Harrison Travers is an inspiring poet in 19th century England. Orphaned at 19 years old, he works at a bar to cover the costs of living. During a shift at Panacea Tavern, he meets Lewis Ashworth, a publication editor at Harbinger newspaper office on 18th Avenue, who convinces him to begin writing again ,after having given up the dream so long ago.

A Miss Adelaide Deveaux, the daughter of one of the wealthiest families in Manchester, meets Harrison and Lewis in the newspaper office, and after a conversation, invites them to a friend's gala.

No Such Dalliance explores Harrison's journey as he transforms from a struggling bartender to a successful writer who has poems in the newspaper, with original poems (by me!) in the novel itself, until a misunderstanding devastates his career and his own life.
