Walking into the dragon-infested forest, the four kids heard a sharp, high-pitched noise wave through the village. The test was starting. Ryka, Reyn, Aiyana, and Micah found  themselves staring at one another, some for reassurance and others to reassure. Reyn gave a small wave to the crowd behind them, the smirk on his face never faltering. Aiyana's serious aura never lifted, she stared at the forest as if awaiting an attack that could come all of the sudden. Micah couldn't stop his worried movements, he knew that he would die the second he stepped into that forest, he would be the kid no one remembered. Ryka stood at the very end, her eyes watching the other three of her partners carefully. Ryka took the first step into the forest, soon enough the rest followed. Today their new life would begin. They would find out if they were worthy enough to be members of their village, or if death would take over.
