''Move out of my way Damon!'' She snarls. Fist clenching and her ever changing eyes glaring. But he did not move. His bloodshot eyes staring back at her. Searching, pleading.
But her resolve will not crumble and his attempts to make her stay are futile.
He rake his hair with his fingers in the growing frustration in his gut.
''Raven, please just stay. We can fight this together'' he says but she cannot be swayed with his words of reassurance. She knew that nobody can help her because a monster is inside her and it's only a matter of time before it can totally consume her and take over her body.
''No Damon!'' She screams, the veins in her neck were thick against her skin and her eyes turns into a shade of night filled with danger and warnings ''No. . . Nobody can help me. Eris is already gaining more and more power inside me'' the last two words caused her voice to crack and her ever changing eyes turns three shades lighter. Yes, Eris, goddess of discord, quarrels and fued. Eris personified all chaos and strife resulting in the warfare, death, unhappiness and pain. She is Eris' supposed reincarnation and soon Eris shall claim her body and regain her ethereal form with the promise that she will again cause great pain and suffering amongst the humanity.

Raven kept fighting her, denying her out of her body but doing so causes Raven's body to weaken and experience excruciating pain. She did not care, all she wanted to do is to stay away from anyone, from people whom she might hurt once Eris is able to take over her body. She wanted to find the weapon that can kill Eris and will prevent her from ever coming back knowing full well that it will bring her her death too.

''Raven, I will not let you do this. I will protect you from the Erinyes, from Eris.'' He offers with determination and promise in his eyes but she only laugh bitterly, shaking her head and licking the bottom of her lip because she knew that he wasn't supposed to be protecting her, if anything, he should be punishing her for he is once was one of the Erinyes also known as the Furies whose sole purpose was to pursue and punish sinners.

''You are one of them Damon. Can't you see what it can bring?'' She bit off, but her words sting her too and her eyes, her eyes that can never lie. The eyes of an Iridescent, the raise that were cursed by the gods because they are Eris' descents. The eyes that changes color according to her true feelings and inhibitions, changed into the color of a newly bloomed rose with tinges of black and blue at the corners of her irises. The colors that represents a mixture of affection, guilt, anger and sadness because her heart is irrevocably in the hands of the man that was supposed to punish her and bring Eris' death. His unblinking bloodshot eyes well up with blood for his raise have had blood for tears together with their immortality, a characteristic for all Erinyes. He did not want to let her go, but Raven has always been a strong headed person even before she discovered that she will be the one to fulfill Eris' vow to come back every 600th year of her death and shall claim the body of one of her descents. Damon knows it too but as he sees Raven's eye color changing, his longing to make her stay and protect her magnified to ten folds knowing full well that what she's saying differs from what she truly feels.

''Don't do this'' he pleaded once more, but Raven's need to protect humanity is greater than any greedy inhibition she has. Her eyes starts to change colors again as her gaze volleys from his face and to the ground. She purses her lips placing her hands on her hips while her foot staccato tapping on the forest floor. But there is an eerie silence around the forest and soon Damon knew exactly why.

''Raven, they're coming!'' he hissed, marching towards her attempting to pull her out of sight but it was to late. His fellow Erinyes moved fast surrounding the two of them.

''Stop, hand her over Damon and we will consider excluding you to the punishment'' a tall balding man wearing black all over bargained but Damon will never do it not even after his death and Raven knew it too so she shrugged Damons hand on her forearm and steps forward purposefully blocking Damons line of sight ''I'll come with you, baldy. But keep him out of this'' she says dominantly as her eyes are now in the color of darkness, both alluring and dangerously captivating. She is visibly restraining her anger afraid that it will trigger Eris' appearance. Damon senses it too as he place his hand over Raven's shoulder. But the bald guy missed the memo.

''Don't try to make me laugh, girl. Take them both. I'm going to enjoy killing this two'' he barks to his minions but even before one of them get the chance to touch neither Raven or Damon, Raven's body quakes,convulsing and terribly shaking. Damons eyes went wide as he knew what was coming

''She told you to leave him alone. You should've just listened'' a voice came out from Ravens lips but it was not hers. It was a high pitched voice mixed with spine chilling bellow that will make your skin crawl. Damon shouts ''NO!'' In horror but Eris' smile through Ravens lips only widen ''Oh, YES!'' She declares terrifyingly sweet.

''Kill that evil witch!!'' The bald man orders and each and every one of his minions moves swiftly, aiming for Eris in Ravens body with guns loaded with bullets wrapped in spells to immobilize her but Ravens body quickly thrusted back and forth, twisting and turning in the most agonizing of ways inhumanly possible.

''Stop it! You're hurting her! Raven fight her!'' Damon growls, but he can't do anything because only Raven can fight Eris inside her own body. After a minute Ravens body begun to stop twisting and starts to go airborne

''Are you all done now??'' The same high pitched bellowing voice asks and Ravens lips smiles sickly, deviously ''it's my turn now. It will be fun to watch all of you kill each other.'' Eris laughs evilly but Raven chokes her own neck trying to fight Eris' possession.

Get out you evil witch! I will not let you hurt anyone! Raven screams from the inside, still trying to strangle herself.

''You stupid imbecile, you can't kill me!'' Eris screams back in between choking sounds

I know, you putrid witch! But if I die, you'll wait another 600 years! Raven kept her hands tight around her neck and this is something she is not willing to stop. Damon knew exactly what was happening. He knew that Raven is fighting back but he is beginning to get scared about truly losing Raven tonight.

''Raven! Stop this! You don't have to kill yourself!'' Damon screams as he squirm from where he stands while the bald man is now instructing his minions to go for the kill. Damon instantly draw his gun out pointing at the head of the bald man ''do anything that this man says and his dead'' almost immediately all of the bald mans minions stop dead on their tracks. Until one by one their bodies convulsed in the same way Ravens body did earlier

Stop corrupting them you worthless goddess of shit! Raven protested but Eris continues to put a spell on every man in that forest while Raven strangles herself with her own hands

''Watch how they all die!!'' Eris laughs loudly with her disgusting voice and Raven saw everyone including Damon come at each other. They are like rabid dogs fighting each other vehemently attacking one another. But Raven will not give in, she is not someone who'll just run and hide she is someone who will run in the middle of a storm and go against the hurricane. Raven is now livid more than ever and she only tighten her hold on her neck.

You can never take over this body and you will have to DIE trying! Ravens determination is one thing but her heart is a totally different story. In that moment Raven knew that she will NEVER succumb to Eris' grasps and the absolute resolve of her heart starts a fire within her that she didn't even know she has. It's like a wildfire, destructive and unforgiving. It burned inside of her and Eris felt it too. Raven is different, she is extraordinary and Eris knew that this girl will never give up nor give in.

Light starts to come out of Ravens eyes as Eris' spell continues to cause havoc amongst the Erinyes. Ravens body starts to quake more due to the internal battle she's having and the light coming out from her eyes grew brighter disturbing the blanket of darkness that surrounds the forest.

''Stop it! Stop whatever you're doing at once!'' Eris demanded, screaming, but the light grew even brighter. Ravens heart is so pure that it created a light that only comes from strong will, courage and a lot of love. All of which Raven possesses.

There is only enough room for one bitch in this body and I seriously hate sharing. So get the hell out! Tightening her grip around her own neck, Raven demanded.

Then her body twisted yet again. Thrusting up and down freakishly bending and folding in the same inhumanly way possible earlier and the light from her eyes grew fervor. Then with one final bend. Eris disappears out of Ravens body. Immediately all of the Erinyes stopped fighting some are dead, some, badly wounded. Ravens body fell on to the ground with a resounding 'thud'. Damon then, who is wounded, ran towards her and embraces her limp body against his wounded one.

''Breathe Raven. Breathe, please. Breathe for me.'' Damon pleaded against the crook of Ravens neck, as if on cue Ravens eyes flutter open and the iris of her eyes were on multitude of colors.

''Eris can't kill me, your embrace can'' Raven humors softly and Damon instantly pulls back a little to look at her face.

''Your face. . .'' He gasps as he sees that Ravens left cheek is now florid but Raven knew it already beacuse she can feel it and because she can see her reflection on Damons eyes. Slowly, Raven reached for her left florid cheek and she felt the eerie warmth of her skin. Damon help her to sit straight and cupped her face with both of his hands.

''Hey, it's OK. You are still absolutely, uniquely beautiful'' Damon comforts her as he place a soft and gentle kiss on her forehead. Truth be told Raven does not give a damn about her face but it's enough to see Damon alive and well.

''Damon. I have to go. I need to go'' she says to him firmly. She knew she has to do it because Eris is not completely gone and the florid skin on her face is a clear reminder that Eris is somehow still a part of her and this internal war is far from over. Damons brows marred and his heart sank. But even before Damon could argue Raven stood up looking down at Damon.

''Damon, there is still a part of me that belongs to Eris. And I'm not stupid enough to risk anything'' Raven explains.

''But you fought her well earlier, you can do it again.'' But Damon argues. Raven shakes her head as her irises displays her true desire only she's not selfish enough.

''I'm not sure how long I can fight her but until the day that she is finally dead. . . I'm still a monster'' Damons bloodshot eyes finally let his bloody tears trickle down his face.

''I can't stop you now, can I?'' He asks one more time staring directly at Raven then she nodded.

''Don't look for me, Damon'' the words rolled off of her tongue smoothly but her heart is already grieving. Damon did not try to stop her this time and truly let her go. With her parting words she turned her heels away from him. Away from possibly the only thing in her life that mattered.
She only wanted to save him, now she must save herself too.

↪ for those who wonder, some part of this story came from a Mythology book that my mom owned. So clearly, I did a little research before writing this. So I assure you that this book is well thought off.

★ The Erinyes a.k.a The Furies - those guys did exist in mythology as the punishers of the sinners

★ Eris is the daughter of Nyx and Erebus which is also part of the mythology book I read and its by Edith Hamilton.
