Classic Rock Crushes
Hey guys, pull up a chair, whip up some coffee/ tea/ cocoa/ whatever the hell you want you drink, and listen up.
I'm going to tell you about:
The history of my classic rock crushes.
I am going to tell you the history of my crushes, rather, the history of the guys in classic rock I've had a thing for. Now, I'm going to skip over the guys I've just casually thought were really cute, and go for the ones I fell really hard for, so, let's get started.
1. Ace Frehley
I know what you're thinking, "she doesn't even like KISS, does she?" Well, if you said that, you'd be right. I don't like KISS.
At all.
However, despite all my shame, I must give credit to this man for one thing, he was the first classic rocker I can remember having a crush on.
And now I am beyond embarrassed about it. Like, can you imagine this sweet little face having a crush on a member of KISS?
This photo was from my yearbook from when I was like, six, so that's why the picture looks like crap.
2. Ringo Starr
Okay, I have zero shame about this. This was from when I was about seven. He is still a cinnamon roll to me, and he always will be.
3. Bono
Okay, seven/eight year old me had great taste. I mean, I'm looking at this and I'm like, "Damn, boy!"
4. Jim Morrison
I was about nine. This is when my parents realized I actually began to like like guys, completely having ignored the previous few years.
5. Denny Laine
This was Paul McCartney's guitarist, by the way.
I was about twelve to thirteen (before that I had crushes on guys I actually knew 😂😂). Yeah, he still looks cute to me.
6. Keith Moon
I was thirteen. This was the beginning of me moving into the classic rock fandom.
7. Pete Townshend
I was fourteen, and The Who was the band that brought me into the classic rock fandom. I don't have a thing for him anymore, but he is still probably one of the most important people in my musical development.
8. Ray Davies
The Kinks were one of the first bands I got into after The Who, and man, Ray was so cute. (Holds in all the fangirl tears....)
9. Syd Barrett
I was fourteen. If I need to explain this to you, there is no hope for you.
10. Peter Gabriel
I was fifteen and falling for prog, and Genesis, and Peter Gabriel. Don't judge.
So, yeah, this seemed like an interesting little tale. Can you relate to any of this? Tell me in the comments!
