Five

Regulus wondered what would happen next in his life. It was like he would have opened another chapter in a book, but with out knowing what to expect. He was far away from everything and everyone - specially James Fleamont Potter. He was in France, in Paris, to be exact. He didn't have a place to go to, which had became a problem. It was 18 o'clock on his second day in Paris. He had slept the first night in a hotel, but he didn't have enough money to start living in a hotel.

He sat on a bench, looking at the eiffel tower like it would give him answers. People walked by, but he didn't pay atenttion to them and neither did they to him. He had sat there quite a while, actually. With all of his belongings, every single thing he owned. He was lost. He was far from home and had nowhere to go to. Why did he even come in here? Was it to get to somewhere, where James couldn't find him from? Regulus wasn't sure anymore.

He just wanted to feel safe and find a comfortable place to be in. He thought of a bookshop. Usually they were cozy and had lovely books. He liked the idea of trying to find one and just hanging out. Maybe the cashier could help him. So he stood up and started to walk away with out looking back. He went to the first street he saw and walked for a while, before he saw a bookshop. You could see it was cozy through the windows and the name was amazing too.

The name was written on the window with a lovely font.

Librairie Lavande

It was in French, but it was Regulus' second language so he knew what it meant.

Lavender's bookshop

Regulus stepped inside. His nose was filled with the lovely smell of lavender. The books looked old, but when Regulus looked at the names, he noticed they were modern. "Bonsoir!" the cashier said smiling to him. The cashier was a old lady. Her hair was in a bun and her eyes were grey, like her hair. Her smile was kind and welcoming. Regulus noticed she had a book on her lap, which she seemed to be reading. "Madame du soir" Regulus said.

Regulus looked around. They were the only ones in the bookshop. The bookshop wasn't huge, but there was still a lot of different books to choose from. Regulus noticed there was a door behind the cashier and the cashier's desk. The door was closed. Maybe there were somekind of backrooms?

Regulus then turned back to the lady. "Parles-tu anglais?" Regulus asked. "Of course dear. Would you like to speak English instead of French?" the lady asked. She spoke with a very clear accent. "Please. I can speak French, but English is my first language and I would prefer speaking it" Regulus smiled. "It's good you told me. Is there a way I could help you, darling?" the lady asked.

"Well, I came in France only yesterday, and I was hoping if you would know a place I could stay in?" Regulus asked. The lady looked at him for a good while before she said anything. "Well, are you ready to work?" she then asked. "Obivously. I need a job to stay in here" Regulus said. "Would you like to stay in here then? There's a room for you and you can pay by helping me with the shop" the lady smiled. Regulus' eyes widened. "That would be wonderful!" he said.

"Great, let's go. I'll show you your new room" the lady asked and stood up from c the chair she had sat on. Regulus walked to her and she opened the door. There were stairs up behind and they walked up, Regulus struggling with all the bags he had.

"Here" she said. Upstairs there were 3 doors. "That one on the left is mine. Don't go in there. Then this in the middle is the bathroom and that on the right is your room" she said and opened the right room door. The room had a bed, a desk and a closet. It also had a window with a view to the street. "Thank you" Regulus said.

"The shop opens at 10, be awake at 8:30. The breakfast will be ready at 9 downstairs. The kitchen is downstairs. The stairs down and the door on the right before the shop. You can get to the garden from there too. New books come every Tuesday and Thursday at 16. The shop closes at 19 from Monday to Friday and Saturday it opens at 12 and closes at 18. Sunday it's closed. You can start tomorrow" the lady said.

Regulus was pretty sure he couldn't remember a single thing, expect to be awake at 8:30. "Got it" he nodded and the lady went downstairs.

Regulus put all his things away from the bags. Clothes to the closet, books and notebooks on the table with the pencils, etc. Then he looked out of the window to the busy street and sighed.

This was now his new life, and there was no going back.
