So my dog got sprayed by a skunk... life's great.

Its around 10pm where I am and I'm tired.

So what happened is that she was barking outside while I was doing homework. My parents decided to bring her in because she was barking crazier than usual. My mom went outside and IMMEDIATELY my dog (lilo) ran up to her and rubbed her eyes on my moms pants then proceeded to sprint inside the house and rub her face on the carpet. At this point my mom had just smelt the skunk.

She then "yelled" at lilo to get outside again.

At this point I had finally smelt the skunk which wafted around the house.

Skunk stinks. Its like a bitter/sour smell in the air and it just wafts around the room and sticks to wherever its on.

My mom quickly rinsed out lilos eyes in the shower, getting the stinging out of her puffy red eyes. While she was doing that, my dad and I poured a mix of hydrogen peroxide, baking soda and dish soap on the carpet and trying to soak up the spray with a paper towel. After a while of doing this we notice that there were little puddles of skunk spray at the door entry where lilo came in. That means she was dripping with skunk spray. My poor baby :(((

My mom washed her with the same mixture of chemicals and water and she smells ok now, but shes sad.

Were gonna get the carpet cleaned soon. I still feel bad for lilo though.

Its kinda surprising because we had her since she was a puppy. She is now seven and a half years old now and we had never had her been sprayed until now.
