The Boar Makes A Decision

Emily's POV;

I sat down in my wooden chair, I huffed, the tables were three to a group, which meant I might be stuck with someone I don't like.

I was normally optimistic, however I didn't want to jinx myself on something like this, I settled on staring out the window, the dreary sight did little for my mood. I analyzed the sky, it was dark, a foggy blanket billowed throughout the sky, the sun was nowhere to be seen. My face went solemn, I could sympathize with the sun, it was lonely, so close to the earth, yet so far. The weather could go either way, just like my school-year.

I mentally berated myself, I shouldn't think so negatively!

I heard a loud ringing resound throughout the halls, most of the students were already here and I saw groups form, I could almost imagine ghost-like walls forming between different sections.

And I was all alone.

The thought made me sag somewhat, I heard light, yet confident footsteps approach, I glanced up and stared in confusion, there was a girl standing with her hands on her hips, her medium-length wavy blonde hair standing out in the classroom, she had evenly trimmed bangs and shining emerald eyes, she wore a confident grin. The boy behind her trembled slightly, his dirty-blonde hair was somewhat shaggy, I couldn't see his eyes because he was in a staring contest with the floor. One he was obviously destined to win.

"Hello?" I said, however it came out as more of a question. The blonde girl stuck her hand out and happily exclaimed "Hi! My name is Sandra! This doofus is Jack." Sandra explained as she motioned towards Jack. I nodded with a confused expression, before a similarly wolfish grin bloomed on my face "I'm Emily!" I informed the look-alikes. I tilted my head "Say... Are you two siblings?" I asked slowly, Sandra paused then burst out laughing "Yep! How could you tell?" she asked, I realized she was being serious and so I replied "You look alike!"

Jack looked up long enough to see his equally as impressive green eyes "Really...?" he asked shyly. I nodded and gave him a thumbs up.

Sandra, Jack and I would get along just fine.

Class was horribly dull, naturally Sandra and Jack took up places beside me, I was by the window on the far left, Sandra in the middle, and Jack on the far right side, the door side.

The bell signalled lunch "Alright!" the teacher, Mr. R ( 'So you never bothered to learn his real name?' 'SHUT UP!' ) "After lunch, gather in the gym and spread out, this is your chance to look at the school and look for a club!" Mr. R called out happily.

I smiled and turned to the siblings "Is there any kind of club you plan for?" I asked while sorting through my bag and praying that my lunch would show itself. Sandra looked up from her pink phone "Nope! Though we are gonna look around." Sandra assured me while giving a thumbs up, Jack nodding shyly in the background.

I smiled "Ok! I just have to pick between a sport..." My face turned comically serious ( It was an unnatural expression for me. ) Sandra laughed as Jack stood up. I walked out of the class with a brief one-handed wave to my friends.

I strolled through the busy halls, it was strange. I had this feeli- hunch that something bad was going to happen, though that didn't happen to normal people right? ( 'as if you count as normal, I think you broke out of a mental ward' 'I DIDN'T!' '...Really? Could've fooled me.' ) I hummed to myself, there was volleyball, basketball, tennis, soccer, football, baseball etc. ( 'lazy much' )

I turned a corner and felt a small body bump into me, I looked down and gulped audibly...

It was the dangerous girl.

Sure, she looked harmless but her soulless stare unnerved me...

"Hello." she greeted calmly, I nervously chuckled and nodded "u-uh, yea... So, what's your name? I'm Emily." I greeted and stuck my hand out. The silver-haired girl stared at my hand for a heartbeat "Why would I tell you my name?" she asked(?) blandly. I felt my short temper flare "Fine! I'll give you a name until you tell me yours! ... Hmm..." I began thinking deeply. The girl looked at me "Be careful, your brain might short-circuit." she commented, her monotone voice making my blood boil, if she was going to insult me at least put emotions into it!

I glared, forgetting the dangerous aura of the midget ( 'ok, now you're exaggerating.' 'Would you please just go away?!' ) in front of me,

"Aha! I'll call you Tiger!" I shouted while pointing at her, my finger falling just short of her face. The girl's eyebrows furrowed in annoyance, she obviously realized that her innocent appearance didn't fool me! ( 'or she was just annoyed by the stupid nickname...' )

"If I'm a tiger you're a boar." she retorted while giving me a withering look.

I glared back, everyone gave us a few meters of space.

== After club-viewing ==

I trotted back into the classroom, I was smiling broadly even after the tiger incident.

Sandra and Jack had already taken their seats "Did you find a club to join?" Sandra asked, I nodded "Yea! I'm going to do competitive swimming!" I declared happily. Sandra grinned and flashed me a peace-sign, I did the same, Jack gave me a rare smile, to which I returned

"So what about you guys?" I asked curiously, I had already signed up for the swim club so I wasn't concerned about that, I was more worried for my friends "Ah, I didn't... Though Jack joined the photography club! I'm thinking of joining too!" Sandra explained. I beamed at her "That sounds great! If I had more patience I would take up photography..." I sheepishly chuckled while scratching my cheek. Sandra laughed and Jack chuckled quietly.

The bell rung for class to start, the introductory club meeting was at the end of the day, I couldn't wait.

I made my way to the field, from there I went to a small building where the indoor pool was, lucky for me it had heating!

I walked into the building, it was brick and felt homely I smiled at the small group of people, it was an all-girl swim team too.

There was the girl, I guessed captain, who had long red hair in a ponytail, she looked confident, mature and kind. Another girl with short blonde hair and blue eyes, she seemed like the kind of girl you would want for a little sister. A serious looking girl with medium length black hair and green eyes. A Brunette with medium length hair, green eyes and purple glasses, she seemed shy.

And...

The tiger girl?!

We stared at each other, both dumbfounded.

Let the hunt begin.
