Writer's Pov;

"Our team arranged a welcome dinner for her tomorrow at Park Elanza!" Gayathri exclaimed, glancing at her best friend to gauge his reaction, who was trying so hard to hide his lips from curving up in a smile. Being best friends for more than 10 years, Gayathri knew him well, at least about his love affair. She laughed when she heard his shameless order.

"I'll pick you up after dinner." Siddharth declared, his eyes twinkling as he walked past her, leaving behind his family in shock. A chuckle escaped his mouth when he heard everyone cheering.

"Finally!"

"But, I'm her husband, bro! I can pick her up!" Abishek exclaimed, following his cousin to the kitchen, who turned around at his words causing everyone to facepalm.

Despite being a genius in science, Abishek's emotional intelligence was low, which made them believe God only gave him a high IQ, not EQ.

"It's okay, Abi. You don't have to tire yourself by traveling. I'll pick up your wife; you just concentrate on your thesis. We don't want to disturb your studies, do we?" Siddharth raised an eyebrow, leaning back on the kitchen counter, his brown eyes scanning his cousin's face and his sharp nose looking tall and proud under the dimly lit light.

"Hey! Why do you make it sound so bad?! It's never tiring to pick up my wife!" Face scrunched up in irritation, Abishek argued, crossing his arms across his chest, trying to match Siddharth's stance.

Knowing his cousin well through, Siddharth smirked, patting him on his cheeks and teased, "Who are you lying to? You are just going for free food. Am I wrong?"

"I'm not!" Abishek frowned, swatting the DCP's hands off his face.

"Whatever lets you sleep at night, foodie!" Siddharth rolled his eyes and walked out of the kitchen, placing a kiss on his mother's forehead as he retired to the night while Abi complained to his wife.

"Gayu! Did you see how arrogant he is? Why are you even helping him? You should let him suffer!"

"Sorry, babe. Bros before hoes, remember?" Gayathri laughed, circling her arms around her pouting husband's neck, who leaned down and pecked her forehead with an annoyed sigh.

One day he would get his revenge, and that day was not far away.

Prathy Residence, 6.00 PM

"Manohar! Did you seriously buy her that car?" Rani exclaimed in disbelief seeing a brand-new Audi parked in the garage, walking inside her home to see no one in sight. She took a deep breath, closing her eyes to calm herself before following the sound from the laundry room.

She stopped on her track at the threshold to find her husband ironing their daughter's saree while humming and swaying to the music blasting from upstairs. Even from downstairs, she would feel the music tempo against her feet. She could only imagine the volume that the song was playing inside her daughter's room.

"Prathy! Keep down that horrible music!" Feeling the incoming headache, Rani yelled, startling her husband, who flinched at her sound as she removed her glasses and placed them on the table beside her.

For a second, the music stopped causing Rani to sigh in relief as she leaned against the wall. Manohar frowned, looking up at the ceiling in disbelief when he heard the music stop. 'This is definitely not his daughter.'

Rani's eyes snapped open when the music came back with force, the volume even higher than before as if mocking her, to which her husband laughed heartily, his tall figure crouched down as he tried to stop his laughter to avoid her wrath.

"You guys are going to drive me crazy!" Rani exclaimed, closing the door, shutting down the music successfully, but still, she could feel the tempo of the music boom through the walls. At least this is better.

"Now answer me! Did you seriously buy that car for her? We still have so much to buy for her and her marriage! Is that luxury car necessary now?" She questioned, crossing her arms across her chest angrily. She could not digest that her husband had gifted Prathy the Audi car, considering that they'd started groom hunting for Prathy.

She could understand that he wanted to gift something to Prathy for her promotion, but buying a 35L car is over the top, and not to mention they have a huge list to do for her, but her husband never cares for the future.

His daughter's wishes were always his no.1 priority.

"Don't act deaf!

Hearing her angry tone, Manohar turned around to face her with a sheepish smile, his hands holding a black saree that Prathyuksha asked him to iron.

"Our daughter got promoted, so I bought it!" He feigned innocence as he tilted his head to the side pitifully, causing Rani to smile lightly.

'Concentrate, Rani.' She reprimanded herself and questioned her husband, who continued steam ironing the dress. "I know that! But is it necessary to spend that much on that car?"

"I earn more than enough for one generation. If I don't spend it on Prathy and you, who would I spend it on?" He asked, his voice soft and gentle, filled with pain as he placed the iron box on the holder, facing his wife, who rushed to embrace him.

Manohar was an orphan from birth, found in front of an orphanage in a basket. Growing up in an orphanage, he was forced to fight and struggle for everything in life. Every day, people came and went but never was he adopted or even shown love which resulted in him studying his ass off so people would notice him, and it did. Passing his boards with flying colors he got a full scholarship to Tamil Nādu law college.

From that, everything fell in place. He got what he longed for from birth.

Money and Love. Now he has both, more than enough to spend.

"I understand." Rani sighed against his chest, hands reaching up to caress his face, to which he leaned against her palm with a smile.

"I have something for you too."

"Huh?" Rani blinked, confused as he took a small box out of his trouser pocket.

"Here," Manohar opened the box and presented it to his wife, who gasped seeing the beautiful nose ring nestled in the velvet box.

"Thank you for always standing beside me." He expressed sincerely.

"You don't have to! I stand by you always." Rani's lips curved up in a smile as she thanked him shyly.

"I have to. A beautiful nose ring for my beautiful wife." Manohar praised, kissing the tip of her nose, causing her to bashfully smile as she hid her face in his chest.

"Knock, knock. Shall I come in?" A voice asked from the other side of the door, filled with mischief and teasing as the person tapped against the door, waiting for her parents' approval.

The couple broke apart at their daughter's call, busing themself by looking around innocently.

"Come in, Prathy." Manohar cleared his throat, a smile breaking out on his face when his daughter walked inside, her charcoal eyes lined with eyeliner, high cheeks dusted with a slight blush, and her lips daubed with red lipstick, adding a charm to her already beautiful self.

"Hi ma, I hope you enjoyed my beautiful music." Prathyuksha smiled, a smile that's not a smile, as she embraced her mother from behind and pecked her cheeks lightly.

Rani rolled her eyes and asked, "You call that music beau

"No need to thank me, ma. It's my pleasure." Prathyuksha winked, pinching her mother's cheeks.

"Ouch! Be gentle." Rani exclaimed, her face scrunched up in pain as she massaged her cheeks and smiling when her daughter placed a kiss on her cheeks, mumbling sorry. "Get ready quickly. We can do a puja for the car, and then you can go to dinner."

"Okay." Prathyuksha nodded, forwarding her hand to her father, "My saree, pa?"

"2 minutes, darling."

"You were ironing when I went to shower, which was 20 minutes ago. I don't think it would take 20 minutes to iron it. What were you guys doing?" Prathyuksha narrowed her eyes at her parents, raising her eyebrows at them teasingly as she leaned against the wall beside the ironing board.

"It's all your mother's fault! She can't stand staying away from me for the whole day, so she was disturbing me!" Manohar blamed his wife, bursting into laughter when she gasped at his shameless accusation.

"Don't blame me for your laziness, Mano!"

"Excuse me? Who was the one who hugged me when I was busy ironing?" He countered back, a teasing smile playing on his lips as he watched his wife blink, clearly flustered as she shook her head negatively at his words.

Watching her parents bicker back and forth, Prathyuksha sighed dreamily, wishing she meet her future partner soon so that she doesn't feel lonely whenever her parents showed off their relationship, not knowing that she is going to meet him soon.

Very soon.
