Dawn
A snow eclipse is upon us
Ferries of fairies carrying windswept
Lush in cradles of frosted baby's breath,
It blurs the skyline, waters the horizon
And sweetens the stratosphere in silver
Rays of steel. Violet embraces, snowmen
Wrapped in hand-knit scarves and
perforated with baby carrot sticks,
A splash of luminescent laughter,
A scarce lifetime affixed––
A scrape of overturned slush,
Pinky fingers intertwined as
Symbols of eternal love
They show me how to move on
In the way tears hurt but glimmer
And clouds, patiently, wane and fawn.
They show me how to wait for dawn.
