposite side, watching the duo enter shortly after. Marinette looks around and spots us. Luka presses a red button that closes all the doors in the hall, trapping them inside.
We take some time and go admire the wax statues when they suddenly start to move. Luka grabs Kagami and I's hands as we find a place to hide. I look over to Kagami and see her blushing this time.
We find a hiding spot behind some curtains and watch the statues make their way to the exit and towards the rooftop.
"So when did you start liking Adrien?" Kagami speaks up.
"I-uh, I guess since my first day here. When he walked with me to school."
"Have you talked with him at all?" Luka adds.
"Not exactly, but I function normally around him." They both chuckle knowingly.
"What do you mean not exactly?" Kagami asks.
"We've hung out a few times, and things got a little flirty but, I'm stepping away because Marinette technically has dibs."
"That's sweet of you." Luka mentions.
"It's nothing." I smile. "They'd be really cute together." I look down to my shoes lost in thought.
"What about you, though? You probably could've helped make it less confusing for the both of them if you stepped up sooner. Adrien can experience a real chance at love while Marinette doesn't have to make up her mind anymore." Kagami says.
"I'll be fine. I just got here not too long ago. I don't want to ruin anything." I continue to stare at my shoes, really taking in the detail of them.
"I don't think you could ruin an already scratched record." Luka mentions.
I shake my head. "You guys came here to set up Adrien and Marinette. Not me and Adrien." I remind them.
"We came here to help them realize their true feelings. He practically couldn't take his eyes off you during this, and with Marinette cowardly avoiding him. I don't think he'll be confused after all." Kagami points out.
I look to the both of them and then back down to my shoes. 'She's right. It was to help the two of them realize their feelings for each other and eliminate the confusion. I just didn't expect to help in this way...'
Pink lights surround the interior of the museum, putting the statues back where they belong. We make our way out of our hiding spot and see Adrien running into the museum.
"Hey! Is Marinette with you guys?" Adrien asks out of breath. 'This is it.'
Before any of us can answer, Marinette peeks out behind a statue. "Phew! Are we out of danger? Is it over?"
Adrien runs towards Marinette upon hearing her voice. "Marinette! Yeah, don't worry, everything's okay now!"
Marinette chuckles nervously. "Good! With this whole akumatized villain thing, it's gotten so late, and now, I gotta go." She starts walking away slowly. "Besides, I have some sewing to do and some stickers to stick. See you later, guys!" She runs off and we wave goodbye as Kagami speaks up.
"So, have you figured out how you feel about Marinette?"
"I have, I'm not confused anymore." He looks to me, and my heart flutters a bit. "I gotta go too, I'll see y'all later. Bye!" It's his turn to run off leaving me with Luka and Kagami.
"He definitely chose you." Luka says and I choke on my own spit.
"What do you mean? He just said he wasn't confused anymore about Marinette!"
They both facepalm.
I'm walking home alone, wearing my headphones as it shuffles through songs on my playlist. 'At least my music still exists here.' Die With A Smile by Bruno Mars begins to play. I huff. 'Even my own playlist is against me.'
I make it home and make it to my bedroom and faceplant onto my bed. I grab a pillow and scream into it. "Why is everything in this world so damn complicated??" I hear a knock at my window. I raise my head from the pillow and slowly turn towards the window. Chat Noir waves from the other side. I go to let him in.
We stand there for a moment before he speaks. "Hey."
"Hey, so what brings you here?"
"I actually came to get my bag."
"You're not spending the night?" I pout.
He chuckles. "Not tonight, I have a lot of thinking and planning to do. My dad's also gonna wonder where I am at night so I have to sleep there some nights." He looks around my room. "Where is it?"
I smack my fist onto my palm, remembering I put it in my closet and start walking towards it. "I hid it in here when Marinette and I had a sleepover. I didn't want her bombarding me with questions."
He hums in agreement. "That's fair."
I grab it and hand it to him, and he thanks me.
"I'll be going now. You should get some sleep." He grabs my hand and places a light kiss on top. "Bonne Nuit!" He leaves through the window.
I sigh and lay back down. I pull out my phone and decide to look up information on Ladybug and Chat Noir. It's mostly stuff logging their fights and fansites, including the Ladyblog. There actually is no articles for Adrien being Chat Noir, but there's subreddits for theories of identities for all the heros, only some of them being accurate but they got debunked. 'I don't remember the fight Marinette talked about. There never was a moment that Chat got thrown off the tower like that.' I look up "Chat Noir thrown from Eiffel Tower". Multiple videos pop up a lot being filmed from phones. I click on Alya's.
The video starts, and it's just cut down to the fight on the tower. They're fighting what looks like a giant gargoyle. 'Gargoyle? No way! The one from the movie? But Chat was never thrown off.' I continue to watch, and Chat gets thrown just like Marinette described. The rubble falls on him. The crowd gasps and stays silent. The pieces fell so hard that they shook the ground. I cover my mouth in shock. 'I would've thought he died too. Holy shit...' Ladybug is crying over him. Eventually, Ladybug quickly places her hands on his shoulders and shakes him a bit, calling his name. She then shouts it and pulls him into a hug, and when he hugs back, the crowd cheers.
I turn off my phone and plug it in. 'I really should get some sleep.' I get changed and pass out as soon as my head hits the pillow.
My alarm blares through my room, jolting me awake, I hit snooze. 'Five more minutes...'
I hear a knock at my door and hear my mom's voice. "Dear? Is everything okay? You're gonna be late for school." The covers fly off my bed as I race to get ready. 'Shitshitshitshit.'
I'm running towards the doors to the school, not taking my eyes off them when I bump into someone.
"I'm so sorry! Wait. Adrien?" He looks depressed. "Did something happen? Is everything alright?"
He looks to me with tears brimming in his eyes. "No...not at all. Somebody I care about is really sick...and there's nothing I can do. I feel completely hopeless." He looks down to his feet.
"Hey, everything is gonna turn out alright. She's gonna be fine. I promise."
He quickly raises his head and looks to me shocked. "Really? She'll get better? But how? Actually, don't tell me. Just knowing that she'll get better eventually is enough." He wipes his eyes then smiles warmly at me. "You're really something, you know that?"
I chuckle. "Sure." We walk inside together as the bell rings.
We head to the science room, and we get paired as lab partners. We're mixing together a chemical combination trying to create hand soap. Marinette and Alya are paired up at the table behind us.
"What made you come to the museum yesterday?"
"I was exploring the city when I was curious if the Chat Noir statue was put back."
"Just can't get enough of me, can you?~" He whispers in my ear. I smack his arm, and he laughs.
"I've just about had it with you. I liked it better when you two were separate." He chuckles.
"Megakuma alert! Megakuma alert!" Alya's ring beeps from behind. "Ladybug, Cat Noir, hand your jewels over me, or I'll blast these old monuments all over time like dust in the wind!" Timetagger threatens through the video.
"Oh no, he's going to empty Paris of all of its monuments!" Mylène puts her hands to her face.
Timetagger appears outside the classroom and marks its window with his graffiti while laughing.
"If we stay inside the school, we're gonna end up in another era!" Max shouts.
"Don't panic. Everybody, move outside quickly." Mrs. Mendeleiev directs.
The students run out of the classroom. We all head in the same direction towards the entrance of the school.
"There's no way I'm going back to the Middle Ages because of that loser, Ladybug." Chloe huffs and crosses her arms. 'Shut the fuck up, Chloser.' I silently laugh to myself. I break away from the crowd and go to find the heroes. 'I'll be damned if I miss seeing this battle, irl.'
I run in the direction of the Arc de Triomphe, watching the rooftops. I stop when I spot red and find a hiding spot in view of the action. 'Thank god she has a brightly colored suit.' I pull out my phone and begin recording for Alya.
The duo fly off following Timetagger before landing in a narrow alleyway. They stand back to back, twirling their weapons, forming a shield.
Ladybug stops and turns toward Chat and what she says catches him off guard. He looks to her confused as she laughs awkwardly before getting hit with a bolt and is frozen.
"M'lady!" He notices the second bolt. "Cataclysm!" It crumbles to pieces. He spots another bolt coming from the same direction. "Hey, that's not fair!" He grabs Lady and escapes with her. He runs on the rooftops, continuing to avoid the bolt. I follow them, capturing everything on video. 'Alya's gonna love me for this.'
Chat continues to avade the bolt as he runs down the road, hurdling through vehicles in a traffic jam. When he reaches a clear road, an unsuspecting bus almost crashes into him. He throws Ladybug up in the air and slides below the bus, catching her from the other side. I bite my lip. "Damn, that was hot." I slap my hand over my mouth. 'I need to delete that part.'
He lands in front of the movie theater as the bolt continues to pursue him. "You got the wrong guy! I really don't see us ever working out!"
He hides behind a decorative statue of Chat Noir, which gets hit by the bolt instead. He spots the archer nearby, and I turn my phone towards them and zoom in, getting a good shot of the villain as she shoots five bolts at Chat Noir, and he dives into the sewers with Ladybug and I turn the phone towards Safari as she lands on another rooftop. I decided to end the recording for now and try to find her again. Suddenly, Plagg appears in front of me with Chat Noir's ring. My eyes widen.
"What happened? Isn't Ladybug supposed to be wearing this?"
"She didn't unfreeze! Here, put this on. I'm assuming you'll know what to do?" He places the ring in my hand.
"I know how they work, but that doesn't mean I've ever worn one!"
"Now's your chance to learn! You're the only one that can do this. Now, let's go!" He beams.
I take a deep breath as I put the ring on my right ring finger. 'I never thought I'd get to say it! See it, sure, but this?' "Plagg, claw's out!" Plagg flies into the ring, and I feel a tingling sensation throughout my whole body. I nearly mimic the moves Chat did in his transformation, starting with swiping my fingers over my eyes for the mask. The objects that were cast with shadows become much more visible now. I touch the top of my head as two cat ears appear, and my hair becomes more shaggy. I twirl on one leg with the other bent, similar to Ladybug, as the suit melts over my body before turning to the side, leaning over slightly and looking back to watch the tail appear. I finish with a ferocious pose. I look down, and it looks more like Lady Noire's suit without the green accents and the string around the waist, yet it still has the cat paw detail on the toes from Chat's and the boots are thigh high. The tail is connected to the suit instead of a belt, and the zipper is unzipped just enough to expose the bell attached to a collar around my neck.
Chat, or should I say Mister Bug, lands in front of me. 'I don't know whether to scream or cry.'
"Well, helloooo kitty~" I snicker. "Now this, I can get behind. Your transformation was adorable, by the way."
"You saw that?"
"Of course I did. How could I miss such an opportunity?"
I scoff. "Okay, fair. I didn't know spying on girls was a favorite pass time of yours, sneaky bug~" I point a finger at him.
"Only if it's you~"
"Ha! Now you can't say your confidence comes from the suit!"
"I'm still wearing one, aren't I? Ladybug also has tremendous confidence, but much more focus." He smirks.
"The suit is just your perception of yourself, checkmate." I cross my arms confidently.
"Alright, alright, I'll let you have this one. Now, what shall I call you?"
I think for a moment. 'I can't take Lady Noire, I didn't expect to ever be in this predicament...' "Any suggestions?"
"What about..." He taps a finger on his chin and then his lips curl into a smug grin. "Kitten?"
My cheeks turn beet red, and I feel an intense chill run down my spine. "If you ever call me that again, the punishment will be so cruel, even the devil himself will shudder in fear." I warn.
He laughs and raises his hands. "Okaayy, how about...Purrincess~"
I snort. "No way!" I place a finger on my chin and ponder for a moment. "I think gonna go with Panthera. I like the way it sounds."
"Alright then, Panthera. Let's go kick this gal's ass!" He flings his yo-yo at the rooftop, and he lands perfectly.
I use the baton to fling myself upwards. As I'm being shot towards the roof, it shoots past, and I panic slightly. I retract the baton, and suddenly, I'm falling towards the rooftop screaming.
Chat catches me successfully, I landed bridal style in his arms. I can feel his hands through the suit. 'He wasn't kidding. You can really feel everything.' "Oh, how the tables have turned. The bug catches the cat this time~" I glare at him and get down from his grasp.
"Just give me a minute to adjust, and we'll see who's catching who." I point accusingly, and he laughs.
"Just take a deep breath and focus on where you want to go. Don't overthink it. It was rough my first time, too."
I do as he says. I look towards the next rooftop, take a deep breath, and leap towards it. I'm propelled through the air, feeling like a gust of wind pushed me forward as I successfully land. I hear him cheering as he lands next to me.
He applauds, and I bow gracefully. "You did it! Try with the baton now!"
I hold the baton out in front of me, and I use it similarly to the pole vaulting sport, except the pole continuously extends just enough to land me safely on the opposing rooftop.
He lands next to me again. "You're a natural! Now, let's go, Purrincess~" He winks, and my blush returns.
We hide on a rooftop watching Safari as she scopes out the streets. I use this opportunity to really take in the details of his suit. The build is similar to his regular one. Just add sheilds for his pecs and remove the tail and ears. His green eyes don't help the fact that he looks like a bruised watermelon, but goddamn does he look good in red.
"And so the hunter becomes the hunted. Shall we?" He jumps a bit being taken back from already catching my gaze.
"You know, you look good in red and black, but I think I prefer the cat ears~" I growl flirtatiously. 'What is with me. Stay out of this, Plagg! Don't think I haven't forgotten about your betrayal.' I internally glare at him, but I sense an inner laughter and giddiness. 'Rat.'
He smiles and hums. "I appreciate the compliment but focus, Kitty. We don't want to become the prey again." He winks at me.
"Depends on who's hunting." I fake cough trying masking my words. "Sorry, hairball."
He laughs and gets ready to hurl his yo-yo at Safari, I grab his arm to stop him. "Wait! The akuma isn't on her."
He looks to me with furrowed eyebrows. "Where is it then?"
"At your house, in her room. She has a safari explorers suit, right?"
His eyes widen in realization. "She does!" He kisses the top of my head. "I love your brain." He flies off on his yo-yo.
I blush but shake my head and quickly follow behind.
"Hey!" Safari shouts, noticing us and shoots bolts aimed at each of us. We successfully dodged and landed on a rooftop. He hurls his yo-yo at her, grabbing the crossbow, snapping it in half, and looks to me shocked yet impressed.
"Told you~" She grunts, pulls out her whip, and hurls a chimney at him. "Hey! Don't you dare try to crush this bug!"
"It's not the only thing I'm gonna crush!" Safari breaks off a large chunk of another chimney with her whip, then throws it at the us. We dodge, but the object changes course mid-air and flies back from behind, and we dodge it again. "Destroying my gadgets doesn't destroy all my power. Most importantly, the power that never misses a target. The hunt is on!"
We dodge a few objects thrown at us. I land on the ground near the movie theater and turn around back to the action to see him get hit with a chunk of building, losing his grip, and he's falling towards me and I successfully catch him, bridal style. 'Man, I love this suit.'
"Now look who's falling for me. Does the cat get anything for catching the bug?~" His cheeks turn nearly as red as his suit. I chuckle and put him down.
"Relinquish your miraculous!"
"Monarch's the one who wants the Miraculous. What about you, Safari, what do you want?" I ask her.
"The same thing. A wish. Everyone wants to have one, right?"
"There will be a price to pay!" Mister bug warns.
"I have nothing left to lose!"
His lips curl into a frown, and he looks concerned. "You do! You can lose yourself and the ones you love. You can lose anyone who loves you back. No matter who you are, there is always someone out there who loves you!"
I've heard the phrase before, but standing next to him. His whole body is radiating with passion. It's chilling.
"Lucky charm!" Instead of a perfume bottle, it looks like a whip similar to Safari's only it's red with black polka dots. He looks to me and smiles, handing me the whip.
"You'll have to distract her while I go deal with the akuma. You think you got this?"
"Fuck yeah! Go get em Kitty- I mean Mister Bug." I giggle and take the whip from him. He takes off, and I see Safari not too far behind.
"Oh no, you don't! I'm the only one that can successfully purr-sue him!" 'Goddammit.' I use my whip, and it wraps around her waist. I pull her down with all the force in my body, and she slams into the concrete, making a crater in the middle of the street. I become giddy and look at my hands, then flex my arms in different bodybuilder poses, taunting Safari.
"Ooo~ Nature fights back, and it doesn't feel too good, don't it?"
She grunts and slams her fist in the rubble. "Wretched cat! Someone oughta put you down!"
I fly up and land on a rooftop. "Gonna have to catch me first, paw patrol!" I run off in a random direction, anywhere away from Adrien's house.
She chases after me, hurling objects and rubble my way as I gracefully dodge or use the whip to throw them elsewhere. "Too slow! Gonna have to try harder than that to catch this feline~" I laugh and land on a rooftop. I see Adrien's house only a few houses down. 'Dangit, I was supposed to lead her away from here.' I hear a long scream from behind me and turn around just in time to see Safari with her fist raised, ready to pulverize me. She misses and hits the rooftop, but the impact sent me flying backward, even closer to Adrien's house. 'Gah! Why hasn't he fixed it yet? What's holding him?' Safari lands in front of me, and we grab each others hands, pushing the other back and forth, trying to outpower one another. "Give up already! You don't have what it takes to be a real hero!" I'm filled with rage.
"You have no idea the things I'm capable of." I headbutt her, and she lets go groaning and holding her head. "This is nothing compared to the shit I've been through. Unlike you, who's fighting against children to get what they want. Not every inconvenience needs to be solved with a battle. Get some common sense. Read the room every once in a while!" I'm speaking more to Monarch than Safari. 'I know the bastard can hear me.' "Stop and think for once, that maybe things were meant to happen regardless of ones wishes. Some people are meant to leave, and you won't always know why, but you move forward anyway. Crazy situations happen here all the time. People leave, you wake up and suddenly nothing looks familiar. You fall in love, you live your life the best way you can, surrounding yourself with people you want to experience it with. Anything can happen. You just gotta make it happen yourself and not involve other worldly powers to make it happen. You have that power already." She has a purple butterfly outline around her face.
"Tsk, like you know anything. I need this wish to make everything right."
I roll my eyes. "Did you not hear anything I just said? Just spend time with them! Talk to them! Go see a movie, drink coffee, and enjoy the little things! Be present! The present has no problems! It only exists to exist! We only exist to exist, and we don't have a lot of time to do that either! Just make the time you have matter, and don't forget about the ones who love you back. They'll make any moment feel like an eternity."
She stays silent, just staring at me before gasping and falling down, surrounded by a black and purple fog. 'Yes! He did it!' Mister Bug lands near us and I hand him the whip.
"Miraculous Mister Bug!" Pink lights surround the city, and I watch in amazement. 'This is like that one scene from Tangled.' Nathalie is now on her hands and knees, coughing a bit. I go over and place her arm around my neck, helping her stand up. "Come on, let's get you home."
We land at the Agreste mansion in the courtyard, and Gabriel runs outside.
"Is she alright?" Gabriel says, worried.
"Yes, she's just fine. Just needs a lot of rest, especially after this."
"Forcing such a fragile person to carry out his twisted plans! Monarch's a monster! He'll pay for this." Mister Bug says angrily.
I hand Nathalie to Gabriel, and he hastily takes her and brings her inside. Mister Bug and I fly off.
We land on a rooftop with a view of the Eiffel Tower in the distance. We bump fists.
"Pound it!" 'I've always wanted to do this!'
"You we're amazing today. The black really suits you~" He smiles at me.
"Only cause I wear it better than you~" I cross my arms and teasingly lean towards him.
He laughs. "Come on, we gotta return Ladybug's miraculous. She's probably freaking out right now."
My eyes widen. "Right! I almost forgot. Plagg, claw's in!" The entire suit melts, and the confidence and super strength dissipate with it. I'm feeling slightly more winded, and the world looks a little darker again, I squint my eyes, trying to see within the shadows again, and Mister Bug laughs.
"What are you doing?"
"The world got darker. Do you have night vision?" I stop squinting and look at him.
"I thought you knew?" He tilts his head, confused.
"I've never worn a miraculous, and they didn't mention every detail. I don't think you know me as well as you think you do." His transformation ends, and Tikki pops out. Adrien, now, steps towards me.
"I think I want to."
I blush. "I...What are we doing here?"
He steps closer. "You tell me."
"I'll tell you! We gotta go return Ladybug's miraculous before she has an aneurysm and before I die from starvation! Let's go!" Plagg reminds us. I throw a death glare at him, remembering his betrayal from before and while transformed. "I didn't even use your power. How are you starving?"
"You're intense emotions wore me out."
Adrien responds before I can. "He's right. We should really get going." Adrien holds out his hand. I take off his ring, placing it in his hand. He transforms and grabs me, then heads off towards my house.
"Hi! I'm Tikki! I-"
"I'm sorry to interrupt Tikki, but seeing as we might not have a lot of time to talk. I know who you are, I know what you are, I know Ladybug's identity...just assume I know a lot! I may not be 100% accurate, but some things came out to be true! It's so nice to finally meet you! I wish we had more time to talk! I have so many questions!" I exclaim over the sounds of the wind. She floats there dumbfounded before looking to Chat Noir, seeing him unphased. She looks back to me, and slowly, an excited look spreads across her whole face.
"Oh my gosh! That makes so much more sense! I was wondering why you weren't phased at all during this whole time! How did you find out Ladybug's identity?" She gasps. "You haven't told anyone have you?" She looks to Chat Noir.
I laugh. "No, of course not! Not even he knows!" I gesture my head towards him. "I'm very careful with the information I give out." Chat snickers, and I hit his side with my leg. "Nothing extremely important was shared. As for how I found out, that's a long story."
She giggles. "Well, I hope we meet again, my holder loves you!" Chat looks to me real quick before his focus is back on the next rooftop. We land safely at my window, and I head inside. Tikki flies up to my cheek and hugs me, I place my hand behind her to return it. She flies back over to Chat, he winks, and they fly off to wherever Marinette is hiding.
I check my phone and see many texts from Marinette asking if I've seen her earrings and describes them. I ask where she is, and to stay there, they should show up eventually. She's at the movie theater. I text Adrien where she is, and he thanks me. 'Hopefully, she wasn't freaking out for long.'
Marinette texts me back after a few minutes, asking if her and Alya could have a sleepover. I, of course, say yes. "Girl's night!" I run to go ask my parents.
"CAN I HAVE A SLEEPOVER?" I run into the living room. My parents are already looking up at me, surprised and they smile. "Sure, sweetie. Should I prepare any snacks?" My mom asks.
"Yes, please!" I yell as I run back to my bedroom to set up for girl's night. 'AN ICONIC MARINETTE, ALYA SLEEPOVERRR!' I rummage through my skin care and find an opened pack of face mask sheets with a few still remaining and a few cream face masks, grabbing those. I grab my makeup kit as well. I pulled out the games from the previous sleepovers and a few other board games as well. I run to the kitchen for sodas and water.
"Did they eat dinner yet?" My mom says as she prepares a charcuterie board. I look at it in amazement.
"I'll ask." I grab a bag and fill it with drinks. I spot a box of capri sun's, grabbing a few of those as well. I throw a few chip bags on top of the drinks and run back to my room. Placing the bag down next to the makeup and skin care. I light a candle and put it on my dresser, displaying the skin care next to it all cutesy, and I place my makeup near the dresser on the floor. I set up the snacks on my desk and the games near the desk. I text Marinette and Alya if they've had dinner, they haven't.
I go to let my mom know. "They say they haven't."
"Ok, perfect. Thank you." She says as she chops up strawberries.
"No problem." I stop in front of the linen closet and pull out extra blankets and pillows and place them in my room before going back to get the air mattress.
I put a cute fitted sheet over the air mattress after inflating it and push it right next to my bed, after scooting my desk and nightstand out of the way, creating a giant bed. I add the pillows and blankets, making them look perfect. I look around my room, admiring my work. My mom knocks on the door.
"Honey? Your friends are here. Can I-"
I throw the door open, spooking everyone a little, I giggle and apologize.
"Come on in! Place your stuff wherever and make yourselves comfy." I beam.
They walk in, and they're astonished. "Marinette! Why don't you ever set up our sleepovers like this!" Alya says as she places her bags near my mirror. Marinette sets hers by the window. "This actually works out great cause I also brought my makeup and skincare!" Alya squeals. "This is gonna be so fun! We should totally have more after this!"
Marinette laughs. "We haven't even started the first one."
"Oh puh-lease, as soon as I arrived is when it started. I'm the life of the party, you know." She flips her hair. Marinette and I giggle.
"I wasn't sure what to pull out, so I just grabbed everything pretty much. Ever since Marinette and I had a sleepover, I wanted to have the next one be with you, too." I sheepishly smile.
"What!?" She turns to Marinette. "You already had a sleepover here and didn't tell me?"
Marinette raises her hands and laughs, being caught red-handed. "She just wanted one with me. It wasn't this extravagant, and we only played video games and talked! I promise!"
Alya suspiciously glares between us. "Okay, fine, but only if we all agree that this is the first official sleepover."
"Well, duh, I wouldn't have set everything up otherwise. It's not a girl's night without the girls."
"Exactly! Now." Marinette closes the door and sits down on the air mattress, Alya joins her and I go behind them on my bed. We all face each other. "Did you see the new hero? I saw it all on the Ladyblog when Alya came over to my house. They had Chat Noir's miraculous."
"Is this why you wanted a sleepover?" I laugh.
"Yes! I was too excited to talk with you guys about it, but I had to show the video to Marinette first. She's my co-founder for the Ladyblog." She winks at Marinette.
"Can I see the video?"
"Of course!" She pulls out her phone. "She was killer! I must say, it's the best Chat Noir suit I've ever seen. It's so chic!"
The video plays, and it's when we were flying over the rooftops and land to spy on Safari. 'Oh god..'
"Chat Noir must know her because, look! Here!" The part where he kisses the top of my head plays. "Oh, Chat Noir is Mister Bug, by the way, and Ladybug is Lady Noire. It rarely happens, though. Marinette says that she watched Ladybug get frozen, and Chat brought her to safety, and she probably didn't unfreeze when her transformation wore off." Alya says.
"I saw the first half of the fight but ended up getting frozen myself." I rub a hand on the back of my neck and laugh nervously.
Marinette pouts and mumbles. "I wish that were me."
"Wait. What happened to Adrien and Luka?"
"She gave up on them because, and I quote, "Loving Adrien has caused nothing but problems in my life." She wanted to be able to focus on her future instead of boys," She gives Marinette an exasperated look. "but decided it was a much better idea to be in love with Chat Noir because apparently he doesn't cause problems in her life like loving Adrien did."
"Why not Luka? He seemed to fix your problems."
"Exactly! That's what I said! See? Even she agrees." Alya exclaims.
Marinette scoffs. "He's just a friend!"
"That's what you said about Adrien." I give Marinette a teasing look.
"Took the words right out of my mouth." Alya high fives me.
"This is different!" Alya and I look at each other and then back to Marinette. "I swear! I'll prove it, Chat Noir and I will fall so madly in love and get married, have kids, and have a hamster. You'll see!" She crosses her arms in a huff, and Alya and I laugh.
"Anyway, who do you think she is?" Alya plays the video.
"I don't know. She doesn't look like any of the other heroes either. Chat Noir had to pick her, right? He should know who she is." Marinette sighs. "He'd never tell, though, simply to protect their identity. Which I can't blame him for." She huffs.
"The miraculous have little creatures with them, right? I read about it online. Is it possible that the creature is able to bring a miraculous to someone?" I internally smile.
"Yes, and yes, you could be right. Maybe when Ladybug detransformed, it brought the miraculous to Chat, and then his kwami brought his miraculous to her. The kwami would've had to have known her previously, though, to bring it to her once they switched. So either Chat knows her and asked his kwami to go introduce himself, or she knows who Chat Noir is and has met his kwami before this fight. I think we all know the more plausible option. Nobody knows who Chat Noir is, not even Ladybug. He'd be stupid to tell anyone, too. If it is true, and that person were to be caught by Monarch, I can't imagine what Monarch would do to get that information out of them." Alya shudders.
"Ahaha...yeahh...riight. It'd be so stupid, I mean, like, how do you even figure something like that out without stalking stalking them 24/7 or some unexplainable reason or just a really good guess." I laugh awkwardly.
Marinette laughs. "Totally! I can't imagine being that crazy to stalk superheroes. They would constantly be putting themselves at risk." She glances at Alya quickly, and Alya elbows her shoulder.
"I am curious about it. Who wouldn't be right? I understand the risks if we got to know their identities, though. Besides, I love a good mystery." 'I've always known. It's in the theme song.' I absentmindedly start humming the tune.
"Mhm." Alya looks stiff but nods her head slowly. "Wait. I don't recognize that melody, and trust me, I've heard every single Ladybug and Chat Noir song ever composed."
My eyes widen, and my adrenaline starts to rush. I suddenly become very giddy and excited. "So, nobody's made a song with that kind of melody? Ever??" I take a deep breath. "Specifically in relation to Ladybug and Chat Noir?"
Alya and Marinette look to each other, confused, then back to me. Marinette is listening intensely.
Alya blinks a couple of times. "Yes?"
"That's..." I start to laugh, but slap a hand over my mouth. "Sorry, it's just a song I've had stuck in my head for days. I just thought it was something I heard while exploring the city." 'I mean, It makes sense, the lyrics might not be the same, but I could've sworn-'
Alya grabs my shoulders and shakes them."YOU HAVE TO CREATE IT! Let's start pronto! We can get Luka involved, too!"
"Wait! Slow down! I-I only have the chorus! Let me write it down." I go to grab my notebook out of my desk drawer. 'I can finish the rest in private.'
I write down the chorus ending at 'the power of love always so strong' lyric. "I couldn't think of much after this." I give it to Alya. She practically rips it from my hands and excitedly reads. Marinette reads over her shoulder.
Marinette giggles. "The power of love?"
"Well- yeah! Didn't she make a speech or something about it in the early days? I can change it if it's too cheesy."
"No! I think it's very fitting. It's just funny to think of it as both a power and a lyric." She awkwardly giggles and blushes, rubbing the back of her neck.
"She's probably also thinking Chat Noir is filled with the power of-" Marinette covers Alya's mouth and embarrassingly smiles at me.
I laugh. "He's filled with puns, that's for sure." They both laugh.
"Okay, let's finish the video. It's an insane one." Alya reminds us.
She presses play, and I stop Mister Bug from throwing his yo-yo. "I'm still so curious why she stopped him. It was the perfect moment to attack!" Alya comments.
"Right? It looked like they were gonna start heading away from Safari before she noticed them leaving and attacked." Marinette adds.
They turn back to the video, and I'm about to catch the bug. "Oo!Oo!Oo! I was close enough to film what they were saying, listen!"
"Now look who's falling for me~ Does the cat get anything for catching the bug?" I say from the video.
Alya giggles and becomes giddy. "See? They totally know each other! Look how red his cheeks are!"
"They're not that red..." Marinette grumbles.
The video continues, and Mister Bug hands me the whip. 'Oh god, please no.'
He flies off. 'No..' I notice myself in the video get angry. 'Nonononono.' I faceplant into the mattress.
"Oh no, you don't! I'm the only one that can successfully purr-sue him!" I hear from the video and groan, they both turn to look at me.
I raise my head, and when I notice them staring, my eyes widen a bit. "Does every Chat Noir have to make puns?"
They both laugh, and I silently let out a sigh.
"I think it comes with the suit at this point." Alya giggles.
"Nobody can do it like Chat Noir, though. His are the best." Marinette lightly retorts.
"I don't know, with this new feline, he may have some competition." Alya states.
I smirk. 'Hehehe, I'm telling him that.'
I look back to the video in time to see Safari get slammed into the ground. "Look at that crater! Have you ever seen Chat Noir do something like that?" Alya looks to Marinette with a smug exasperated expression. Marinette rolls her eyes but stays silent. Only a few low grumbles are heard from her.
I'm then being chased by Safari and land on the rooftop where the battle ends. Alya in the video makes her way to a rooftop within view, and surprisingly earshot. I make my speech and Safari falls, and Mister Bug appears shortly after.
"She's crazy smart for a Chat Noir." Alya comments. Marinette hums in agreement.
"I'll give her that one, Chat could never talk sense like that into a villain without being Mister Bug." Marinette laughs.
"How did they know where to go? I never picked up on anything the villan did to give that away." Alya ponders.
"M-maybe, when they broke her crossbow and no akuma came out, they decided to look elsewhere!" I say nervously.
"Maybe, but they didn't break anything else. She had a whip and a tracker. Those could've held the akuma. It was always on the villain before this fight, this is the first where it wasn't. It has to be because of Panthera. She must've known something about the villain prior." Alya mentions.
Marinette nods. "Even Ladybug would've had to break everything on them before figuring out there wasn't an akuma. She's truly a mysterious black cat." Alya hums in agreement.
"Why don't we do each other's makeup or something!" I force out a laugh. "I'm kind of tired of superhero talk. We can save more for later."
Alya jumps up in excitement. "Yes! I've been wanting to do your makeup for a while! I got this new lipgloss, and I really think it'll be your color!"
Alya continues to talk as she heads toward her makeup. 'I don't know how Marinette or Adrien deal with this shit. As if I don't already have enough to worry about, now I have a secret identity? Good grief.'
Alya is working on my eyeshadow as Marinette rants about how cool and hot Chat Noir is.
"And there was this other time he made this really good pun and I had the best comeback! I was all-"
"Marinette, I love you, but you've mentioned this story a bazillion times within the past 30 minutes." Alya says as she begins on my lips.
She smiles, embarrassed, and laughs slightly. "Sorry, he's just so-"
"Cool, we get it. It's incredible you can be this obsessed and still be able to talk with him." Alya comments.
Before Marinette can continue, my mom knocks on the door.
"Girls! Dinner is ready!"
"Thank you!" We say in unison and head down to the kitchen.
At the table, we all sit and conversate over the meal.
"Mrs. L/N, this is the best chicken piccata I've ever had. You have to give my mom the recipe!" Alya compliments.
Marinette excitedly nods. "My parents are the best at baking, but it's nothing compared to this!" She shoves another forkful in her mouth and sighs dreamily.
My mom blushes, and thanks the girls.
"Y/n, I love your makeup. Which one of you girls did it for her?"
"Mom! I can do my makeup just fine, thank you!" She laughs.
"I did! Doesn't it bring out her eye color? And the lipgloss? Like, are you kidding me? You have to let me do your makeup for the dance." Alya turns to me.
"You guys keep mentioning the dance as if I'm going." I pick up a caper with one of the prongs on my fork, and the silence creates a thick atmosphere.
"You're not going?" Marinette says, sounding defeated.
I frown a little. "Nobody's asked me yet. They all assume I'm already going."
"Pfft, who cares if you get asked to the dance. Let's just all go as a group. Me, you, Marinette, Adrien, and Nino! It'll be so fun, and there's no way I'm letting you miss your first dance at this school while I'm attending. Besides, it's the last dance before we all graduate." Alya takes a bite.
My eyes widen in shock. "It's the last one?" 'Where am I?' "I thought we had at least another school year. 'Okay, how much exactly do I not know? I need to get out more and not just to explore the city.'
"Why do you think we had the career day? Or the parent teacher conference regarding our graduation? We wouldn't be prepping this much with an entire year ahead of us. That's what this year was for." Marinette reminds me.
"Oh yeah, I guess the transfer and starting at a new school threw me off. I also just wanted to see you guys more often."
"Awe!" Marinette and Alya say in unison.
"We'll always have time to see each other! I'll make sure of it! Speaking of, Alix's father invited the class to the museum tomorrow. He found another letter from her and he wants to read it with all of us present. I know you didn't get the chance to really talk with her but you're in our class and I'm sure you'll meet her eventually. She's really cool." Marinette says.
"You already have our permission, dear." My dad smiles at me, and I smile back.
"Thanks, dad."
We finish our meal and head back to the room after helping clean up.
"Alya! You have to see the dress I made her for the dance! You can match her makeup to it!" Marinette exclaims.
"Absolutely! I'll never refuse getting to see a Marinette original. Go pull it out, girlfriend!" Alya shoos at me.
I walk over to my closet and pull out the dress. Alya is blown away.
"MARINETTE DUPAIN-CHENG!" She grabs her by the shoulders. "If you ever, doubt yourself. I will hunt you down to the ends of the earth and beat some sense into you."
Marinette laughs. "Y/n said the same thing pretty much."
Alya walks over to me, kisses my forehead, and looks me straight in the eyes. "I love you."
I blush and am taken a bit back. "Thank you? I love you, too." I giggle. "Oh! Did I ever send you the videos I recorded?"
"Videos? No, you haven't."
"Here, let me send them to you now before I forget." I pull out my phone and send her them, and she excitedly pulls out her phone.
"Thank you! I know what I'll be doing over the next few days." She begins watching the videos sitting down on the air mattress.
Marinette walks over to the board games and picks up cards against humanity. "No way! You have this? Can we play?"
"Totally! Alya, you wanna join?"
"Absolutely!" She turns off her phone and gets up, walking over to the center of the room.
I grab three cushions and a few pillows and make a little seating area. We all pick our spots and deal out the cards. Alya is the first to read.
"This ain't my first rodeo, kid. Mama knows her way around blank. This should be good." She smirks.
I look down to my cards, and there's one I don't recognize from the game. It just reads, "Lucky charm!" 'oohhh. myyyy. lanta! There's a miraculous pack. I could die.' I read through the rest and land on the card that reads "Uranus." I giggle as I place it facedown in the center. Marinette places hers down after.
Alya picks them up and begins to read. "This ain't my first rodeo, kid. Mama knows her way around certain things, but not others. Okay." She flips the other card and bursts into laughter. "This one wins. Which one of you said Uranus?" I giggle as I take the black card from her. "I figured it was you."
Marinette reads now. "Hey baby, come back to my place and I'll show you blank." I immediately slap down a card, and they both share a look. Alya then places her card.
"Hey baby, come back to my place and I'll show you a PowerPoint presentation."
Alya busts out laughing. "Don't!" She laughs harder. "Don't even read the next one, I refuse to let you pick it." She turns to me. "You're on a roll girl!"
Marinette looks to me. "This was your card? I mean, it's accurate and I don't even have," She flips the other card and gives Alya an exasperated look. "Daniel Radcliffe's delicious asshole? Really Alya?"
She giggles. "It's Nino's favorite."
I snicker and grab the black card, and pick out another from the deck. "My life is ruled by a vicious cycle of blank and blank." Alya and Marinette ponder over their options.
They place down their 2 cards, and I pick up the first pile. "My life is ruled by a vicious cycle of cat-related puns and demonic possession." I giggle. 'If only they knew.' I pick up the second pile. "My life is ruled by a vicious cycle of using my butt as a microwave and a photo of a buff cowboy. I think we know the winner here." I place the black card on the cat puns and demonic possession.
"Yes!" Alya exclaims. "I knew that would get you." Alya picks up another black card from the deck. "MFL Je voundrais un annanas is French, for I would like a blank. Do you know any french, y/n?"
I shake my head. "I never took the time to learn. I know some words and phases, though." She hums and nods her head.
"I can't wait to see what your card will be."
I look at my cards, and I don't have any ones that I think would be funny or even fit, so I just place a random one.
Alya picks up the cards. "MFL Je voundrais un annanas is French for I would like a big black dick." She giggles and flips the other and bursts into laughter. Marinette and I look to each other, waiting for Alya to read, but she can't stop laughing, so she places down the second card. It reads "a bigger, blacker dick." Marinette and I join in Alya's laughter and high five.
"Ugh, I wish I could give it to you both. I'll give it to Marinette since she doesn't have any yet."
"Just you wait! I'm gonna have the entire deck of black cards!" Marinette retorts.
"Sure you will, it's your turn to read. So go." Alya replies.
She rolls her eyes and picks up a card. "My name is Peter Parker. I was bitten by a radioactive spider and now I'm blank."
Alya and I snort, and we look to each other shocked, but brush it off. We place down our cards at the same time.
"Okay." Marinette picks up the cards. "My name is Peter Parker. I was bitten by a radioactive spider, and now I'm generally having no idea what's going on." She snorts and picks up the other. "Adolf Hitler? I'm going with having no idea what's going on, at least that's accurate. I'm assuming."
Alya cheers. "I'm tied with you now!"
I hum in agreement and pick up another card. "I'm very smart. I'm currently reading a 500-page book about blank." Alya slaps down a card. Marinette is still deciding.
After she places it, I pick it up, and the first thing I see is a photo of Chat Noir on the card. I slap the card facedown and blush, hearing Alya snicker shortly after. I turn to look at her and glare before sighing and handing her the black card.
"You didn't even read it! What was this card anyway?" Marinette picks it up and blushes. "Alya!"
Alya raises her hands in defense, laughing. "I couldn't resist! You may have a competition, Marinette." She turns to me. "Looks like someone also tends to fall in love more than once." She smirks.
"I! It's not!" I sigh. "Okay, fine." I look to Marinette. "Did you tell her I liked Adrien too?"
"Yes, it was part of her reasoning to stop loving him because he seems so infatuated with you." Alya mentions.
I sit there and stare at the deck for a moment. 'I have noticed him pursuing. I don't know why, but if I'm the first girl to continue to reciprocate his feelings, I guess it makes sense.' I shake my head. "It's risky, I don't want his fangirls wrath unleashed upon me, and his father won't allow us anyhow. I'm not gonna outright deny how I feel, though, unless I feel that it's for the greater good."
Alya groans. "You sound like Marinette. Why do you girls insist on not accepting to be happy! The whole point is to not care about the risks because of how you feel for them! I'll let Marinette have her reasons, but I refuse to go through this twice!"
"You don't need to help set us up or anything, trust me. I think he knows how I feel, I didn't directly say "Adrien I think you're so cute, and I have a huge crush on you" or anything like that. We had a coffee date, though, and he's been to my house a few times. We're more friends than anything. I still don't fully know him and vice versa." 'Yeah, right...sort of.' "So any feelings I do have would be more infatuation than knowing what he likes n such. I can drop this easier than Marinette. Only fate will be able to help himself decide who he truly wants. He told me about his love life a bit, and I even helped him a few times. I don't want to add to the confusion is basically what I'm trying to say."
"Wow. That's actually a decent reason. Instead of him causing problems in your life, you'd be causing problems in his." Alya states.
"Luka and Kagami said he gets friendship love confused with relationship love. I agree. I'd rather be his friend than be the first person to break his heart if we don't end up working out. Do you know how rare it is for your first relationship to be your last?" I add.
"You guys are giving me more validation to not go after Adrien." Marinette proudly exclaims. Alya and I groan.
"I'm staying away from him for you." I retort.
Marinette stammers. "What?? I thought- But- I-" She stares at the deck dumbfounded. "You can't!"
"How bout we get back to the game? It's girl's night, not girls talk about boys night." I suggest.
"Thank you." Alya says as she picks up a card. "Who's the next superhero/sidekick duo?"
I look at my cards and smile, placing 2 cards down proudly. Marinette places hers.
Alya picks them up. "Okay, the next superhero/sidekick duo is, potato and footlong hotdog!" Marinette giggles. "And the next one is, the boy who sucks farts out of my sweatpants and," She presses her lips together in a smile. "dem titties." She says nothing and hands me the black card and that's when we can't contain our laughter.
"I think I'm gamed out." Alya stretches. "I'll let you have this one." She points a finger at me with a smile. "But next time, I'm kicking your ass!"
We put the game away and decide to do skincare. We all picked our own sheet mask and are fitting them to our faces.
Alya gasps. "I didn't know you could paint!" She exclaims walking over to it. "The detail on this is criminal."
Marinette goes to look at it. "Wow! You even got the slits in his eyes! How did you make the green go all the way?"
"White paint as the first layer and the same green for his pupils, just watered down slightly and a slightly darker green for the outline and details." I fix the chin part on my mask and join them. "I'm still not finished. It's missing something and I can't figure out what, so I've been just adding more details and adjusting things trying to see if that fixes it."
"Maybe add another subject? The sky looks great but it takes up a lot of space. The heros aren't big enough to fill in the space. It's like a pattern on a shirt, if there's too much going on it can ruin it and if there's not enough it can look bland. There's a fine balance to it, and some composition skills." Marinette shrugs.
I look back to the painting and the sky does take up a lot of space. "Should I add more clouds? The sun?"
"What about the other heros?" Alya turns to me with a beaming smile.
I place my hand under my chin and ponder at the painting for a sec. "Yeah, I think I will. Do you have any photos I could use for reference?"
"Yes! It'll be payment for sending me the videos finally." She laughs and pulls out her phone. I immediately hear my phone buzz.
"Thanks!" I smile. "I'll save them later when I'm in the mood to paint again."
"Are you gonna paint more? Other than just this one?" Marinette asks.
"Maybe, I'll see if I get inspired after this."
I walk over to my window and in the distance I can see the sparkles from the Eiffel Tower. 'I would both love and hate to live close to that.' Marinette joins me.
"What are you thinking about?" She asks.
"How annoying the sparkles from the tower must be if you live right next to it."
She laughs. "It must feel like having paparazzi out your window every night."
Alya appears from behind. "Chloe must love it."
"And Adrien would hate it!" I add and we laugh. "It still blows my mind how different those two are. He gives new students a tour. She threatens you as a welcome gift."
"You don't know the half of it." Marinette sighs. "Her and Lila are practically besties. Oh! What was the plan you mentioned in the resistance meeting room that day?"
"Oh yeah. We can't do anything right now. She has her claws in too deep. She is nice to me, though and I want to utilize that."
Marinette beams. "That would be great! We can secretly record her or something."
I shake my head. "She would make everyone believe it's a fake, we have to catch her off guard. We wait for the opportunity to arise where we can expose her in front of everybody."
Alya scoffs and walks away. "Have fun planning, you two. I don't see why you think she's lying. She's been proven innocent for every accusation so far."
"That's because I didn't have her on my team!" Marinette excitedly points to me. "She'll be our spy! We can gather intel and see what she's doing behind the scenes, so we can be ready for said opportunity."
"Nooo, just be patient and let her do her thing for now. We have other stuff to worry about."
"Yeah like Adrien." Marinette throws a pillow at Alya.
"And Chat Noir!" She exclaims.
She grunts and moves the pillow off her. "You two are hopeless. Play rock, paper, scissors and then go after whoever. I don't care at this point."
Marinette and I look to each other and laugh.
We throw out our masks and get changed into our pj's. We plug in our phones and get cozy.
"This is where boy talk would've been acceptable." Alya says.
"We can still do it but I don't know if you'd last 5 minutes of her and I gawking over our boys." Marinette giggles.
"You're right, let's sleep, and you can see your first boy tomorrow. Bonne Nuit."
"Bonne Nuit." Marinette and I say in unison and I turn off the lamp.
