Tip # 3: Don't claim art that you didn't do yourself

Yes, Drawing bases can be an exception, but don't say that you invented someone else's Drawing base. You use Drawing Bases to get a base for your character and eventually you get so good at drawing bases that you don't need them anymore. You do not change one aspect of the base in photo shop, and call it yours. Some other artist worked really hard in order to make that base, and entrusted the internet to use the base to make it easier for those of use image challenged artists to develop character design. 

Now you can use them to make your character AS LONG as you use the base for the base level of your character. Then erase out the parts you don't need and Bam! One original character right there.
