"He whispered,
I love you.
In so many ways,
that none understood.
None.
but.
Her"

The following morning, Aanabia woke up almost crushed to the core by Yazdan's heavy body over her. She did not know he had a habit of cuddling things, that too to death. Which happened to be exactly what he was doing to her. She heaved a strangulated breath and pushed him off her, before sitting up. While doing so, she swore she felt every part of her body cry in pain. She glanced over to see the giant sleeping soundly beside her, his dark mess of a hair covering his eyes and his toned arms hidden under the white pillows. Smiling to herself, she placed a kiss on his forehead before picking up her phone. Messaging him to let her sleep in today (because she was too tired to look for a note and pen), she fell back asleep.
Yazdan woke up around 10am. He immediately turned to see if Aanabia was alright. This was because his brothers and Yahyah have always told him that he cuddled things a lot (be it pillows, humans or clothes, he just needs something to hold to sleep) when sleeping and would often sleep atop it, while cuddling. So he had to make sure he did not accidentally kill his wife while sleeping. When he saw she was soundly asleep, he smiled and got off the bed. Taking his phone with him, he walked into the bathroom to brush and shower. Do not wake me up please. Need sleep. He read her message aloud before laughing and checking other messages while brushing. Multitask at its epitome.
By the time he was done, he was starving. So he called in room service for food and soon enough, he had his appetite satisfied, while waiting for his woman to wake up. But he knew she would sleep the day in because of how tired she was. He let her sleep while he worked and answered emails and messages that he had been ignoring all this while.
The day passed as such and Sunday went uneventful and before the two knew it, they were on flight to Australia. Yazdan and Aanabia were heading to Adelaide, straight away while the other Zaeef's headed to their own destinations. The two knew they had a wedding to prepare for but for now, they decided to let it be.
-
Two days at the hotel and a day flight to Australia tired Yazdan to no ends. And being home, with nothing but his wife was something he looked forward to very much. She would finally see his humble abode. But will she like it?
Yazdan's house was located in a small town called Sawarah, an hour away from Adelaide city. The town was famous for its pine trees and sandalwood. It was surrounded by forests of the said trees and the people preserved it for good. The town's mayor, Mr. Smith always advocated on climate change and Sawarah was one of the towns which took Climate Change very seriously, especially with all the bush fires coming up. Yazdan was working on the greenhouse project with them, the one he had to postpone for his marriage. Now when he is back, he has to finish it before anything else.
The whole ride to Yazdan's place, Aanabia kept her gaze outside. This place was refreshing to her and she loved it. It felt like a fairytale.
Yazdan's house was a wooden two storey house with a large front and backyard which housed lots of plants and was right infront of the woods. Yazdan parked the car at the garage and turned to Aanabia with a smile.
"Welcome home"
-
Aanabia was happy. She was very glad she married Yazdan to this point, even if it had been a few days only. She smiled back at him, with a nod.
"Shall we?" he asked her and she nodded. She got off the vehicle and looked around the place. The garage was open on the sides and the roof was wooden. This made her question what the house would look like. She turned to Yazdan with a grin.
"Can I look around?" she asked him and he nodded at her. So she began. She walked around the garage, letting the dust coat her white sneakers. Finally. The garden in the front looked pretty messed up, perhaps because of getting no attention for quite a few months now. Aanabia smiled to herself. Perfect. I have things to do here. The front yard had white picket fence, along which grew creepers. Aanabia walked to the end of the fence and stood, staring up at the house. From the outside, it looked like it had two storey's with an attic. It was wooden with aluminum tinted windows.
"Aanabia!" She looked over to Yazdan who stood with the suitcases by the main door. "Come on"
She nodded at him before jogging towards the main door. Yazdan opened the door and immediately walked over to open all the windows to let the light and air in. Aanabia stood by the door, taking in the beauty of the house in front of her. She took off her shoes at the main door and walked inside. It was old fashioned, with a living room on the right and the kitchen on the left with a conjoined dining room. There was a hallway leading to lord knows where so she followed it. It opened into a patio, which had glass windows showing off the outside deck. YAZDAN'S HOUSE HAS A DECK! She grinned before opening the door and walking outside. The wood was cool under her sock clad feet. She walked to the edge of it, only to see small stone steps leading outside to the forests. She stood by the edge and took in the morning air.
The sunlight penetrated through the mass canopy of trees and glinted over her fair skin, warming it up. She smiled in content. I could get used to this. She felt hands over her stomach, familiar ones and a chin on her shoulder. Her entire body erupted in familiar tingles and sparks, causing her heart to race slightly. By the scent of the person, she knew it was her husband. She grinned with her eyes still closed.
"You look too beautiful out here" he whispered to her, inhaling her scent mixed with the morning air of Adelaide. She did, to Yazdan anyway. She had chosen to wear one of Yazdan's t-shirt that fell to her thighs and jeans underneath it with a large coat over it all since it was cold in UK when they left. But Adelaide was a whole different mood. It was sunny and bright here so the coat was taken off when she got in the SUV with Yazdan.
"This is amazing. Did you design it yourself?" she asked him and he hummed in response. She let out a small laugh. The two were swaying slightly, with Yazdan having the rhythm control.
"We should head inside." He told her after a while and she nodded. Yazdan let her go and took hold of her hands. His eyes shined in mirth while she laughed, blushing slightly. He chuckled at her, kissed her tinted cheeks and stared at her blatantly. Aanabia rolled her eyes and pushed his face away, so he would not look at her. The unspoken words were clear as day. I love you. Yet neither spoke it. Yazdan did whisper it multiple times on the night of their Nikah and perhaps after that too, but not too obviously. It was more of the little things he did to show that he really loved her. And she understood.
"Let's head inside" she muttered, pulling his hand with her as she went.
"You saw the kitchen and living room. So upstairs has four bedrooms for when the brothers or mom decide to crash in. Usually I didn't stay here. I stayed with Yahyah, it was easier. Free food, Yahyah and good time" he told her, as he picked up two suitcases and walked up the steps. Aanabia followed him. The steps were wide and polished. He is very neat. She observed.
"So basically you lived with Yahyah all the time? And where does Yahyah live?" she questioned him, as they came to a halt at the end of the stairs. The top floor was as well kept as the bottom floor. There were artworks lining the halls (which was wide) and at the end of the hallway, there were glassed doors.
"He lives next door with a large barn" Yazdan made a joke with a laugh, one which Aanabia did not understand. When he saw the confusion on her face, he shrugged and gestured to the two doors at the end of the hallways.
"Those two doors lead to the outside of this floor. Sort of a balcony but not exactly. It's all around the house so if you walk out of one door, you can enter the house from the other. There is also a stairs leading down from the back" Yazdan explained to her and she nodded. He then took a right and opened a wooden door. He walked inside and Aanabia followed suit. He turned to her with a grin.
"Make yourself at home" he told her before walking past her to get the other bags. She looked around the room and raised an eyebrow at how neat and organized everything was.
The room was large. It had the bed at the very end of it, right beside the glassed windows which had the curtains drawn. Aanabia walked inside and opened the curtains, letting light in. There was a door which opened to let her out of the room into the balcony, if that is what it's called. She turned around and walked slowly, taking everything in.
On the wall opposite the bed, was a huge noticeboard. On it were pinned multiple papers, sticky notes, drawings and blueprints. At the very top, Yazdan Zaeef was written in cursive letters. She let her fingers trace them gently. There was a table placed right infront of the notice board, catering a neatly stacked books, multiple stacked paper holders with lots of papers, a few drawing pads over each other and is that a pen holder with so many pencils?
"Yazdan?" she called out and he yelled back a yes from the hallway. Soon he emerged into the room with the final two suitcases. She smiled at him.
"Thank you." She told him and he shrugged at her, wiping his hands on his jeans.
"What is it?" he asked her, walking over to her. She pointed to the stack of pencils of different colors.
"Why do you have so many pencils?" she asked him frowning and he let out a chuckle.
"I draw, my love. They are all of different caliber's." he told her and she nodded at him thoughtfully. "So you like the house?"
She looked at him with a large smile, one that radiated off her face like bright light.
"I absolutely love it. Something straight out of a movie! But your lawn needs tending to. And we need to clean the house. Too dusty" she told him and he nodded her, pulling her into a hug.
"I know. And we will do it together"
"We shall" she replied, smiling to him. He smiled down at her. He's so beautiful. So cute. Aanabia laughed to herself causing Yazdan to frown.
"Why are you laughing?"
"My conscious called you beautiful and cute and I reminded of the time when you did not like me" she told him and he frowned. I bet this did not make sense to him.
It didn't.
