Pairing: Bucky Barnes x Reader

You were watching a movie on Netflix, munching on a big bowl of F/F popcorn.

You were at home alone. Your boyfriend, Bucky, was hanging out with Steve for the day and you had nothing to do, so you decided on Netflix and Popcorn, sitting on your small, leather couch in the miniature apartment that you and Bucky shared.

When the movie reached your favourite scene, the doorbell of your apartment dinged. You sighed and reluctantly paused the movie, set the bowl of popcorn aside, and walked towards your door.

"Who is it?" You asked, a part of you expecting it to be Bucky who forgot to bring his keys.

"It's me, sis!"

You were taken aback by the voice, it was the voice you least expected to hear. It was your brother, Tony Stark, who couldn't find time to visit you from everything that happened since 2008, but now you guessed he finally had the time.

You two were extremely close as kids, until the assassination of your parents. You and Tony got separated due to some complications, but he would visit you, until 2008. He sent you a letter regarding what happened, and ever since then, all you got were letters or e-mails telling you about his adventures.

With excitement taking over your emotions, you quickly opened your door.

"TONY!!!" You squealed, jumping onto your brother, almost making him collapse by surprise.

'Woah, Woah, little sis, you're not that light anymore!" Despite that comment, he embraced you and managed to get you down.

"Tony, I missed you so much!" You said.

"I miss you too, Y/N," Tony replied, inviting you into a hug. You accepted it and the both of you pulled each other into a tight but warm hug.

"Tony, I hope you take this well, but I want to tell you something." You started. You wanted to tell him about you and Bucky being together. However, at that moment, you hear the door open.

"Y/N! I'm back!" You hear someone call. Bucky.

Oh no, you thought frantically, Tony doesn't know yet! Bucky came back before I could tell him!

When he saw you with Tony, he froze and his eyes widened in surprise. He didn't misunderstand that you were cheating on him, he knew that Tony was your brother and he also knew that you knew that he was the cause of your parents' death. But you and Bucky knew very well that Tony didn't know that the both of you were together.

"Y-Y/N!" Tony pulled away from the hug as he stammered in shock. "He's your boyfriend, isn't he?! There are so many people in the world, and you chose him?!"

"Tony, you don't understand-" You began but got cut off.

"No, I do understand! This man killed our parents!" Tony yelled, glaring daggers at Bucky, making him feel the guilt he felt again, of being the Winter Soldier.

"Listen, Tony! He wasn't himself! Which part of 'Brainwashed by HYDRA' do you not understand?!"

Bucky ran out of the house, not being able to handle your argument, and mostly because of the guilt that began to weigh on his shoulders.

"Bucky! Wait!" You called but you heard the door close shut.

You then turned to your brother.

"Seriously, Tony?!" You yelled, frustrated at your brother. "You just had to bring up that topic again! Do you know how long it took for him to talk to me without that guilty look in his eyes?! Do you not know how many times I had to reassure him that it was okay and that it wasn't his fault?! Why can't you start to forgive people for a change?"

You then stormed off your apartment, not forgetting your keys, and slammed the door shut, leaving Tony to stand there.

It was now Tony's turn to feel a wave of guilt. You were right: He should have learned to forgive Bucky, to accept him for what he did, especially if it wasn't really his fault and that Bucky didn't have a choice. He regretted everything bad he said about Bucky now.

"What have I done?" Tony muttered.

* * *

You ran after Bucky who was running up the stairs outside of the apartments. Fearing the worst, you yelled frantically, "Bucky! Don't you dare do what I'm thinking you might do!!!"

"Get away from me! I'm a monster!" You heard Bucky yell back as he ran up the stairs faster.

"No you're not! Tony's being a jerk!" You replied.

"No Y/N, Tony's right!" Your heard Bucky's voice crack a little.

He reached the rooftop before you. You began to run faster until you reached the rooftop.

You looked around briefly and feared that he already jumped. You look over the edge of the rooftop, but much to your relief, nothing.

You turned around to find him again and something caught your eye: Someone in the shadows sat in the corner with his knees to his chest. However, something glinted in the darkness. A metal arm.

You heaved a sigh of relief. It was Bucky.

"Bucky..." You softly mutter as you approached him and sat next to him.

Bucky didn't budge. He just sat there and stared at the distance.

You slowly pull your hand out to comfort him but before you could-

"Don't touch me," He whispered. "I don't want to hurt you."

"Buck, it's okay. I forgive you, remember? Tony's just... blinded by vengeance. Like T'Challa when he thought that you bombed Vienna."

"But Vienna wasn't me, that's why he let it go."

"Well, my parents' murder wasn't your fault. You didn't have a choice." You reassured.

"I know," He answered. "But I did it."

"But you have to forgive yourself, like how Tony has to forgive you. Bucky, listen. Tony is not the forgiving type, you need to learn how to stop blaming yourself for that."

"What did I do to deserve you, Y/N?" Bucky asked as you hugged him. Fortunately, he didn't decline it this time. He hugged you back.

"Everything will eventually be fine, Bucky. Even if it doesn't seem so." You reassured.

You felt extremely happy that you were able to comfort him again. Especially if you meant everything you said.

Bucky felt like the luckiest person in the universe, because he always had you by his side. You were always there for him, good times and bad.

"Come on," You said. "Let's go back. I have a movie and a huge bowl of Popcorn waiting."

* * *

The both of you went down and you opened the door with your keys. The both of you went inside to find out that Tony wasn't there.

"I think he went back," You guessed. "Let's watch the movie."

You played the movie as soon as you and Bucky sat comfortably on the couch. The movie was Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.

"Say," Bucky began. "Don't you think that Human Torch guy looks very familiar to you?"

All of a sudden, the both of you heard the door creak open. Bucky froze and you stood up and paused the movie, since you and Bucky were expecting it to be Tony.

Instead, Steve walked in.

"Y/N, Buck," He greeted. "Do either of you happen to know about Tony's whereabouts? He isn't in the tower, or the facility upstate."

You and Bucky looked at each other. Bucky looked at the paused screen that showed Human Torch's face, then looked at Steve and did a double take.

"Well..." You started.

"Tony did drop by to visit Y/N, but he left." Bucky finished quickly.

"Where could he be..." Steve muttered a little too loudly.

"Wait a minute, Tony's missing?!" You yelled, worried for your brother.

All Steve could do was nervously give a small nod.

"If he went anywhere usual, FRIDAY could track him. But FRIDAY couldn't track him, which would mean that Tony's somewhere under the radar, but he would have no reason to go to such a place. We could only assume that he's been kidnapped." Steve explained.

You and Bucky looked at each other again. This time, both of your worried eyes shared a message.

HYDRA.
