Me? Nervous? No way. I tell myself as I finish lacing up my combat boots, I look at myself in the cracked mirror one last time. My blonde hair is in a traveling fishtail braid, my torso is clothed in a black crop top and black high waisted shorts. My room is at the very top of the huge redwood tree we call home. It's not very big, but it has an amazing veiw of the forest.

I make a small clicking sound, which awakens my black cat, Fiona, and beckons her downstairs with me. I then pick her up, since she can't make it down the ladder herself, and start down into the laundry room, then my sisters room. It's already empty and although It's a bit bigger than mine, I'm happy each time I come through, knowing I have the better room. Then there is my brother's room. It smells of old socks in there. Finally, my parents room, and our open-to-the-outside living room and kitchen. My three cousins Morning Dew, who's thirteen, Tiger Fang, who's sixteen, Lily, who's seven and my two siblings Lavender Spring, who's seventeen, and in her second year of secondary school, and Red Blaze, who's fourteen, were all waiting for me.

"First day of first school, eh?"asked TigerFang, I nod happily and MorningDew smiled.

"Your going to love it!" Dew said, encouragingly. We all jump onto our broomsticks, and Fiona jumps on the end of mine. We take off, soaring above our guarded forest and zooming towards the city. We can't see the ground, but I can imagine the calls of fear, for we are the witches of dark magic that roam the forest and call to the spirits.

After a five minute ride, we reach our splitting point. Tiger and Lavender take Lily to elementary school. Then they go to secondary school. Me, Blaze, and Dew go to first school. We finally land twenty minutes to first introductory. It is highly encouraged to be early. Blaze immediately spots one of his friends.

"See ya losers." He says, setting down his broom. Fiona jumps off and I set my broom down on a small pile.

"Just one more thing..." Dew says.

"Yeah?"

"You'll find people don't exactly... trust you." She bites her lip in thought. "Don't let your guard down."

As I rounded the corner I know what she means. I feel the cold stares, and some stares of amazement, but one made me especially angry. "What are you staring at Bit*h?" I sneered.

"Why are you wearing all black?" She dared to ask. It has been an entire summer since I last dealt with this shit.

"How fu*king rude! I'm Claudia Selene, and I'm a black magic witch. That's why!" I draw back my arm, ready to cave in her face with my fist, when a weird sensation comes over me. I was temporarily frozen, lifted off of the ground. Suddenly, what seemed like hours later, though it couldn't have been more that ten seconds I am released.

"Claudia, get your lazy but over here and help me get her to the nurse's office!" I roll my eyes.

"What makes you think I'm lazy?" I don't listen to the rest of what she's saying, but I do go over to help her pick the girl up. Fiona trails behind me.

"Well you weren't helping her."

"Ugh, this is Eve Callister, the biggest freak on campus. That's why I didn't help. Plus I'm a black magic witch. I only help myself." I remember Eve from elementary school. I hate this girl. "And don't you ever call me lazy again!" I thrust her limp body onto the crappy bed and flop down in a chair. Great excuse to miss first introduction.
