Gulf's P.O.V:

"I have a surprise for you two" My father said smiling happily.

"What?" I asked excitedly as my mother came behind me.

"I got a break from my job at the factory and gave my night shift at the school security centre to a friend" He said.

"Annnddd?" My mother said excitedly as I jumped happily.

"Annnndddd...WE'RE GOING TO THE BEACH THIS WEEKEND" He said excitedly.

I gave him a hug causing him to chuckle and pat my head as my mother hugged his side.

"Alright then why don't you go help your mother pack up the bag?" My father asked.

"Ok dad" I said then turned to look at my mother.

"Let's go Nong" She said taking my hand and walking me inside the room.

After a few minutes we were done packing up for the weekend trip.

The very next day we drove to the beach.

It was a little misty since it was early in the morning.

"Be careful" My mother said.

"Ok" My father said driving slowly.

I felt hungry so I took out some sandwich and a bottle of water and started eating.

"Do you guys want to listen to music?" My father asked smiling at me from the rear view mirror.

"Ok dad" I said.

He turned on the radio and a song started playing so the three of us started singing along.

After the song ended we started cracking jokes and laughing.

But then a truck appeared through the mist and hit our car.

I tried my best to stay conscious as I heard a lot of voices around me.

Then everything went black.

The next thing I knew was that aunt Fasai was in the hospital with me and talking to a doctor about something.

I looked at my hands which were bandaged up and my head had a bandage with blood stains on it.

I tried to stand up and walk.

"Easy Nong it's ok" Aunt Fasai said.

"What happened?" I asked in tears.

"Shhhh...It's ok Nong" She said hugging me.

"What happened? Where are my mum and dad?" I asked.

Aunt Fasai didn't say anything but I could feel that she was crying.

It can't be...

No...

"MUM DAD...NO...NO THIS CAN'T HAPPEN" I yelled angrily and cried as I tried to push aunt Fasai away from me.

"Shhhh...It will be ok...Don't worry" She said.

I finally managed to push her away and stood up pulling the IV needles out of my arm and ran out of the room hurriedly.

And I saw them.

They were laying lifelessly on stretchers as some nurses pushed the stretchers to the corpse room.

My eyes widened in shock and I sank down to the ground and clutched my head with my hands tugging at my hair as I started crying hard.

"Mum...Dad" I murmured through tears.

Then everything went black.

Mew's P.O.V:

I was doing some work in my room when I suddenly heard crying sound and turned to check on Nong Gulf who suddenly started crying in his sleep and murmuring incoherent words.

"Nong...Wake up Nong" I said trying to shake him awake.

He still didn't wake up so I tried again.

"Nong...NONG" I yelled this time as I shook his shoulder lightly.

His eyes shot open and he looked at me as he started gasping for air.

But before I could say anything he suddenly started crying.

I pulled him into a hug and he cried on my shoulder.

I patted his back in what I hoped was soothing as he continued crying.

"What happened?" I asked.

"Mum and dad...I had that nightmare again...It's their memorial tomorrow" He said.

I nodded and started rubbing circles on his back.

"It's ok" I said running my hand through the back of his head.

"It's not" He said pulling away from me.

"It is...If you don't want to be alone I can go with you tomorrow if you want" I said.

He layed down on the bed and closed his eyes.

"Thank you" He said.

"Wait here I'm going to get you some warm tea" I said standing up.

He nodded so I went to the kitchen and started making the tea.

This will give him more time to cool down.

Or at least I hope so.

After a few minutes I was done making it and went back to my room.

Nong Kwan and Nong Dao were talking to him.

"Big brother bunny why are you crying?" Nong Kwan asked.

He smiled slightly and wiped away his tears.

"I just miss my mama and papa" He said.

He was clearly tired.

"Kitties big brother bunny needs to rest" I said seriously.

"It's fine" He said.

"Are you sure?" I asked.

He nodded.

Nong Dao hugged his side and Nong Kwan leaned his head on his chest.

Nong Gulf started playing with Nong Kwan's hair absentmindly.

I set the cup of tea on the bedside and sat at the end of the bed.

"Were big brother bunny's parents good?" Nong Dao asked looking up at him.

"Yes...They were" He said ruffling her hair.

"Then they will come in the form of rain when big brother bunny is sad and a nice breeze when he's happy" Nong Kwan said.

Nong Gulf smiled slightly and I raised an eyebrow in amusement when I remembered that Nong Gulf said the same to them when they missed their mother.

Then Nong Dao kissed his cheeck.

"Big brother bunny should sleep papa always says that sleeping is good" Nong Kwan said.

"Ok" He said smiling slightly.

Then they gave him one last hug before walking out of the room.

I handed him the tea and sat next to him.

He closed his eyes.

"Thank you" He said.

I smiled slightly and nodded.

"You can cry all you want...I know it hurts" I said.

He put the cup aside and hugged me burying his head in my chest and I started patting his back.

He didn't cry though.

"Nong?" I asked.

"I just want to stay like this...Can I?" He asked.

I nodded and started patting his back again.

"Tell me more about them" I said.

"They were really nice...And kind... Probably some of the kindest people you'd have ever met...They always told me to smile and do whatever makes me happy" He said.

I nodded and started patting his head again.

After a few minutes he pulled away and looked up at me.

"We were supposed to go to the beach for a trip...Only I returned home that day...It was so empty I couldn't bear staying there for even a second" He said.

I took his hand in mine and pressed on it gently.

"I know how it feels to lose someone important...Someone who should have stayed with you...I know from experience that no one really forgets about that...But life goes on Nong...You can't forget but you can endure the pain of loss and live with the good memories" I said looking down at our hands.

He hugged my side.

"I know...I just...I wish that never happened" He said.

I started playing with his hair again trying to calm him down.

"Look on the bright side...You have good friends...A good mother figure...And..." I said trailing off.

"And I have you" He said completing the sentence for me.

I smiled slightly and nodded.

"Yes...You have me" I said.

He chuckled and nodded then layed his head on my shoulder.

"Well...Thank you for being here Mr perfect boss" He said.

"Just that?" I asked raising an eyebrow.

He tapped his chin in thought.

"Well...Thank you for being here Mr pervert boss" He said chuckling.

"You deserve a punishment don't you think?" I asked smirking.

"Huh? What was that?" He asked feigning innocence.

I chuckled and shook my head then pushed him down to the bed and started tickling him as he started laughing.

After a few minutes we stopped playing and I layed down next to him.

He turned to look at me then reached out and took my hand in his.

I smiled and looked down at our hands.

He leaned his head on my shoulder and closed his eyes.

"Thank you" He said.

I nodded and leaned closer to his face and kissed his forehead.

"I'll always be with you" I said.

Then leaned back on the bed and after a few minutes his breath evened out so I guessed he fell asleep.

I pulled the blanket over us and pulled him closer to me then closed my eyes and decided to sleep too.
