Walking back home from school so tired and stressed,I planned to go see mum at the hospital she had few days to spend there.I really missed her.
I reached the door and was about turning the knob,when the door flung open.
"Mummmmmmmmmmmmm", I screamed and ran into her already open arms.Tears flowed from our both eyes.
" I missed you so much mum",I cried.
"I missed you more Tri".
" okay okay okay, enough with the mother daughter bonding",Dee shouted from the dinning room."Let's have lunch ".
Clinging to mum so tight, I followed her to the dinning table. We all ate in silence.
" The food's so nice ",I commented.
" Yeah yeah yeah,courtesy of Dee and Anna,they both prepared it.",mum said smiling
Dee and Anna high-fived themselves.
"What the f..", I held my mouth before I could complete the f-word.Mum hates it much.
I pretended like I wanted to puke, kinda mocking my siblings and their cooking.They both laughed.Mum laughed too.I smiled.I missed this happy part of our family, I jes wished for us to remain like this forever. Happy and united.

After lunch, as I was doin my additional maths assignment, I heard a knock on my door.
" Come on in",I answered.
Mum came in and smiled at me.I smiled back.
"Can I have a word with you sweety",
" Sure mum",I replied sitting on my bed and gesturing her to seat too.
"I'm sorry for everything Tri,Im sorry for neglecting u, Dee and Anna,I'm sorry for tryna harm myself.I dunno wah came over me dat day.But I've realised dat ur dad ain't worth dying for,I have you three and that's more than enough.From now on, I sure would forget about it all,will put it behind me and move on.you guys are more important to me you know",she said smiling.
" I'm so proud of you mummy ",I hugged her,tears rolling down my cheeks.
" it's okay my child,"mum cleaned my tears as her eyes slowly drifted to my neck.she touched my necklace and gave me the where-is-this-from look.
"From Jay", I answered blushing.
" You like him a lot,don't you??",she asked.
I nodded.
"But I'm scared mum,looking back at what happened between you and dad.I love Jay but I really don't wanna get hurt".
Mum took my hands in hers and stared directly into my eyes. It was kinda creepy though,i had to blink severally to get used to it.
" You know,Jay was always at the hospital each day ever since I was admitted. "
My eyes widened at this.
"He would tell me jokes and and make me stop thinking much. He made me realise that I was given a second chance to live as I didn't die that day.Throughout my therapy,he was always there to help me out and keep me company. He did suggest I get released before the assumed date to give u guys a surprise.and he always told me how much he loves and cares for you".
I blushed hard on hearing dose last few words.
" Tricia ",mum continued." I'm telling you all these to make you realise that he is a good guy and I also do like him.So don't be scared and make the best of your life. He loves you so much and would never hurt you, I'm sure of that.
"Thanks so much mum,you the best", I said hugging her tight.
" I like him too",Dee said from the door.
"Me too", Anna added.
" Have u guys been eaves dropping?? ",mum asked.
Dee and Anna gave us a mischievous grin.
Mum got up and began leaving with Dee and Anna.
" it's alright Tri, get back to doing your homework. Mummy loves you",she said before closing my door.
"I love you too mum", I replied.
My family loves Jay. Awwww!!I guess I didn't make a mistake by saying yes to Jay afterall.
Still smiling and blushing,I went back to my study table to finish up my assignment.
