Noctis looked over his studies. This was starting to strain his mind. He really just wanted to go hang out with his best friend. And secret crush, Prompto Argentum. Noctis didn't know what it was about Prompto, but he felt... normal around him. Like he wasn't a prince required to pick someone to rule by his side.

Everyone was assuming his childhood friend, Lunafreya, would be his choice, but Luna had her eye on a man name Nyx Ulric and Nyx returned her feelings. Plus, Noctis only saw her as an older sister.

The next runner up was Iris Amicitia, the younger sister of his body guard, but while Iris had a crush on Noctis, Noctis just saw her as his own little sister.

After that was his friend, Alice Schwartz, but that was out of the question since Alice had a thing for Ignis and Ignis returned her feelings with an almost nervous fashion.

So who would be his queen? He only felt romantic towards Prompto, but he was certain that Prompto couldn't feel the same way. With his perfect blonde hair, his beautiful sapphire eyes, the adorable freckles that covered his skin, and then that breathtaking crooked smile of his.

To Noctis, everything about Prompto was perfect.

A knock at the door woke Noctis from his Prompto day dreams.

"Hey, Noct. Sorry to bother you. I just wanted to see if you wanted to ride with Ignis and I to the concert tonight." Alice said.

"Concert? What concert?" Noctis asked. Alice blinked.

"Uh, the concert of Prompto's band?" She said.

"Prompto has a band?!" Noctis asked, standing. Alice stared at him.

"You really didn't know?" She asked.

"No. He never told me... why didn't he tell me?" Noctis asked, feeling sad. Alice shrugged.

"This concert has been holding his attention for months, it probably slipped his mind with how special it is. Don't take it to heart, Noct. He's really nervous about this gig. So, you riding with us tonight? I'm sure Prompto wants you there." Alice said. Noctis nodded immediately.

"Yeah, of course. He's my best friend. Of course I'll go support him." Noctis said. Alice smiled at him.

"Right, Iggy and I will pick you up at 6. See you then, Noct!" Alice said.

6 couldn't come soon enough for Noctis. He dressed himself in his usual casual gear. His white tee shirt, white fingerless gloves, jeans, boots and baseball cap. Alice wore tight dark jeans, a black tank top, grey sneakers, and her usual bandana with a lime green jacket. Ignis wore his regular dark dress pants and boots and a grey tee shirt with his regular gloves.

"This is going to be so much fun!" Alice said.

"What's the band's name again?" Noctis asked.

"Quicksilver. The girl that first pulled them all together, Noelle, came up with it. She's the bass player. She looked up the origin of Prompto's name and said that since Prompto is the lead, then they should name the band after him. So they chose Prompto and the Quicksilver. Prompto said he didn't want the band named after him, so they went with Quicksilver." Alice explained.

"And you know this, how?" Noctis asked.

"Noelle is a friend of mine. Real sweet girl. Really pretty, too." Alice said. Noctis hummed. Were Noelle and Prompto a thing?

"Noctis!" Iris called and ran over and hugged the prince when she saw him.

"Hey, Iris." He greeted. Iris lead the three over to Gladiolus and his girlfriend, Emmalee.

"It's so great that you're here, Noct! Prompto told me that he's dedicating a special song to you tonight. He's going to be so happy to know that you were able to come hear it!" Iris said happily.

"Really? He's dedicating a song to me?" Noctis asked. Iris nodded. Noct's heart skipped a beat with excitement.

"Well then I can't wait to hear it." Noctis said. Iris grinned.

"He's going to be so happy!" Iris said. She seemed to remember something.

"Oh, yeah, he gave this to me, but I think he really wants you to have it. He probably only gave it to me when he didn't see you." Iris said and handed him a backstage pass.

"Wow, Iris. Thank you." Noctis said. Iris smiled up at him.

The lights lowered and everyone faced the stage. A girl with long, pale blonde hair and brown eyes stood on the stage, a bass guitar in her hands. A boy with dark brown hair sat at the drum kit. A guy with black hair stood to the side with an acoustic guitar.

Noctis felt jealous. The girl was pretty, she must be Noelle. The two guys on the stage were also really good looking. One of them had to have Prompto's heart, the thought stinging at Noctis.

Then Prompto walked out on stage, making Noctis forget the other three on the stage. All he could see was his perfect crush, the light of his eyes, the love of his life.

Prompto wore his usual crownsguard shirt and fingerless gloves. Instead of the usual jacket, he wore a red plaid flannel shirt unbottoned and tight ripped jeans with his usual boots.

And in his hands was an electric guitar. He raised the strap over his head and the crowed cheered as Prompto looked in to the audience. He pulled on his signature grin, making Noctis's heart skip a beat again.

"How is everyone tonight?" He spoke in to the mic. The audience cheered.

"We are Quicksilver, enjoy the show!" Prompto called and raised his hand that held his guitar pick. Everyone cheered. Prompto closed his eyes and drew a deep breath. His blue eyes snapped open and he began the first song of the night.

A cover of Immortals by Fall Out Boy, followed by Green Day's Boulevard of Broken Dreams, then Crush Crush Crush by Paramore, I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing by Aerosmith, Noelle took over for a moment to sing Neon by Casey Lee and Jeff Williams, then Prompto and Noelle sang a duet of Just a Kiss by Lady Antebellum.

Noelle whispered something to Prompto. Prompto nodded and then turned back to the mic.

"This last song is dedicated to my best friend who... who I wish was more than just my friend. I love you." Prompto said. Noctis was shocked. Did Prompto just confess to him in front of this crowd?!

Prompto's fingers moved across the instrument in his hand.

Noctis's heart fluttered as he watch Prompto sing. He looked out in to the audience, his blue eyes seeming to glow.

And I don't want the world to see me, because I don't think that they'll understand. When everything's made to be broken, I just want you to know who I am."

They entered the music break and Prompto's eyes closed, losing himself in the music. Noctis was mesmerized by him. The expression on his face sent tingles through Noctis's body.

"Noct, now is the time to use that backstage pass." Gladio said. Noctis nodded and headed towards the backstage area, showing the guard his pass, he stepped backstage. Another guard lead him to Prompto's dressing room.

Noctis sat and waited. Finally, after what felt like forever, the door opened and the blonde stepped through. Noctis stood up.

"Sorry I'm late, so I wanted- Noct?!" Prompto jumped when he realised Noctis was there instead of Iris. Noctis smirked and approached the man.

"So." Noctis started. He grabbed Prompto by his waist and pulled him closer, closing the door behind him.

"You just want me to know who you are, huh?" He asked, referring to the song. Prompto blushed brightly.

"I-I didn't th-think you'd b-be here. I thought y-you'd b-be planing y-your wedding wi-with Luna..." he said.

"My wedding? With Luna? What gave you that idea?" Noctis asked.

"I.. I heard Iris say..." he said shyly.

"Iris is in high school. Rumors spread. I hadn't chosen my bride yet." Noctis said.

"H-hadn't? So you have now?" He asked. Noctis shrugged.

"If you meant what you said about me on that stage before the song, then I think I have a pretty good idea of who I want to marry." Noctis said, holding Prompto to his chest.

"W-wait, really? I-is that allowed?!" Prompto asked.

"It says nowhere that my bride has to be female. Just as long as I am married. All we need is my father's approval." Noctis said.

"W-wait, Noct... are you... are you proposing to me?" Prompto asked breathlessly. Noctis tilted Prompto's chin up and pressed a soft kiss to his lips. Prompto leaned in to the kiss, accepting it happily. His hands rested on the Prince's shoulders.

Noctis broke away and took a small step back, then took one knee before Prompto, holding both of his hands.

"I love you. So, Prompto Argentum, will you marry me?" Noctis asked, a soft smile on his face. Tears of joy rolled down Prompto's cheeks as the blonde smiled at his Prince.

"Yes." He said. Noctis sprung to his feet and kissed Prompto fiercely. Prompto held on to his shoulders and kissed him back. They barely even heard the door open.

"Hey, Prompto! Sean and Mark were wondering- OH! I'm sorry! I didn't mean to interrupt, I'll leave you to it, then!" Noelle said and ran out, closing the door behind her.

"Heh... Noelle means well. She really does." He panted. Noctis rolled his eyes and pecked a soft kiss on Prompto's lips.

"Just wait until I buy your ring. Then I'll propose in front of our friends." Noctis whispered in his ear and pulled the blonde in to another kiss.

"I love you, Noct." Prompto whispered.

"I love you, Prompto." Noctis said.

And they lived happily ever after.
