David Bowie
Warning: Very sad post
Okay, so as we all know, David Bowie passed away earlier this year. As I also stated in my previous post, I've been heavily getting into Brian Eno in the past few weeks, and being the fact that the two had very similar styles, worked together, etc., I've also been reexamining a lot of Bowie's classic work.
Let's just say, for me their is a real bittersweetness to listening to Bowie now. On one hand, it makes me so happy and his music was so innovative and so forth, and I love that. On the other hand, it hurts a little because I am reminded that he is no longer with us and we will never get the pleasure of hearing the next direction Bowie has decided to take, never get to hear another great Bowie album fresh out, and it just is so sad.
Bowie was a living legend, and now he is one for the angels. It is strange not having him around anymore.
If you're wondering where this is coming from, again, Brian Eno has gotten me heavily back into Bowie, and yesterday I was watching a video about David Bowie and they were discussing his passing, and at the end they played a montage of some of his stuff, and I nearly started crying in class.
Please tell me I'm not the only one still in this boat.
