So whenever an adult finds out that I write Pokemon Fanfiction in my spare time, they always ask: "Isn't that just a big waste of your time?"

Well, I always say the same thing, and it completely stuns them every time.

Adult: Isn't that just a big waste of your time?

Me: No, actually, it's not. Ever since I started writing, I strengthened my essay-writing skills, learned grammar, and expanded my vocabulary. Because of this, my grades in English went from C's to A's, and I had the highest grade in my english class out of everyone. And because of this, I was bumped from the top 300 of my Junior class to the top 100 students, and my grades have only improved since. I knocked the ACT test out of the park because I easily understood the grammar and reading sections.

Adult: ...............by writing Pokemon fanfiction?

Me: Yep. Maybe you should've tried it so you had better grades.

Adult: *speechless*
