"Triiii...",mum screamed..
"Yeah mum",i answered while rushing downstair.
"Get the door,im busy with lunch here", she shouted from the kitchen.I rushed to get the door, Dee had gone to bring Anna back from the hair salon-those two were still lazying their asses at home in the name of 'no school'.
"Yeah,I'm coming", I answered while going to get the door;referring to the being at the door and I wondered who it was 'cause we rarely had visitors especially on a Saturday afternoon.
I opened the door to face the last person I expected to see that afternoon.
" Watchu doing here??",I asked still in shock.
"Well,well,well,I was passing by and decided to say hello to my neighbour". Jay said smiling as usual.
This dude sure smiles a lot and wait,NEIGHBOUR??what the hell is he talking about??
"What are you talking about now,Jay?"
"Common babe,I live down the street.
" Oh,I never knew.But how did you know I live here?? "
"Let's say,I just got to find out on my own". Jay said smiling again. Not again,Duh!!
"You really have been stalking me,Mr.Jay Conner". I stated now crossing my arms against each other to show how serious I was.
" I don't.."Jay began explaining before he was interrupted by my mum.
"And who do we have here??",mum asked walking up to us.
" hello Mrs.Williams",Jay greeted extending out his hand.
"Hello...huh??"
"Jay..I'm Jay Conner"., Jay helped her out.
" Hello Jay",mum shook him.Jay's hand was much bigger than mum's,well what do you expect when  mum had gotten thinner due to constant sobbing and almost starving herself to death 'cause she misses an asshole of a husband who decided to let the devil take him away from his family that once matters most to him.
"So you're my baby's school mate I guess", mum asked.
" yeah,Mrs.Williams,I'm Tricia's school mate and I also live down the street."
"Well,drop the formality son,you can call me Kate..
Oh my,mum asked to be called by her name.. Well,that's new...like 'good' new.
"Lunch is almost served, you could join us??",mum asked.
No no no,this wasn't gun happen!!
"No,Jay would be leaving..",I countered.
"That would be awesome,Kate", Jay cut me short wearing a wide grin.
" Come in then ",mum told Jay,leading the way.
Jay winked as he passed me,giving me a smirk.Evil child.
In less than 20mins,Dee and Anna were back and they joined us at the table.
" uhmm,who do we have here??",Dee asked.
"I'm Jay,Tricia's school mate", Jay answered stretching out his hands for a handshake.
" Damion,and she's Anna",my brother replied pointing to Anna-who was whispering incoherent words into my ear-before shaking Jay's hands.
"I like him Tri", Anna said audibly.Everyone chuckled, well except me.
" I like u too Ann",Jay said.
"Are you Tri's boyfriend?"..
I choked under my saliva and starting coughing like a tuberculosis' patient.I excused myself and rushed to the restroom behind the dining table.I sprinkled some water on my face and looked up at the mirror. I was all red.
Why on earth was i blushing??'Cause Anna asked an impossible question??
Was I falling for Jay??Why would I be blushing cause of him??
"Are you okay babe?"Jay asked from outside cutting my thoughts short.
Speaking of the devil..I quickly dried my face with a face towel and came out to face a smirking Jay.
"What?",I asked rolling my eyes.
" You know,we would make a really good couple",he said.
"You wish,jerk",I snapped and headed back to the dinning with Jay trailing behind. We were halfway into the meal before Jay spoke.
" Nice meal Kate",
"Thanks Jay"

I quickly shoved a full spoon of rice into his mouth to make him shutup.I guess he understood and changed the topic.He started discussing various domestic issues with mum not minding 'The rule that says don't talk while eating'.Very soon he was also able to catch the attention of Dee and Anna.They were all talking and laughing,I'd never seen my family laugh so heartily this way ever since dad left.I couldn't help but smile.
The moment was priceless.
I got up to clear the table,noticing that everyone was done. Jay volunteered to help and I declined, I thought he would pester more,buh he ignored me and went to play with Anna.What a jerk!!
After washing the dishes,I checked on everyone, Mum was watching Fashion Police on E!,Dee had gone up to his room to sleep-mehn dah dude loved sleep more than anything. Jay and Anna were at the balcony discussing in low tones.I just ignored them and went to the garden.This was my favourite spot in the house apart from my room.I came here when I needed to relax my nerves or tink.I just sat on the wooden chair at the entrance and relaxed,was just almost getting my thoughts together before a voice spoke,
"Watchu doing here all alone,pumpkin??,Jay asked.
I jumped off my feet and turned to face Jay.
" How did you know I was here and what did you just call me??"
Mehn,I sure do ask a lotta questions.
"First,Anna did tell me you were here and of course showed me to this place and Second, yeah,you are my pumpkin", Jay said.
I sat down and Jay sat too.
"I love Anna,she's so adorable", Jay said.
I smiled.
" Yea,she's just sweet like that.
"Tricia..", Jay called with all seriousness. I wondered what he wanted to say,he's never called me by my full name.
" yeah",I answered looking straight.
"Anna told me about your Dad", he started.I'm sorry about what happened during lunch. If i had the slightest idea...
I stopped him with raising my palm,I cudnt talk,I fought to hold back the tears but I cudnt.I let them flow freely.
" I'm sorry babe,but you have to let the hurt out, you can't continue dying on the inside",Jay said coming close and taking me into his arms.
It felt warm and safe to be in his arms.
"I'm here for you babe" ,he said before planting a kiss on my forehead.Wt!!
I immediately pulled out of his arms and stood up,
"I think you really have to go now", I retorted.
"But Tr..",
" I said LEaave Now",I was almost shouting.
Jay walked out of the garden and I slowly walked behind him,he said something to Anna which I didn't hear and said goodbye to my mum before leaving. I ran up to my room,banged the door behind me,rushed to my bed and began to sob quietly.
