Chapter 3

After a delicious lunch provided by Avi, Mitch and Candice drive two blocks over to Kirstie's shop. His parents wouldn't be home yet any way so it gave him time to catch up. He still had no plans to see Scott but knew Kirstie would probably try to talk him into it.

"So this is her booth?"

"That's what Avi said."

"Heh, cute picture of the the two of you."

"Thanks. That was after junior prom. We all went to Kevin's after. I think he still might be mad Scott and I lost our virginities on his bed."

"Mitch, too much information. And for the record, I would have probably kicked your ass and threw you two out of my house. He sounds like a better friend than me."

"He is"

She threw a comb at him as he laughed. A short dark haired girl walked up to them with a smirk on her face.

"Avi said you were home but I didn't believe him."

"KIT!"

They hugged each other tight. It was obvious the love they had for each other. They had been next door neighbors their entire lives and best friends through thick and thin.

"I missed you so much MitMat."

"I missed you too KitKat."

They pulled apart wiping their eyes. They held hands, grinning from ear to ear as they stared at each other. Candice cleared her throat. She wasn't jealous of their closeness. Just felt sort of awkward.

"Kit, this is Candice my personal assistant."

"Nice to meet you."

"You too."

"So you just get in?"

"Yeah, this place hasn't changed."

"At all. I'm excited! You finally get to meet your god children!"

"I saw them on Facebook. Sophie looks like you and AJ is Avi Jr. for sure."

"I know. You should see Scott with them. He's amazing with kids."

Kirstie didn't actually mean to bring up Scott. She knew he probably wouldn't want to talk about him but she couldn't help herself.

"Sorry Mit."

"No it's fine. Avi and I already talked. He told me I should go see him. I don't really want to."

"You should."

"Candice is right. I know he'd appreciate it. He keeps up with your career. We thought he'd be bitter but he follows it like a hawk. Saves every magazine and picture of you that comes out."

"He does?"

"Yes Mit, that boy still loves you. No matter what man or woman comes along, he'll never love another as much as he loves you."

"Woman?"

"Scott's pansexual."

Candice shook her head. She didn't understand the difference between the two. Kirstie placed her hand on Mitch's shoulder.

"Mit, you should go see him."

"I'll stay here. Maybe Kirstie do my hair and we can bond. This feels like something you should alone. Just pick me up after."

He shook his head. He knew she would talk him into it. He wasn't ready. But he knew closure is what they both needed.

"Ok"
___________

Driving up the once dirt road, Mitch started to panic. Was he really ready? Could he really look into those eyes again? Just outside the red painted barn, stood a taller muscular man with broad shoulder and a head of think blonde hair with his back turned to the road. Scott. Mitch hesitated before getting out.

"Welcome to the Hoying Farms, what can I do for you?"

"You can start by not haunting my dreams for the past 4 and half years."

That voice. Only one person he knew had that fucking voice. But it couldn't have been. He turned around with his eyes wide. There stood the once love of his life. The basket he put all his apples in before having it ripped from his hands.

"You have got to be fucking kidding me. God damn Mitchell "Cover Model" Grassi? Just as beautiful and fucked up as the day he walked out on MY wedding proposal."

"Why, thank you, Scotty."

"Why are you here?"

"Some stupid interview my agent put together. Stopped by to see Avi and Kirstie and they both told to come see you. So here I am."

"You've got some nerve coming here."

"Yeah well, I know that. I just want closure."

"Closure? For what? Leaving me on one knee like a idiot in front of our family and friends."

Before the conversation got heated, a tall blonde haired woman came outside walking with a cane.

"Scott, come inside. It's time fo- Mitchy?"

"Hey Ms. H!"

"Mike! Nel! Come here! Shelly was right!"

His parents would be here. As a consequence of their sons' relationship, they became best friends. They were keeping to their weekend traditions. A yell is heard from inside the house before his parents run outside, grabbing their son in a tight hug.

"My baby!"

"Momma! Papa!"

"How about we go inside. I was just about to serve dinner. Scott, call the rest of your friends and invite them. We can celebrate Mitchy's return."

Mitch glanced as Scott rolled his eyes and took out his phone. Their eyes meet in an uncomfortable contest of wills. Mitch's mom grabbed his hand and pulled him in.
