The school bell could be heard ringing throughout all the classrooms, signaling the end of the day. In class 2-F, the blueish-haired girl known as Saki Kawasaki was currently humming to a tune, quietly to herself.

She was currently seated in her seat at her desk with her cousin, Yuzuru Nakamura, standing over her. He had a curious look on his face as he watched Saki put her things away with a smile on her face.

"You seem excited," Yuzuru points out.

"Hmm? Really?"

"Yeah. You're a lot more giddy than usual. Something come up?"

"Y-Yeah, sort of. Which reminds me, can you and Setsuna-nee watch over Kei-chan and the others?" Saki asks.

"Well, we don't really mind. But is there any particular reason why?"

"A-Ah, y-you see... I, um..."

The green-eyed teen only let out a small chuckle before he nudges Saki. "Yeah, I know what's going on. Just have fun. Okay?"

"Y-Yeah, thanks, Yuzu."

"Remember, my warning still stands. If he does something to you, anything wrong, I'm kicking his ass."

Saki gives Yuzuru an annoyed stare, "Don't you dare."

"Uh-huh. Sure. Anyway, see ya. Go have fun."

He sends her off with one last wave before he heads out the door. Saki sighed before she smiled as she thought about what was to occur today. Earlier in the day, Y/N had proposed to her of the idea of going out on a date to commemorate their get together as boyfriend and girlfriend.

While she didn't mind the idea, it was one that she wasn't expecting and she was quite nervous. After all, it was her first date with the first boy she's liked, so at the same time, she was excited as well.

Slinging her bag over her shoulder, the blueish-haired girl leaves her classroom and begins to make her way over to the school stairwell so she could head down to the main hall towards the lockers. Although, along the way, Saki couldn't help but feel like she was being stalked by someone. For now, she shrugged that feeling off, arriving at her locker and taking off her shoes to so she could slip on her outside shoes, putting the indoor shoes inside the locker. Once doing so, she made her way out of the school and went for the main gate, Saki blushing a bit as she eyes him.

There Y/N stood, leaning up against the school's metal gate, his phone in his hand as he fiddled with it. Saki admired him from a distance, seeing the orange horizon from the setting sun being illuminated in his bright blue eyes. It was a mesmerizing sight to see.

Y/N then put his phone into his pocket and then looked to Saki's direction, smiling a bit and waved at her. The blush on Saki's face furthered a bit more as she shyly walks up to him, Y/N chuckling at her timid nature.

"You ready to go?" Y/N questioned.

"Y-Yeah. Yuzu said he and Setsuna-nee will take care of things back home."

"Alright, then. So, any idea of where you want to go first?"

Saki crosses her arms. "You were the one who proposed the idea. I thought you had an idea of where you'd want us to go to."

"Ah, well, let's just see where we go then. Come on. How about we walk around for a bit?"

"Sure. I don't mind."

Y/N smiled, grabbing Saki's hand, making her flinch. But she soon smiled herself, gripping Y/N's hand tightly as the two went down the sidewalk, away from the school.

About an hour passed and going away from the residential area of Chiba, the two were now in the more commercial area of Chiba, heading more into the city. At the current moment, the two decided to just enjoy a leisure walk around, enjoying each other's company.

To Y/N, it felt like an ordinary date, but if anything, it felt special for the two of them. Especially for Saki. Y/N knew that this was her first time on doing such a thing, so he wanted to make it one of the best moments of her life. So the two ended up going to a chocolate cafe. The two sat down at a nearby table, having their orders being taken and their drinks having been given to them already, it being hot cocoa. The weather was considerably cold at the moment and Christmas would be here in a week or so.

"So..." Y/N began."

"Yeah?"

"Got any plans for Christmas?"

"Probably spending it with my family. Yuzu and his siblings are probably going to skip the big Christmas dinner with their dad to spend their Christmas with us."

Y/N was curious. "Any particular reason why? Ah, sorry if I'm getting into sensitive territory."

"Nah, it's okay. If you were to ask, he wouldn't talking about it. He loves to shit on his dad. And honestly, I don't blame him."

Y/N frowned. "That's odd... I suppose something happened in the past?"

Saki nodded and sighed. "Yeah. Let's just say, Yuzu and his siblings had a falling out with uncle after auntie died. It's been rough for them since, but they've gotten better. The only thing is that they aren't on talking terms with uncle."

"Well, I try not to talk about the negative topics too much, so let's switch to a lighter note," Y/N proposed.

Saki rose an eyebrow, "Oh? Like what?"

"Hmm... Let's see... Do you know how to cook?"

"Wh-Why do you wanna know that?"

"Oh, I don't know. Just wondering if a sweet girl like you would make me some lunch one day."

"Shut up, dork. ...I only know how to make simple things."

"Like what? It depends on how simple we're talking."

Saki fidgets in her seat. "...S-Simmered taro balls."

"Simmered taro balls, huh? Believe it or not, I'm not very good at cooking that."

"R-Really?" Saki says with a surprised tone.

"Yeah... I tried attempting it once... The stove ended up catching on fire. And don't ask how that happened."

It was silent for a few seconds before Saki burst out laughing, causing Y/N to look at her annoyed.

"Hey, don't laugh."

"I-I'm sorry! I just don't know how you can screw up on an easy dish like that! You even got the stove to catch on fire! How does someone even do that?" Saki says with a giggle.

Y/N sarcastically laughs, "Oh, ha ha ha. Yes, you seem to be enjoying in my failures. Glad I was able to help in some way."

"...Do you want me to teach you how to make them?"

"...Eh?"

"I-I mean, if you don't want to, it's fine! You know, if you're not for it!" Saki quickly says.

"N-No! I mean...I'd like for you to teach me, Kawasaki-sensei." Y/N says with a playful bow.

"Hey, what was that bow for? And 'sensei'? Really?"

"Eh, was hoping for a reaction to come out of you. I was hoping for a blush," Y/N bluntly states.

"Well, you didn't get one."

There didn't seem to be any more topics to talk about, so now the two of them were looking out the window. Since it was the season of winter at the moment, it was very cold.

But right now, it was snowing. Accompanied with the yellow lit lights from the buildings and street lamps, it looked to be a normal looking scenery. It was just missing the Christmas decorations to look good at the nighttime scenery.

Saki took a sip out of her hot cocoa cup, looking to Y/N, who was still looking out the window. It was then her turn to ask a question.

"Hey..."

Y/N looks to his girlfriend. "Yeah?"

"...Do you know what you want to do in the future?"

"What brought this on?"

"Just wondering. It's just... I haven't figure out what I want to do yet. At the very least, I just don't want to be a burden to my family when I head off for college. Yuzu, Setsuna-nee, and Itsuki-nii keep bugging me on how I can always ask them for money, but I don't want to burden them with my problems, too."

"They're just looking out for you. Just as family should," Y/N says with a small smile.

Saki returns the gesture. "I know. But they went through a tough time, and they've been trying to do all they can to repay all the help we've done for them. But they don't have too. It's like you said. We were just looking out for them, and we'll continue to do so."

"...Back to the question you said earlier. I wanted to travel the world and be a photographer of sorts."

"Huh?" Saki asks with slight curiousness in her voice.

"Yeah. Taking pictures or capturing any fond moments with a camera is one of dad's favorite past times. He loves doing that whenever we go on vacations."

"That seems nice."

"Yeah... But those family vacations are now a rarity. Ever since he's been called back over to the middle East, he hasn't been coming home recently. Hell, we haven't even received a single letter or phone call from him."

"Hey..." Saki puts a hand on top of Y/N's. "I'm sure he's fine. I'm sure he's thinking about you guys. Just as you're thinking about him."

Y/N chuckled. "Since when were you a motivator?"

"I try to be," Saki says with a laugh of her own.

"...Hey, I think I know what you could do in the future."

"You do?"

"Maybe a stay-at-home mom?" Y/N suggested.

The blueish-haired girl's eyes widen temporarily before they softened and she looked down. Her eyes were cast onto her hot cocoa cup, Saki gently rubbing her thumb on top of Y/N's own thumb.

"A stay-at-home mom, huh? ...Do you really think I'd be a good fit for that?"

"I really think so." Y/N smiled.

Saki smiles as well. "I'll take your word for it, then."

---

It was now around ten o'clock at night, Y/N walking Saki home. The two were walking side by side, Y/N taking a small glance at her.

Despite her wearing a light winter jacket and a scarf, Saki seemed to be cold. He then took the initiative to bring an arm around her, wrapping her in a side hug as she was caught off guard. She looked up at him, confused at the action.

But Y/N simply smiled and nodded, Saki nodding as well. She leans into the side embrace, slowly closing her eyes. She thought one thing.

'It's warm.'

Twenty minutes pass by and the two arrive at the Kawasaki household. Saki stopped in front of her doorway, turning around and giving a shy wave to the Shiozaki boy.

Y/N waved as well, him turning around so he could head home. But he was quickly stopped, him turning around as Saki had lunged forward and planted her lips on his, Y/N soon leaning into it. It went on for a good few minutes before they released it.

A red hue coated Saki's face as she stepped back away from him.

"Um...thanks. For taking me out tonight. It was fun."

"...You're welcome."

"A-Anyway, uh, good night."

"Uh, yeah. Night, Saki."

The two give each other an awkward hug, Saki fumbling around with her keys before she opened the door to her house and stepping inside. She then leaned up against the door, taking a few deep breaths, thinking back to what just happened today.

She then heard footsteps, looking up to see Yuzuru standing at the entrance of the hallway.

"So, how did it go? Did you have fun?" Yuzuru asked. He was quite eager to hear the details.

"Yeah... It was fun. It felt...weird, but also... Something like I've never felt before. It was...nice."

"Wanna talk about it?"

"Sure, I guess. Just don't tell Setsuna-nee. I don't want to deal with her teasing."

Setsuna's voice then rang from the living room. "Oh, what's this I smell? Is that love in the air?~"

Saki sighed. "Great."

Yuzuru grinned as he made way for the living room, "Well, come on. Don't keep all the details to yourself."

"Yeah, yeah..."
