C10: New Wheels
After lunch, the following periods weren't anything exciting. Those teachers, unlike Sir B. Wild, had Frost introduce himself to the rest of the class. Frost needed no introduction, because most students knew who he was now. The news of the new guy being a human and being the one who had beaten up Fynx and Burt, spread like a wild fire.
Frost made mental notes of which one of his friends were in the same class as him. Frost and Jessica were in the same History class. Frost, Cassie, Jane and Jessica were in the Music class. Jessica and Tina was in the same Gym class as Frost. Tina and Frost had to endure Science together. In Biology it was Jane, Cassie and Frost. They all were together for English and Mathematics.
The five friends were walking to the school gate, talking about the events of the day. Mrs Kruger was relieved to see that Frost had made more friends and was also wearing his hoodie down now. Frost introduced Jessica and Tina to his stepmother. After some talking, Jessica and Tina started to walk down street.
"Sorry, Mrs Kruger, is okay if I walk home? I want to speak with some of the teachers." Frost asked.
"Are you sure, Frost?" Mrs Kruger asked with concern.
"I'm sure." Frost reassured her with a smile.
"Okay. Just let me take your bag then." Mrs Kruger said, which he did.
After waving goodbye and walking back to the school building, Frost turned around and got into the back seat of an armoured vehicle that just pulled up where Mrs Kruger car was.
"Glad you could make it." Jessica said as she drove off.
"Me too. I can't wait to see all you guys again." Frost said with a smile.
Tina, who was also sitting in the back seat as well, hugged Frost tightly. She had been holding back the entire day now. They drove out of town and eventually passed Frosts old house.
"Wait! I thought this base was abandoned?" Frost asked.
"It's our home-base actually." Tina stated.
"But the entrance is blocked off when I checked it after waking up again." Frost pointed out.
"Same base, new entrance." Jessica explained.
"Why?" Frost asked.
"Your mother's orders." Tina replied.
"Of course it was." Frost said as he rolled his eyes.
Jessica pulled off to side of the road and drove straight to the foot of a mountain covered in green vegetation. Frost began to get nervously as they grew closer to the rock wall while Jessica and Tina stayed calm.
"Jessica, there's a wall there." Frost pointed out nervously.
"Trust me." Jessica said as she began to speed up a bit.
"But!" Frost began to panic before Tina pulled him back.
"No back seat driving." Tina said as the vehicle went through the rocky wall.
Frost panted as he calmed down after Tina explained that it was just a hologram. Jessica turned on the headlights to reveal a cave with a tunnel with a large metal vault-like door. The door opened as they drove closer and closed behind them again. The inside was very familiar to Frost. He remembered how he use to fool around in this large garage/warehouse with his friends.
Jessica pulled up in front of one of the garage doors before switching off her vehicle. The three got out and Frost looked around of memories of this base rushed to him. He noticed that there were some commotion in the workshop. Jessica and Tina were walking towards the door now, giving Frost some time to get his mind around things.
Frost walked over to the workshop. As he walked closer, he could hear rock music play and smell grease. He knew exactly who were busy there now. He noticed that another armoured vehicle stood there, meaning that Rita was working on it.
Sure enough, as he walked to the front of the vehicle, he noticed Rita's feet and tail sticking out under the vehicle. He noticed that his arm was laying beside his feet as well as blue light coming from under the vehicle. Rita had probably switched out his arm for a blowing torch. The light stopped and a blowing torch were placed at his feet. Frost noticed Rita beginning to feel around for his mechanical hand.
"Need a hand?" Frost asked as he placed the hand in Rita's hand.
The body under the vehicle jumped a bit and Frost could hear a bang, followed by an "Oww!" Rita came sliding out from under the vehicle while rubbing hs head.
"Frost, don't ever sneak up on me again." Rita warned as he moved his welding goggles to the top of his head.
"Sorry." Frost apologized, feeling a bit bad now.
"No worries." Rita said as he smiled a bit.
Rita picked up his mechanical hand before he began to attach it to the rest of his mechanical arm. After attaching his hand, he tested that all the systems were connect correctly by moving his fingers, hand and arm.
"So, what's wrong with her?" Frost asked, referring to the vehicle.
"Oh. I took her out of the garage yesterday. I'm just fixing her up now and making sure she's in top shape." Rita explained.
"Is this Tina's vehicle?" Frost asked, since Tina was the youngest one.
"No, her's is over there." Rita replied while pointing.
"Then who's is it?" Frost asked while raising an eyebrow.
"Yours." Rita answered.
"Mine?" Frost asked.
"Yeah. Check her out." Rita said with a smile as Frost helped him up.
Frost walked to the drivers seat and got in. He sat down and got a feel for his new vehicle. Rita stood in the doorway and couldn't help but smile as he noticed Frost grinning like a child.
"This is awesome." Frost said with a wide grin.
"I knew you'd like it." Rita said with a smile.
"Like is an understatement." Frost said as he continued to check the features.
"Yeah yeah. She isn't finished yet. Now scram. I want to finish her by the end of the week." Rita said.
"Can I help?" Frost asked as he got out.
"You know I work best alone. But it was nice to have you visit. Now go greet the others, I'm sure they are waiting for you." Rita said as he shooed him.
"Okay. I'm going." Frost said before hugging him and leaving.
Rita smiled and waved goodbye, before resuming his work on the engine.
