Chapter 15: ;Eve Callister

Exhaustedly, we begin to gather up our things for school. "Can you believe it's only the fifth day of school?" Claudia asks, disgustedly.

"It does seem too exciting to all have happened in the first week of school
Doesn't it?" I say, opening the door for us as we head down to breakfast.

"That's not what I meant." Claudia replies with a tinge of annoyance.

"I know." I reply with a smile that I know will drive her insane.

"Well I for one am just glad that I go here, and not a human school. At least the history here is interesting." Amber says.

"History?" Claudia asks feigning horror.

"I like school, and even I don't like history." I reply incredulously.

"How can you not? It's like a fantasy book!" Amber cried.

"How?" I ask confusedly, as we all sit at our usual table.

"Well we're learning about the history of the vampire, which makes the werewolves the bad guys-"

"Stop! You're ruining firstmeal with your boringness." Claudia groans.

"Tell me later." I say, rolling my eyes at Claudia's comment.

"Why do you guys say firstmeal?" Amber asks.

"Because its the first meal of the day?" Claudia says, elongating her words as though she thought Amber was an idiot.

"But why not just call it breakfast?"

"Brick fast? I think the normal way makes a lot more sense." I reply giggling.

"But breakfast is the normal way-" Crystal tries to walk around the side of the table closest to the wall, for some odd reason.

"Excuse me." She says.

"Oh, sorry." I reply, standing up and scooting my chair in. Even if I didn't like her, she was Amber's friend... And she had dirt on us. Crystal pulls the chair back out and sits back down in my seat.

"So, what were we talking about?" I feel my jaw drop.

"Are you kidding me?" I ask. Across the table Claudia is laughing her head off.

"No. What did I say that would have been a joke?" Crystal said as though she was truly confused before bursting into laughter along with Amber. I reached for the empty chair, before some random friend of Crystal's popped up out of nowhere, and sat down, causing everyone to laugh even harder.

"What happened?" She asked. Claudia told her, and she too began to laugh at my expense. I smiled.

"That's okay." I grabbed an empty chair from a nearby table, and sat at the head of the table. When I pushed my chair in, Crystal howled in pain, silencing everyone's laughter.

"Owwwwww!"

"What-" I started to ask.

"Owwwwww! Owww! You're crushing my foot! Oww!" I pushed my chair back as fast as I could.

"I'm so sorry!" I cried.

"No you're not, but it's okay. It was my fault teasing you like that." Crystal said weepily, clutching her foot underneath the table.

"It's not your fault. It's hers. Why can't you take a joke?" the random girl asked accusingly.

"Yeah, Bit*h!" Claudia cried, the sarcasm barely audible. Her acting skills were getting pretty good.

"Seriously?" Amber said horrified. "Let me see how bad it is." Crystal lifted her foot up above the table, a large red mark visible on top of her foot.

"Oh my timemdra, I'm so sorry." I said, covering my mouth in shock.

"That looks pretty bad. We should get you to the nurse's office." Amber said. Crystal began to take her foot off the table when something caught my eye.

"Stop!" I growled, grabbing her foot.

"Ow!" Crystal screeched.

"Eve!" Amber cried indignantly.

"This isn't even real! It's blush!" I yelled accusingly.

"How dare you! Why would Crystal lie?" The random girl said, helping Crystal up, along with Amber. They began to hobble towards the nurse' s office.

"It has glitter in it!" I called after them.
