2| Just Admit It, Onii-chan

A few days had passed since Y/N's small outing with the blueish-haired girl. Ever since that small time they spent that day, each encounter they had at school would be a little bit awkward.

In fact, a blush would always come towards Saki's face. Y/N would be confused by this, but he would shrug it off, continuing on like nothing happened. But with Saki, it was a bit different. She still thought back to when Y/N had held her hand when he started to drag her and lead her out of the library that day. His hand had felt warm, and his hand was kind of rough. But what she found surprising, despite how rough his hand was, he still had a gentle touch. Almost soothing, even.

As time had went on, Y/N noticed their financial state. Sure, they were quite wealthy, thanks to his parents occupations, but it was enough to pay for their bills and enough to pay for Y/N's college tuition when he graduates. But Y/N wasn't concerned for his own tuition, rather his sister's. He wasn't going to lie, his sister was smart, but she could sometimes be dimwitted. Or just plain stupid sometimes. But, his sister would always come and ask him for help on her assignments and school work she would have trouble on. It didn't look like it, but Y/N was quite caring towards his younger sister. With his parents rarely home, he was pretty much the man of the house and took care of everything.

Since Y/N wasn't concerned over his tuition, he wanted to make money to at least pay for the school, or schools, that Akari aimed to enter for university. While Akari is plausible enough to get a scholarship for sports, particularly basketball, Akari aimed for high-ranking law schools. For someone who is quite active, Y/N found it odd that his sister would want to go law school, but he wasn't one to decide what her sister wanted for her career.

So, starting today, he was going to start looking for a job to hopefully take the workload off his mother for bills, but also to help pay for his sister's schooling.

The school bell then rang, signaling it was the end of the day. Grabbing his bag and slinging it over his shoulder, Y/N was one of the first few out the door. As soon as he made it off school grounds, he went to his phone, looking for any part-time job openings that he could apply for.

There were a couple, but they were quite far from his own home and a little bit farther from the school. The only closest nearby was a local coffee shop, Starbecks.

Seeing as it was the only one, he decided to head there for the job opening. It took him about half an hour, taking the train for about twenty minutes and the rest walking, he arrived in front of the shop. Although, he stopped, slightly wide-eyed as he sees the person in front of him.

In front of him was none other than Saki Kawasaki herself. The two had paused, the blueish-haired girl's hand was on the door's handle. She then instantly reels her hand back, narrowing her eyes at the Shiozaki boy.

"Are you following me?", she questioned.

Y/N blinked twice, him sighing, "Why the hell is that your answer?"

"...Nothing."

Y/N shrugs his eyes and grabs the door, him opening it as he stands off to the side. Saki looks at him confused.

"What?"

"You're going in aren't you? Ladies first."

Saki sighs, "Thanks, I guess."

She steps inside, Y/N following after. They had asked one of the employees as to where the manager's office was. Being taken there, they waited outside. They were both asked to enter at the same time, the manager interviewing them and instantly being hired, which surprised them both.

Now, the two were already working in the restaurant, Saki handling the cash register and Y/N going around from table to table, taking orders and wiping them down. They went on as normal, serving customers and taking orders, Y/N earning himself a few tips here and there. As soon as their first shift day ended, Y/N offered to take Saki home. But the girl had quickly declined and sped off, leaving Y/N confused. But he decided to shrug it off, heading over to his sister's school as they had a girl's basketball game going on.

Arriving at the school, he leans up against the main gate of the school. The basketball game was still going on, about maybe twenty or thirty minutes left before the game was over. It was then his phone started to ring, him answering it.

"Yeah, mom? ...Mm-hm...mm-hm...yeah. I'll be getting things for dinner after picking up Akari from her game...yeah. Okay. See you when you get home, then."

He sighs to himself as he began leaning up against the main gate once more. Thirty minutes would soon pass and Y/N could see his sister walking out of the school with someone next to her. As Akari drew closer to Y/N she waves goodbye to her friend.

"Bye, Komachi-chan!"

"No worries! See you tomorrow, Akari-chan!"

Akari giggles before she turns to her brother. "Sorry to keep you waiting, Nii-san."

"Don't worry about that. Who was she?"

"Hmm? Oh, her? That was Komachi-chan. She welcomed me here on my first day."

"I see, I see. Well then, let's head on down to the supermarket. Mom says she wants us to pick stuff up for dinner."

"Hai, hai!"

Y/N chuckles at his sister's cheerfulness and ruffles her hair, much to her annoyance. Heading inside the supermarket, it being a short walk from Akari's school, they go inside. Going down the various aisles to get vegetables and produce, they went down to the pasta aisle. As soon as they turned the corner, Y/N froze, letting out a surprised sound.

Akari looks at him confused before they faced front, her gaining a smug look. At the same time, as they were about to exit the aisle, Saki Kawasaki was also there, with her younger sibling, Taishi. Akari knew who he was, since she was good friends with him and Komachi. Taishi looks to his older sister, who had also paused in her spot and looking at the Shiozaki boy with slight surprise.

Taishi gains a curious look, "Nee-san, do you know him?"

"N-No, I don't. Well, kinda. H-He's just a co-worker."

"Oh, so this is one of your co-workers from your new job today, right?"

"Y-Yeah..."

Akari begins to poke Y/N's cheek. "Are?~ Are?~ Onii-san...is this the...gi--ack!"

"Keep going and I'll murder you."

"Arrgh! That's it!"

And then the usual sibling scuffle begins to occur, the two first elbowing each other's stomachs to shut up before they started to grab each other's faces. Y/N stretching his sister's mouth and cheeks while Akari was trying to use her nails to scratch his face.

Saki sighs at the two's stupidity before she walked up to the two and punched their heads. Both Y/N and Akari now crouched onto the floor, holding their heads as there was a cartoonishly sized bulge on their heads.

"Ow...what the hell was that for!?", Y/N exclaims.

"You two are being too noisy. And, you're causing a commotion," Saki replies with a straight face.

Akari pouts, "But you didn't have to punch our heads, Kawasaki-chan."

"...'Chan'?"

"What? You don't like it?"

"N-No...not necessarily..."

"Fufufu.~ That blushing face of yours is really cute, Kawasaki-chan.~"

"Wh-What are you talking about?"

With a sigh, Y/N grabs the back of Akari's shirt and begins to pull her, along with the cart they had filled with groceries. The younger Shiozaki tries to free herself from her brother's grip, Y/N only offering Saki a sheepish smile.

"H-Hey! Let me go! Nii-chan, stop pulling!"

"Sorry about that. We'll be out of your hair."

"Hey, Nii-chan! Don't ignore me! I said let me go! Hey!"

As they turn around the corner, Taishi walks towards his sister and stands next to her.

"Nee-san..."

"Hmm? What?"

"Was that your boyfriend?"

"What!? No!"

"Then why are you blushing?"

"N-No, I'm not! A-And don't you dare tell Yuzu about this!"

"Eh? Not even Setsuna-nee and Itsuki-nii?"

"Yes! Them, too!"

"O-Okay...? I don't know why you're making it such a big deal of it."

"Just stop talking about it already!"

---

"Owie..."

Y/N sighs. "Why the hell are you a pain in the ass sometimes?"

"Hmph. You love me, and you know that."

"Yeah, yeah. Now hurry and pick up the pace before we feel mom's wrath."

"Hai!~"

Silence occurs between Y/N and his sister, having already paid for the groceries and were on their way home. He thought back to the question his sister was going to ask him. Sure, he considered the girl cute, pretty even.

Like he told himself the first day here, Saki was prettier than the girls he had dated when he was back in America. But he wouldn't go so far to say he liked the girl. Besides, he really only met her a month ago or so, and he hadn't really gotten to know her that well. He had just learned she has a sibling, maybe even more. And a few days ago, he found out that she has cousins.

While Y/N was interested in the girl, he wasn't sure if she was interested in him. Then again, they barely know each other. It wasn't like all the other girls were he just blatantly accepted their confessions back at his old school. In turn, he shook it off and decided to forget about the topic. At least he tries to forget about it until his sister decides to bring up said topic.

"Soooo...that girl is one of your co-workers at your new job, huh?"

"Yeah...what about it?"

"Well, she is pretty than your previous girlfriends. I'll hand her that."

"Okay, what are you going on about?"

"Nothing, dear brother of mine. It's just that, your eyes seemed to be glued on her."

"Okay? She's not the first girl I've laid my eyes on.", Y/N replies with a roll of his eyes.

"Yeah, but, you had your eyes stuck on her for about a minute at least. That's longer than any other girl I've seen you look at!"

"And is that supposed to be some big accomplishment?"

"What I'm saying is, you're feeling some for her.~"

Y/N scoffs. "No, I'm not."

"Yeah, you are!~ It's written all over your face!"

"Okaaaay. No, I'm ignoring you."

"Ah, come on. Don't be like that, Onii-chan! Just admit it! You like her.~"

"Lalalalalala! I'm not listening. I can't hear you."

"Whatever you say, big bro. Whatever you say. Just don't deny it!~"

"Just shut up already!" 'Besides...there's no way I already like her...right? ...Who am I kidding. I don't even know her. It's just Akari being dumb. That's all it is.'

Y/N thought to himself, Akari seeing his being deep in thought. Despite all this teasing, she did think her brother was indeed interested in the girl, which he was.

Akari herself was hoping that Saki would be different than all the other girls. After all, his last girlfriends only got with to just try and bed the Shiozaki boy. From what people thought the Shiozaki boy as a hot delinquent, never seeing the real side to him. But really, Y/N was just an overall caring person and a hardworking person. That side of him was something he never showed.

Akari was just hoping that this next girl Y/N would potentially date won't be like the last girls. Especially the last one.
