Album Rating: Roxy Music
I'm going to do my next rating on Roxy Music because, well, I want to!
Plus, I'm literally in love with this band.
Okay, let's begin! (Ignore the sexy album covers.)
1. Roxy Music
10/10
This album is so unlike anything else that had come before it. Frankly, it's probably in the top five best debut albums. The sound that this album has is simply otherworldly.
2. For Your Pleasure
10/10
Okay, so let's just take everything great about the first album and magnify it. Seriously, I strongly recommend this album to those who haven't heard it. (Really, find it on Spotify and give it a listen!) It changes your perception of music as a whole.
3. Stranded
9.5/10
Perhaps not as earth-shattering as the previous album, it definitely holds absolute integrity all the way through. It is a solid, satisfying listen. (It's also Brian Eno's favorite).
4. Country Life
9/10
Country Life is a bit of a continuation of the previous ideas. However, none of the songs are stale in the least.
5. Siren
10/10
This album is a return to absolute artistic form. This is just one killer track after another, and it is so great. Quite repeat-worthy....
6. Manifesto
6/10
This album is let down city! They try some funky stuff here that just does not work.
At all.
However, a couple tracks are really good, so it does have its redeeming points.
7. Flesh and Blood
7/10
Unpopular Opinion: this album is stronger then Manifesto. Though definitely the most poppy of all the albums, it has some really good and memorable tracks.
8. Avalon
10/10
This is a fabulous swan song to an amazing, artistic band. It is so smooth and sweet, and it leaves the output of Roxy Music fully bookended by perfect albums.
Ranking:
8. Manifesto
7. Flesh and Blood
6. Country Life
5. Stranded
4. Avalon
3. Siren
2. Roxy Music
1. For Your Pleasure
