1| Run-In With The Goddess

Originally, this chapter was going to be the Sports Festival, but that happens after the Cultural Festival. And I said Y/N or "Arata Shiozaki" had joined during the Spring.

Chronologically, the Summer break area is in August and the Cultural Festival is in September, as well as the Sports Festival. So the next few chapters from here are going to be original, so they will take some time and will be quite "shit." They may be good, idk. I just hope you enjoy it.

---

A few days had passed and Y/N had adjusted himself quite well in the school. He didn't have too many friends, which is something he was fine with. He had made good friends with the boys of Hayato Hayama's clique.

Becoming friends with him was quite fine. This went hand-in hand in terms of clubs. While Y/N was good at running and doing track, he decided not to do any sports this year. But, he did do stand-ins for any soccer games they had or any track runs. More of a substitute of sorts. But over the few days of spending time at school, he found key points he'd like to take pictures or sketch. What people were surprised were was that, Y/N was quite the artist and photographer.

Sometimes, people would find him outside in interesting places, him standing somewhere to capture a picture, or sitting in a shaded area to sketch the desired location. Some people would actually head to Y/N for commissioned work, the blonde teen sketching them in certain places for a good amount of money.

Currently, it was near the end of the day. Y/N was packing up his stuff when Hayato and Tobe walked up to him.

"Shiozaki-san, are you free today?"

Y/N shook his head, "Sorry, man. I've got to run down to the school library to print something off then head home."

"That's fine. See you tomorrow, Shiozaki-san."

"See ya dude!"

The blonde teen waves goodbye as the orange haired and blonde haired teens said goodbye to him. Packing his stuff up completely, he slings his school bag over his shoulder, making his way out the door.

As he begins to roam the halls, headphones in his ears, he begins to mind his own business. Since coming to this school, he's had a better time than he did in America. The only thing he found enjoyable was when he did track competitions for his school, hanging out with his friends, the usual. Sure, it was pretty much the same thing here, but the teacher he had for his class was actually better than the one he had in his old school. Not only that, his old teacher would give him flak if Y/N didn't address him as "professor." He found it annoying.

Arriving at the library, he stepped inside. He went to the front desk and requested the paper he needed to be printed. Each paper that was printed was about a hundred yen, Y/N printing three. In turn, he paid at least three dollars in US money. Thanking the person, he turned around and went for the door.

Putting his hand on the doorknob, he opens it, unaware of the fact that he hit someone. He heard the thud and someone was knocked to the floor.

"Ow...what the hell, jackass?"

"Shit. Sorry about that...huh?"

The person he had knocked down was the same person he knocked down on his first day here. The blueish-haired girl was rubbing her forehead, presumably where the door had hit her.

Y/N extends his hand, "Here, let me help."

"I can get up on my own."

The girl pushes herself off the floor and begins to shove past Y/N. Y/N didn't want to leave a bad impression on her, so he called out to her.

"Hey. Let me make it up to you somehow."

"Oh, yeah? How're you going to do that", the girl asks with raised eyebrows.

"You hungry? I can take you down to a local cafe or something. My treat."

The girl shakes her head. "No thanks. I've gotta head home. See ya."

"Look, it's just an apology for what happened. It's nothing special."

The girl then sighs, "Fine. Lead the way."

"Yeah, just follow me...uh...?"

"Kawasaki. Saki Kawasaki."

'That's right. Here, you're really not supposed to be on a first name basis here.', Y/N thought to himself. "Shiozaki. Y/N Shiozaki."

"So, are we going to go, or?"

"Oh, right. Follow me."

The blonde haired teen grabs the blueish haired girl by the hand. This takes her aback, her blushing profusely as she looks at him wide-eyed.

"H-Hey!"

"Don't worry. This is just so you don't get lost. Just bear with it, okay?"

"F-Fine."

As they walked out of the school, Saki noticed that they were receiving some curious stares. Some of the females of the school were giving her a look of jealousy. Sure, Y/N didn't compare to her cousin, Yuzuru or the other prince, Hayato, Y/N was still good looking. He had bright blue eyes that complimented his spiky blonde hair.

Although, with the two holding hands, this was bound to cause some controversy and gossip. She tries to hide her face, her continuing to walk with the Shiozaki boy.

With an hour now passed, the two had gone to a local cafe that wasn't too far from the school. The girl awkwardly shuffled in her seat as Y/N rested his head on his hand, scrolling through his phone as they waited for their food. The blueish-haired girl looked up slightly, her pigeon blue eyes seeing the bullet casing that hung from Y/N's neck.

"What's that?", the girl pointed to Y/N's neck.

"Oh, this? It's something I got from my dad. He's not around too much, since he's in active duty for America."

"So, did he get that from one of his missions or something?"

"Yeah. He said he picked this up as he and his buddies were in bunker, hiding from an air raid or something. Kept telling me that a shit ton of bombs were exploding on the surface."

"Must've been tough for him."

"I suppose. Though, his coping mechanism is knowing he'll come back home safely to my mom, my sister, and I.", Y/N says, fiddling with the casing.

"Home life must be tough then.", Saki says. Although, she could relate. Somewhat.

"Eh, it's not too bad. My sister is annoying sometimes, but she can be a fun little goofball."

"From what you're saying, she reminds me of my older cousin. She can be crazy sometimes."

"Well, that's what family does to ya. You know, you kinda argue over something stupid and don't talk to each other, but in the end, everything ends well and you're back to talking to each other. You know?"

"Y-Yeah, I guess...", Saki says with a slight blush, fiddling with her bangs.

After a while, their food had come by. It was something simple, something wasn't too big nor too small for an appetite. With their little treat over and done with, Y/N offered to walk Saki home.

Albeit a little shy, she sighed and accepted it anyway. She could tell that Y/N meant well and seemed to be a nice guy, but she wasn't sure why he was going so far to do this. All she knew was that her cousin was probably going to be on her ass asking about this whole ordeal. To her, it'd be better to just play it off like nothing had been happening. They then arrive at the blueish-haired girl's home.

"Well, this is my stop."

"Yeah. Well, uh, see you tomorrow."

"Y-Yeah..."

The blonde nodded at the girl as she nodded back shyly. As he turned around, taking a few steps away, the girl called out to him.

"Hey!"

Y/N turns around, confused, "Yeah?"

"I just wanna...say thanks. You know, for walking me home."

"Yeah...no...no problem at all."

"A-Anyway. G-Good night!"

The girl then rushes inside her house, slamming the door behind her. Y/N was left overly confused, but shrugged it off, humming to himself as he went home for the night.

On Saki's end, however, this was the first time a boy had done this. Aside from her cousins, she hadn't had a boy take her out for a treat as an apology nor has she held another boy's hand. For some reason, it caused her heart to flutter a bit. She didn't want to conclude it was that feeling, but she decided to just ignore for now. Her main goal was to focus on her family. Her family was her top priority and she had to take care of them.

Not only that, she had her cousin to look after. She knew what had happened to him that day, and he essentially became a different person. Different from what he used to be when they were much younger.

---

It was around 9PM that night, Y/N walking up the steps to the small house his mother, him, and his sister live in. Fishing out the house key from his bag, he unlocks the door, the lights to the living room still on.

There, he finds his younger sister, who is in middle school, sitting on the couch, watching TV. Y/N's younger sister was in her last year of middle school, a girl with auburn hair and brownish-yellowish eyes. And for a middle schooler, she was quite tall, maybe an inch or two shorter than Y/N himself. Then again, the girl was active one, quite avid in basketball. This is Akari Shiozki.

(A/N): Think of Akari Hyuuga from Bloom Into You. I just like the designs of the characters from that anime/manga.

Akari smiles, "Hey, bro."

"Shouldn't you be asleep? Where's mom?"

"Mom's still at work. And besides, it's no big deal. It's not like I've got a test tomorrow, or anything."

"But you do have a field trip. Make sure you wash up and get your things ready."

"You know, you don't have to do all this, you know? I can do these myself."

"Your messy room from this morning begs to differ. Didn't I tell you to fix your bed and your things before you left the house?"

"Sorry! I was late for school!" Akari says, raising her arms up defensively.

Y/N sighs, "This is why I keep telling you to go sleep early. Whatever. Just go get your things ready."

"Aye, aye, cap'n!"

The girl shoots herself off the couch, marching her way up the stairs and heading to her room. Y/N threw his bag over to the coat rack, the sling of the bag landing perfectly on one of the pegs. Sitting down, he lets out a long sigh, tired from the day.

He looked to the pictures that sat on the table near the doorway. The most distinct one was the family photo on the left end of the table. Like Y/N, their father had blonde hair, although it wasn't spiky like Y/N's. He also had the bright blue eyes Y/N has. Their mother had the features of Akari as well, although she was the shortest out of all of them. Y/N's father was around 6'2", Y/N is 6'0", Akari around 5'8" or 5'9", and their mother being around 5'2".

Gazing at the picture, his mind wandered down to the encounter he had today with that girl. Saki Kawasaki, the same person he had bumped into on his first day. The girl he considered cute and adorable, which she was. As he day dreamed, Akari had went downstairs and noticed his content grin. Gaining a mischievous one, she crept up in front of him and flicked his forehead, the teen snapping out his trance and looking at his younger sister, annoyed.

"The hell was that for?"

"What's with that grin? Don't tell me you got another girlfriend already.~"

"No, I didn't. Now can go to sleep already?"

"No! I want to hear all about the juicy news! So?~ Who is it? What does she look like? You got a crush on her?~"

"Ugh. You're so damn annoying. Get over here!"

"Never!", Akari exclaims with a smile on her face.

Y/N begins to chase his sister around the house, annoyed by all the questions she asked. But he loved his sister and the way she acted, their home would have never been the same.

Akari appreciated on how her brother took care of her. When their mother wasn't home, he would be the one managing all the chores and everything. He'd cook dinner, do the dishes, all while Akari was off doing her own thing. As much as she would like to help, Y/N handled everything by himself. He was a hard worker and did as much as he could to help keep the family stable.

While their mother was already earning of money, since she was a nurse and their father was in the military and was being paid well, they were well supplied with wealth. But, with their school and Y/N having to think about college, since he'll be a third year next year, he needed to think about his future. Y/N dreams of being a photographer, but he knew that some photo jobs don't pay well, and he was willing to work himself to the bone so Akari could get into a good school with a greater education than his own. That's how much Y/N cared for her. Akari was quite thankful for that, but she wished for her brother to think of himself sometimes, and not just her.

However, she had a feeling that this girl Y/N was thinking of could help fix this little problem of his. Not only that, the two had similar problems themselves.
