A week has passed, and still no sign of an akuma. So far, my prediction is right. It only helps a little, though. Gotta wait at least a couple more weeks before any real answers are given. It's relieving to know that even with sharing what I know, it might not change things.
Adrien started going after Marinette, and she's also refusing him, but I literally watched this happen before. I've been offering advice and possible ways to try to win her heart, but goddamn this girl is determined to not fall for anything. I don't blame her knowing what she's going through. I need a break from all this. I need to find something else to distract me or at least take my mind off all this for a while.
I walk along the Seine and spot a pirate ship. 'LUUKAA, I forgot he existed, yikes.' I walk closer, finally getting to admire it in real life it's much bigger than how it's portrayed in the show. It does not do it justice. I look around and realize nothing here is cartoonish. I'm surprised these weren't my first thoughts. I'm basically living in the live action version of the show. I walk to the other side to get a better angle of the ship and pull out my phone to take a picture.
"She's a beauty, aye?" A womans voice appears behind me. 'Luka and Juleka's mooomm' I turn around and greet her. "She's a timeless relic, surely a sight for sore eyes."
She beams with excitement. "I'm glad you agree! The names Anarka. I can give you a tour if you'd like?"
"Yes, please!" I excitedly follow behind. I get shown the deck, the capitans quarters, the bow which I pretend to be on the titanic, and she laughs. She brings me below deck, and I catch a glimpse into Luka's room and see the tip of a guitar. It's no surprise that he's here.
"Would you like to meet my son?" She gestures towards his room.
"I would love to." We make our way towards it, and with each step, my heartbeat quickens. 'Please have eyelashes.' His head perks up at the intrusion, but he gently smiles when he sees his mom and I. 'He dooo.'
"This is my son Luka, he's Juleka's brother. She goes to your school while I homeschool him here. It gives him more time to focus on his music. I'll let you two talk. I have some business to take care of in my capitans quarters. Don't do nothin' wouldn't do, which isn't a lot." She cackles and takes her leave.
"Hi there, have you met Juleka yet? She's pretty shy, so I would be more surprised if you had met her." He chuckles.
"I haven't. I hardly notice she's there, but I'm gonna guess she's pretty good at that, too." It's my turn to laugh.
"You're right about that." His eyebrows furrow a little. "You seem a bit troubled, like the weight of the world is resting on your shoulders. It's kind of like." He strums a few strings on his guitar, and it sounded a little confusing at first, but with each strum, it was like a serpent being summoned from a basket or a siren luring their prey. I close my eyes and let the music wash over me.
I'm awoken from my trance when he stops. "Do you want to talk about it?" I think for a moment and realize he knows their identities, Alya does too, but I can't exactly trust her with this information yet, but Luka, on the other hand.
"I do. If you're okay with me sounding completely insane." I look at him expectantly.
"I don't mind insane." He smiles.
I take a deep breath and take a seat next to him. "Okay, so, you know Ladybug and Chat Noir's identities, right?" His eyes widen, but he nods. "I know them too, I also know much more than that. It's complicated to explain, I'm still figuring it out myself, but I know almost too much and possibly nothing at all. It's driving me mad trying to make sense of it all. To put it as plainly as I can. I was somehow put here with extensive knowledge of many secrets and occurrences that haven't happened yet and have also happened before. I'm still uncertain if the stuff that hasn't happened yet will still play out like I know they did. I haven't told this to anyone either. I figured that since you know their identities and what you saw and went through, I figured it wouldn't sound as crazy to say it to you versus anyone else." I look towards him, and he seems to be lost in thought. Probably not the conversation he was expecting, but I desperately needed someone to talk to about this.
"How do you know about the occurrences that happened before? What about private moments?" His gaze catches mine.
"That... Okay. This is where I'm really gonna sound crazy but I'm from a different universe, and in my universe, this universe is a tv show, and I haven't seen everything so for some private moments yes but only the ones acceptable for tv. So I've literally watched it happen. It was also a cartoon, so I've seen everyone and everything here in an animation, so seeing it in person is vastly different, and there were a couple battles that happened here that I don't remember happening in the show which makes me think I won't be able to predict everything or what might happen if it wasn't in the show. I'm also worried that if I say anything, it'll change what happened, and then I really won't be able to predict anything." I fidget with my hands a little.
"I see." He taps his fingers on his guitar. "I've only had the snake miraculous, which you seem to already know, and it's not exactly like Bunnyx being able to travel to different timelines. I got to have multiple second chances at fixing the problem by using the information I had learned through the failed attempts. You may not have multiple second chances, but you won't always find the solution by doing what you think is right. You'll eventually find the solution. It's always been a thing to learn from our mistakes, and oftentimes, the stuff we learn from them can create beautiful melodies that wouldn't have been possible before. You just gotta listen to the one that's playing the right tune." He pauses for a moment. "Yours sounds a lot like Marinette's did. You're just as lost and confused as she was, if not more. There's one that plays like a symphony that's very soft and melodic, like a romantic scene in a play. It's being blocked by a parade prancing through playing loud trumpets and cymbals. Try finding something that increases the volume on the symphony so your attention isn't completely taken away by the parade. I may have something for you, actually."
He walks over to his stack of cd's, vinyls, and other musical objects. He rummages around for a bit before pulling out a small usb stick. "This is a soundtrack I made from when my dad left, and I was in a dark time. I felt confused and lost and nearly gave up on music, but I started making a new melody that would cancel out those dark and confusing thoughts, and I sought out guidance and an escape from my everyday life and made a new one instead. I hope it'll help guide you as it did for me." He hands me the usb stick, and I stare at it for a second in awe before taking it and putting it in my pocket.
"Thank you, Luka. I have no idea what to say. I didn't think you'd be so chill about this, but I guess I should've known that." I laugh. "In the show, you always knew the right thing to say at the right time, and that still holds true. I don't know why I didn't come to you sooner, but I guess there really is a time and place for everything. I really needed this. I feel like I can breathe now." I lean back a little and just relax.
"I can hear your inner melody much clearer now." He smiles and sits back down next to me, listening closer. "It's picked up in pace a bit. It's more like a grand ballroom orchestra in a classic fairytale movie with everyone dancing in sync. It also reminds me of the fairies dancing in the nutcracker." He chuckles. "It's still very soft and sweet."
I blush slightly at his words. "I feel violated. You can basically read my thoughts and feelings. Even without a miraculous, you still have superpowers." He laughs. "I think I'm gonna go home and give this a listen. Can I give you my number if either one of us needs to talk or anything? I feel like I owe you after this."
"Sure, that'd be really nice." He smiles and puts his number in my phone, and I start heading home.
On my walk back, a head of red hair catches my eye. I turn to look, and I'm instantly met with bright hazel eyes and step back in surprise.
"Hi there! I've seen you at our school. My name's Lila, we even share a class together! Everyone seems to be talking about you nonstop about what you might know about them. I couldn't help but grow curious myself, but I was more concerned with how you're handling it all. Are you doing okay?" She puts her hand out in front of her, and we shake hands.
"Nice to meet you! I honestly don't know everyone's secrets, if at all. I mostly just wanted to shove it in Chloe's face for immediately coming after me. It was a scare tactic. I didn't mean to make everyone anxious." I look down at my shoes hiding a small smirk.
"Phew! That's a relief." She giggles. "Sorry, it was pretty intimidating when you practically announced it to the class. I will say it was worth it to see Chloe's face get beet red." She covers her mouth as she laughs once more.
I giggle slightly. "I guess that was pretty funny. I didn't think it'd be this much of a pain later on, though."
"Hey, I think you'll be okay. Text me." She hands me a little card with a smirk and walks away. It has her full name, number, and socials. It's even decorated all cutesy. 'Hotdamn, she's prepared. I'll give her that much.' I pocket the card and continue my journey home.
I finally make it to my bedroom, and I sit at my desk. I insert the usb into my computer and connect my headphones, and hit play. The first few strums sound weak and frail as if the chords would snap if they were played any harder. They play a soft melody before getting louder, forgetting the frailty of before, blending into a rhythm of strums, followed quickly by the bass, and then the soft beat of a drum. A whistle begins to sing instead of lyrics. It sounds reminiscent.
I lean back in my chair, letting the soundtracks play. Losing myself in the process. The next song plays, and I'm feeling inspired, so I open the drawer with my sketchbook and decide to draw the miraculous ladybug crew, but in their cartoon forms. It starts with a duo drawing of Lady and Chat. I flip the page to draw just Ladybug. I flip the page again to draw Chat. Then Alya, with a split down the middle of her being Rena Rouge. Nino as Carapace, so on and so forth. I begin to draw Luka as Viperion, and I give him eyelashes. 'If I'm gonna be the only person to remember them looking like this, I'm giving this man the representation he deserves.' I turn back to the page of the realistic Chat Noir drawing and finish up the details. As I sign the bottom, the music stops. 'Woah, crazy timing. It's almost scary.' I yawn and close the laptop, placing the sketchbook on it. I get changed and get cozy under the sheets, feeling like I'm gonna have the best sleep of my life. Not even a nightmare could ruin this with how weightless I feel. For once, my thoughts aren't racing as I drift off to sleep. Instead, a beautiful melody repeats like a broken record.
I'm woken up by a loud boom and race to look out my window. I see a giant red samurai yelling about destroying the city. "What?!" My eyes widen, and my heartbeat quickens as my breathing becomes unsteady. 'This wasn't supposed to happen for another few weeks or so. Did I fuck up by telling Chat Noir?' I grab a random pair of shoes and race outside still in my pajamas. Following the fight ahead, trying not to put myself in the crossfire.
I hide in an alley and peek my head around the corner and see Ladybug and Chat Noir already colliding with Ikari Gozen, and like in the show, she uses multitude, and I can almost hear the Ikari Dozen joke from here. Helicopters are flying around capturing the fight and on a near rooftop, I spot Alya with her phone, recording the fight. I start making my way towards her.
"Hey girl, did I miss anything?" She nearly drops her phone in shock and sends a slight glare my way. She looks at me up and down, raising her eyebrows at the sight of me in my pajamas but then turns back to the fight.
"Nah, it seems like they're just toying with her while they figure out where the akuma is. Quick pull out your phone and record this, trust me." She winks.
"It's in her sword." I slap a hand over my mouth and pull out my phone and begin recording.
"WHAT? How do you know?? Did you see her get akumatized??" Her full attention on me now.
"Uh-yeah! It happened near my house and I didn't even think about changing. I had to follow." I let out a breath.
She laughs. "I feel you. If it happened right outside my house, I would do the same thing. You should join me more often. It's nice having a buddy and a second angle." She turns back to the fight.
'Good grief, I don't know how long I can keep this up. I just need to tape my mouth shut. I was really hoping to get a good nights rest, but I can only dream so big. I guess I used up all my dreams to teleport myself here cause this was one of them.' I tune back into the battle, and it looks like they trapped her, and the next thing I see is little pink glowing bugs erasing any trace of the battle.
"That was amazing! As usual, I never doubted them for a second. Tune in next time to see how the defeat Monarch next! Alya, out!" She finger salutes the camera, and I turn off my recording.
"Send me that footage. Here's my number. I need to go home immediately and edit the clips." She writes down her number on a piece of ripped paper and hands it to me, then runs off.
Before I can do the same, I hear a clunk of boots behind me. "Did you know she was gonna multiply? She didn't have a miraculous on her."
I turn around slowly. "Mayybe? Would you hate me if I did?" I sheepishly grin.
He laughs. "No, it would've been nice to know, but I guess it would've taken all the excitement out of the battle. I like being kept on my toes. It'd be really boring knowing exactly what's gonna happen all the time."
I pause and stare at him for a moment. "Well, this battle wasn't supposed to happen for a few weeks. I'm worried that because I told you about the fight at all is what caused it to happen sooner rather than later. As if you weren't supposed to be prepared for it to begin with." I start pacing back and forth, running through different scenarios that might change. 'I'm definitely not saying anything after this, I was lucky this fight happened at all. Maybe it was supposed to happen anyway, and it was supposed to catch them off guard. I need Luka-' I pause. 'No, I don't. Maybe telling him anything was a mistake, too. Maybe telling them both is what caused this or something/someone is messing with me.'
"Hey cowgirl, you're gonna burn a hole in the roof if you keep pacing. Let me show you something." He reaches his hand towards me, and I take it.
We're practically flying over the city of Paris. Going from rooftop to rooftop, it's similar to how it was in my dream. I shake away any thoughts before they form. "This is incredible! Where are we going?" I yell over the sound of wind in my ears.
"You'll see!" He smiles.
We land on a small balcony, but it's covered from all sides. I side eye him with a suspicious glare on my face.
"Oh, ma chérie. I know I'm irresistible, but this heart is taken~" He grins and poses dramatically as I roll my eyes and turn my head to the side attempting to hide my smile. "I brought you here because this is the only place I feel I can have true privacy. It's where I go to get away from everything, no cameras or eyes. No problems, just bliss." He spreads his hands and arms out to his sides in a slow but dazzling motion.
I shake my head and look around. There's not even a door to get up here, just vents and pipes and a couple of ac units. I wonder how they do maintenance on these. There's some pillows and blankets lying in a corner with a few journals and pens lying close by. "Have you slept here?"
"Yeah, a few times. Mostly just cat naps." He winks and walks over to the pillows and lays down. "Come here, this is what I also wanted to show you." He picks up one of the journals and pats the spot next to him.
I walk over and lay down next to him and watch as he flips through the pages. I see glimpses of different sketches and random doodle pages until he stops on one page. It's a drawing of me on one of my walks around Paris.
"Have you been spying on me??" I take the sketchbook from him and look closer at the drawing. It's actually done really well.
"No, no! It'a nothing like that. It was shortly after our first visit. I was on one of my patrols, and I saw you while scoping out the area. You looked so happy and at peace, very different from that night. It was like the whole building was radiating anxiety, and I wanted to check if there was an akuma on its way or at least prevent one from coming. It was the first time I saw you just in the moment and enjoying life. I couldn't stop thinking about it, so I drew it as well as I remembered. I don't know what you did that day, and it was only for that moment. The drastic difference from that night to that moment was unforgettable, and you seem to just illuminate any area within a 5 mile radius with whatever you're feeling if you're feeling it intensely enough."
"...I feel like an asshole." I hear him chuckle slightly. "Speaking of that night, you asked to know your big secret in a pretty intense way. Care to explain that? That is, if your heart's been taken this whole time, loverboy." I turn my head slightly and look over at him. His cheeks are a light pink.
"Aha, yeah. I was also pretty anxious after hearing that someone knew secrets about certain individuals that they shouldn't. It sounded like someone knew our identities, and I needed to find out for myself. It was just a way to scare you into giving the information, but things took a turn after what you said, and then we had the discussion after. I also technically have my answer if you claim to know Ladybug's identity, but I'm also guessing you're having doubts now? Since we know some of your information isn't set in stone or hasn't been entirely accurate. I'd assume who you think we are isn't accurate either?" His eyes catch mine.
I slowly turn my head and look towards the sky. 'I know I'm right. I can't speak for moments that happen, but the identities are unchangeable. At least I haven't been able to prove that I'm wrong just yet.' "I didn't even think about that. I was so focused on trying to find something to prove that I knew what was gonna happen before it happened, I forgot about the stuff I thought wouldn't change. I just assumed that if I could prove that a moment in time could happen exactly how I predicted, then everything else has to also be true." I look around at the clouds and ponder for a moment looking for shapes within them.
"You were partially right about the akuma attack that just happened. Maybe some of the information is right." He takes a quick glance at me. "Try not to focus on it so much. If they're supposed to happen, then they'll happen, and if they don't, they don't. I can't imagine the akuma you'd create if Monarch got ahold of you."
I cover my face with my hands. "Ahh, I keep forgetting about getting akumatized. I'm too focused on all this." I take them away from my face and rest them on my chest. "You're right. I need to just not let this take over, and I need to let things happen how they happen, and I need to stay the fuck out of it."
He laughs. "I wouldn't stay entirely out of it. I have gotten quicker because of you. It'll help me a lot in future battles. Lady and I have even made it a part of our schedule. We're gonna use some of our patrol time to train. We have no idea what Monarch has in store, and we want to be prepared and be stronger than him when that time comes. If you know of any battles that may come, it can help us plan for when it might. You don't have to share the details, just in case, but knowing when they might happen will be useful."
"I'll think about it. The akuma attack was supposed to catch you by surprise, but I guess all of them do that. The difference for this one was that it would be the first one in weeks after a drought. I was worried you guys would get comfortable while I would be a ball of raging anxiety. Thinking about it now, I probably would've been the one to be akumatized before Ikari, but also knowing the fights and stuff ahead I feel that it was supposed to happen and that you both had to be caught off guard. If I tell you guys anything, something is gonna change, so I don't know if telling you when they'll happen will help. In fact, the only thing that changed was the timing. Everything else was supposed to happen. I can only assume that if I just tell you when they'll happen, it'll change. That much I'm certain of."
He purses his lips. "Maybe you can just share where the akuma is-"
"I can't. I don't want to risk telling you guys something important, and then It's wrong, and that's what makes you guys lose. I don't want to take that risk, especially in the upcoming battles. Please, just do what you guys are doing. It'll be the best outcome. If I'm proven right, I'll let you know. If I still can't predict anything without telling a soul. I'll tell you everything...within limits of course."
"That's understandable. A part of me hopes you're proven wrong." He grins.
Before the conversation can continue, we're interrupted by rapid beeps. He's on the final dot.
"Oh shit! Why didn't we hear the other beeps?! We gotta go!" I hurriedly get up and turn towards him who's now sitting there and staring at me.
"I never told you how the miraculous work." He has a subtle stern look on his face.
"We don't have time! I already told you I'm not sharing anything anymore, so unless you're ready to do some sharing, we gotta bust a move!" I point backward with my thumb towards what I think is the direction of my house. "I have cheese at my place if it's closer."
His eyes grow wider, but he shakes his head and immediately gets up. He walks towards me and grabs me around the waist a little tighter than the first time. "We're talking as soon as we get there, and you're gonna tell me what you know about the miraculous."
I wrap my arms around his neck. "Fine. Let's go."
We make it to my place, and I get to enter my room through my window this time. I race to the kitchen and grab some cheese. I open the door slightly just enough to place the plate of cheese in there without seeing him. "It's not camemberet, but it should do."
After a few minutes of sitting outside my room, I get pulled in by my arm, and I'm met face to face with the ever-growing familiar green cat eyes.
"So you know about the time limit and the cheese preference?? I'm gonna assume you know a lot, but please, enlighten me." He goes to sit at my desk with his elbows leaning on his knees and his hands together placed over his mouth.
I press my lips together and take a deep breath. "Okay. I know there's some magical enchantment or whatever that blocks people from knowing who you guys are unless directly told or discovered. You were chosen for these by fate. Each one has a kwami, which is a tiny god or magical energy and are tied to the jewlery that's how they're technically able to exist among us in a way that we can perceive. They can't be seen by technology. They can use their powers by themselves, but they need us to be able to control it. They each have their own unique power, and they can have upgrades, so you can breathe underwater or fly into space and such. They've been around since the beginning of time pretty much and have guardians and facilities that are the origins and headquarters for them. The ladybug and cat miraculous can be used to make a wish, but it comes with a cost, that's why Monarch wants them. You need to feed the kwami to restore their energy. They all have a name. They each have their preference of treat. The suit matches how you perceive yourself, or it'll be matched to you if you're unsure. They can make kwagatama's, which can connect you to past miraculous users of the respective miraculous. I think that's about it. Oh! Once you use your power, you have about 5 minutes until you detransform unless you're an adult user or have matured in your time with the miraculous. I don't exactly know how that part works, but that's just what I know off the top of my head." I look to him, and it looks like he's seen a ghost.
"You know more than I do. How do you know all this? Ladybug wouldn't share all this with you. This isn't something you can search for online, either." He looks at me with raised eyebrows.
I may have said too much. I look around the room, trying to find answers. "Well, you said everything. As for how I know. Think of it like being in an escape room. The answers are hidden in plain sight. You just have to be crazy enough to believe in it and figure out the information yourself by following the trail of clues, which isn't as crazy considering they're all around the world. Someone is bound to be curious enough and do the research. I'm pretty sure it's how Monarch found the moth miraculous in the first place. He had his reasons for believing in it and the resources to find and get it. I just did my own research without going out to seek them for my own." I'm mentally crossing my fingers, hoping he'll accept this as an answer for now. It is how Monarch discovered them.
He sits there for a moment. "Can you show me? I want to know how so maybe we can do something about it so it's not as easily accessible if someone decides they want to be the next Hawkmoth."
"It honestly wasn't easy to find. I went through every site and book almost and just matched up information that appeared multiple times in different sources for the most part. I went with my best guesses. You just pretty much confirmed my research." I take a seat on my bed.
He sits in silence again. "I guess that makes sense. If it was that easily accessible more people than just Hawkmoth would've found a miraculous too."
I nod. "It's also a lot of false information. They mislabel the miraculous or artifacts related to them. The names hardly matched up, so unless you know the real name for them, it could've been anything. There's ancient depictions in paintings or the hieroglyphics that are unnoticeable unless you know what you're looking for. It's like fun Easter eggs hidden throughout history and art. Even Jeanne d'Arc was Ladybug in her time. I don't know who the Chat Noirs were. There's not a lot of information involving them. Some were like you and Ladybug. Others were not so favored, I believe there was one that was the villan for Ladybug, but again, a lot of false or misleading information. I guess you'll be the most documented Chat Noir ever to be." I smile at him.
He sits up a little more and straightens his shoulders with a slight puff to his chest. "You really think so? I wouldn't mind that. I can't believe a 10-minute conversation with you gave me more knowledge on the miraculous than the years I've known Ladybug." He opens his mouth to say something but quickly closes it. "I actually wanted to talk to you more about something. It just shocked me that you knew what the beeping meant and followed by knowing exactly what food source to bring. It's about the girl I like. I need your advice." He looks to me pleadingly.
I walk over and sit down on my bed. "You're more than welcome to talk with me. You can be more honest than you think, but only if you're comfortable. I don't know everything about you or anyone. You're the only person who knows that I can be proven wrong anyway."
He smiles and leans back. "So you know about the end of the year dance, right?" I nod. "I was thinking about asking her to go with me, and I don't even know where to start. I want it to be special."
I feel a dulled tight pull in my chest, but chase it away with a breath. "You could go cheesy with a bouquet of flowers and a sign or a gift with a note. Food proposals are always a hit, in my opinion, cause if it fails, you can just eat it." I laugh a little, and he joins. "Above all, you just gotta go up to her, look her right in the eyes, take a deep breath, and just ask her. Plain and simple. The courage it takes is like slowly peeling off a band-aid, but you just gotta rip that thang." I move my hand in a snapping motion.
He smiles affectionately. "Thank you, this helps a ton." He spins in the chair. He goes around once more before stopping while his back is facing me, and he leans back to meet my gaze. "Do you have anyone you're going with?"
I look to the side and think. "I can't think of anyone to go with. I haven't really gotten the chance to get to know everyone since I moved here with my parents about a month ago." I furrow my eyebrows slightly. The words were spoken as if it was someone else saying them. I just assume it's what happened to me in this universe. "I can also assume everyone already has someone in mind. I might go, but I'll just be a wallflower during any slow dances, that's for sure." I let out a laugh.
He's stopped spinning and is facing me now. "What if you went with a group of friends? I'm sure they won't mind, they might even invite you before you can decide who you wanna go with."
"Knowing them, you're probably right." I smile at the thought.
"Is it okay if I spend the night?" He turns back and forth in the chair. "You can say no, I just, don't want to be alone tonight."
My heart jumps a bit, and I look at him like a child looking at their fallen ice cream. "Of course, it's getting late anyhow. I was about to chase you out the window."
He chuckles. "Can I go grab some stuff? It sucked not having my toothbrush the first night."
"Yeah, go for it. I'll set up our sleepover while you're gone." I get up and walk over to my closet to pick out a different set of pajamas. These have been through enough today.
He beams with excitement and leaves to go grab his things. I pick out my pj's and grab an extra pillow tossing it on my bed. 'At least we won't have to figure out where he'll be sleeping. Perks of the unexpected.'
I walk over to my desk and pull out the sketchbook again just to look at my drawings. I'm getting better the more I draw, and the more that I do, the more that I wanna paint. I want to make something colorful, and I can do that better with paint than markers. I'll pick up more when I go get a canvas, maybe some markers too so I can color in these drawings.
I hear a thud outside my window and quickly scramble to put the sketchbook away. He enters through the window with a dufflebag.
"That was quick. Did you teleport or something?" I lean on my desk.
He laughs. "I wish." He sets his bag down under the window and looks around. "I thought you were setting up? It just looks like you changed clothes."
"Oh yeah, I figured from the first night you'd just sleep in my bed again. I can set you up somewhere else it'll be no problem." I grab the pillow.
"No! It's okay, I just thought you'd pull out an activity of some sort."
I set the pillow back down. "What did you have in mind? I have board games, and we could draw. I could also bring in another controller, I got a few games on my computer and a console."
"Any of those sound great. What kind of board games you got?" His stomach grumbles.
"I'll grab a few while I also grab some snacks." I smile and start heading towards the kitchen.
I grab a bag and fill it with some chips, fruit, cheese, crackers, a few bottles of water, and some sodas. I make a couple of sandwiches and put them in there aswell before heading to where we keep the boardgames.
I pick out cards against humanity, incoherent, sorry, monopoly, and candyland. 'I'm surprised we have all these.' I grab the bag from the kitchen and head back to my room.
I enter the room and see him lying back on my bed, scrolling through his phone, which he quickly puts away as he sees me enter the room.
"The hunt was a success! I bring a plentiful bounty, and tonight, we feast as kings and celebrate the abundance that nature has provided us!" I set the bag and games down, putting my hands on my hips and puffing out my chest in triumph.
He smiles. "Oh, mighty hunter! You've brought so much! We won't have to worry about food for the next few weeks! You've saved us! We might actually survive until the next winter."
We both laugh and I hand him a sandwich and set the bag next to him. "I also have chips, fruit, drinks, and some cheese and crackers. If you behave, I might pull out the experiments."
"I almost forgot about those." He takes a bite of his sandwich and looks at the games. "What's incoherent? and cards against humanity? Why would they be against humanity?"
I try to contain my laughter. "They're not against humanity, it's a funny card game where a promt is presented and you answer it using the cards from your hand. Each one is different from questions, to fill in the blanks, and some of the cards you can play have pictures so you can answer with reactions. Incoherent is a guess the gibberish game where you have to sound it out to figure out what's written on the card. Both are really fun and even more fun with a group of friends."
He ponders for a moment. "Could we play incoherent? From the way the other one sounds it seems better played in a larger group."
"Sure, you're not wrong there. If I ever have a gathering with friends I'll be sure to bring it." I walk over and grab it.
I hold up three different colored cards and explain the rules. "The blue ones are party references so it'd be things related to a party like drinking or common sayings like "blacked out" or places known for partying, it's mostly drugs. The yellow is pop culture, so celebrities, memes, restaurants, so on and so forth. The red. We can skip the red."
"Wait what are the red cards? Why can't we play those?" He goes to pick one up.
'I should've picked a different game.' "The red cards are spicy cards...they're sex related."
He blushes a deep red and flips the card over to see what it actually says and slowly puts it back in the box. "Maybe we skip them for now. Let's start with the yellow ones I'll know those better than things having to do with partying."
"Alright then."
We take turns holding up a card and having the other guess. Laughing at how each of us sound when trying to sound it out, making jokes along the way along with some discussions inbetween. 30 minutes have passed, and he seems to be antsy.
"Is everything alright?" I tilt my head a little.
He hesitates for a second. "Can we try a few red cards? These ones are getting a little repetitive but I still want to play." He bites his lip.
My eyes widen a bit and I glance at the box. "Sure, they're nothing too crazy, I mean, it's a card game afterall." I force out a small laugh trying to hide my nervousness. I pull out a few and hold one up. On the back it says playboy model and I almost laugh at the irony.
He makes a few attempts and I'm trying not to giggle. Thank goodness it's an easy one. "I'm almost embarrassed at what I'm saying, can you give me a hint?"
"It's nothing too crazy, don't worry. It's something I can see you being in the future. It's also a famous magazine."
He looks at me for a second with an amused look before sounding it out again. "Playboy model?"
I laugh. "Yes! I can totally see the bunny ears. You'd rock them."
He laughs with me. "I prefer the cat ears, thank you very much." He takes a card and I can see the pink forming under his mask. Oh boy. It reads 'show dub pant kids meh.'
I begin sounding it out and each time I do his cheeks grow more and more pink. 'Goddamn, what is this card?' "Can I get a hint?"
"All it says is quiet makeout." He turns his head towards the window.
"Shut up and kiss me?" It sounded a little more like a demand than a question.
He snaps his head back towards me and then looks at the card. "Well if you insist."
My eyes widen and I jump back a little in surprise. "I thought- what about- I-"
He busts out laughing. "I'm just kidding. I wanted to see how you'd react."
I smack his arm. "My turn." I pick up another and read the back. It says fulfilling a fantasy.
He guesses right and laughs a bit at the answer and he picks up another. I read 'luff leng which.' Easy.
"Love Language." I say without guessing and his eyes widen a bit. "That was quick, I thought I'd throw you off with the hint, it was expressing feelings." He laughs. "What are your love languages by the way?"
"Quality time for sure. Next would be words of affirmation, physical touch, acts of service, and finally gift giving. I'd say any one of em would make me feel loved but I can do without recieving gifts constantly. I always appreciate the thought, it means a lot for someone to go out of their way to get me something or just thinking of me. I feel like I'd owe them even though I know that's not the point of a gift."
"That's understandable. Mine is also quality time, words of affirmation, physical touch, acts of service, and gift giving. I'm usually the one giving the gifts. I don't always have the words to express how I feel but it's mostly just something I see that makes me think of them. Roses are a favorite of mine to gift, simple, sweet, and the colors have meanings behind them! I've been researching to know exactly which ones mean what and it's more fun than I thought. Ladybug actually gave me the idea, she told me that red roses mean romantic love and one time I gave her a yellow rose for friendship and she tried making me think I got the meaning wrong, as a joke of course." He chuckles at the memory.
I remember the moment from the show and smile from remembering how cute and sweet he was during the scene. "That sounds like her. I wouldn't have said anything in the first place, I'd keep them as trophies from my successful battles."
He perks his head up and his ears twitch a little. "You would? Should I start bringing you roses?" He grins.
I smile back. "You don't have to. I think they'd be better saved for the girl that's captured your heart, mister."
His ears drop slightly. "You're right, I think I'm definitely gonna include a bouquet of roses when I ask her to the dance."
"It's getting pretty late, you down for one more round?" I pick up another card and wave it.
"Absolutely."
I read the back and it's my turn to blush.
"Wanna make out?"
My eyes widen and I stutter a bit. "How?"
He laughs. "You're pink cheeks gave it away." He picks up the last card. It reads 'toned gif mi uh ick he.'
After a few tries I ask for my hint. "No sucking hard." I blush at his words and so does he. "Can you read the passage below it? that's also a hint if the first one isn't helping."
He clears his throat. "When you like the feeling but have to be with other non-friend humans tomorrow."
"Don't give me a hickey." I smirk.
His eyes lock with mine and I can feel the heat on my cheeks as I watch his create the perfect shade of pink and red that makeup artists dream of recreating. He clears his throat again. "I think this is a good stopping point." He grabs a few cards and starts putting them away and I help.
Our fingers touch as we reach for the same card pile and we both freeze. 'His heart's taken, nothing's gonna happen. Calm down.' I grab the stack and put it away then close it up, setting it down with the rest of the games.
"That was fun, we should play again sometime." I walk over to where the experiments are hidden. There's still quite a few left since I had it all to myself for a week. I pull up the bag and shake it a little and he excitedly nods his head.
"Definitely, I'm curious how you can play it in a group setting." He takes a treat from the bag.
"It's way more hilarious when you have a group of people shouting gibberish at you. It could also be used as a drinking game."
"How?" He says still chewing on the treat blissfully.
"One way is if you give up on trying to guess, you take a shot. There's also a timer, so if you can't guess it in time, you take a shot. You kinda have to make up the rules yourself in most drinking games so it really depends on how many people are there to dictate the rules." I pop a treat into my mouth.
"Interesting, I wanna play a drinking game one day." He lays down on the bed.
"I would love to join. I wouldn't wanna miss seeing you get drunk." I lay down next to him.
He chuckles. "I don't think I'd be too different than how I am currently."
"You say that now." I take a look at him and his suit. "Is it comfortable to sleep in that?"
He looks at me. "Yeah, why? It feels like a second set of skin. I can feel things through the suit like a thin latex glove but not as blocked. It's a little hard to explain."
"No reason, I was just curious if you were comfortable is all. I would find a way to make sure I don't see who you are if you'd rather sleep in your pajamas."
"I can remove the suit entirely, so I can just wear pj's. I appreciate the offer though." My cheeks redden at the thought. 'I was honestly curious if the suits were removable. Good to know.'
He smiles at the sight of my cheeks. "Got something on your mind?"
I look away. "Nope, not a single thought. Let's go brush our teeth." I get up and head towards my bathroom. I hear him chuckle then get up and he follows me.
He stays a behind for a bit to get changed into his pj's before settling under the covers with me.
"You're pj pants are adorable. Are they offical Chat Noir merch?" His pj pants are all black with cartoonish green cat paws scattered around.
"Yeah! There's a whole website and a few merchants throughout the city selling official and non official merch."
"What makes it official?"
"If I like it or not." He grins.
I roll my eyes playfully. "You better get me a pair."
"Done. Let's get some sleep. It's nearly 3 am."
I turn over and yawn, the tiredness finally catching up to me as I settle in. The warmth from Chat behind me lulls me to sleep faster than most nights. Before I fall asleep I feel an arm snake it's way around my waist and without thinking I immediately move in closer. I feel his chest on my back and he tenses up but immediately relaxes, giving me a small squeeze and like a light switch, I'm out.
