Bète Ricks POV.

Man I feel exhausted. Running so much these passed few days has taken a lot out of us all.

I know Alpha George feels the same way, but he's better at hiding it. I look over at him while we're waiting by the door.

" Do you think this Alpha is going to accept the offer to help us?" I ask.

He looked at me and smiles a soft smile. " Honestly, I don't expect him to. He is young and new to this, he is also still grieving. He has a lot on his shoulders right now, so I don't expect him to accept. However, it is still worth asking. " says Alpha George.

I merely nod in response. Alpha George is a wise and kind Alpha, but he's also stern and intimidating when he needs to be.

I'm thankful I ended up in his pack. My mate has always been a part of his pack and he took me in so to the mate bond.

I hated leaving my only two friends, but when it comes to my mate I would do anything for her.

I'm proud of my daughter and who she has become. Connor is a great mate to her. I only wish things had gone differently for Fenris.

I'm furious at him for nearly killing my daughter, but I wish there was a way for him to redeem himself and see that what he's doing is wrong.

Then there's this threat of a pack war that is completely meaningless. Alpha Conan needs to understand his son is innocent, but he's always been so stubborn. Hopefully he will come to his senses before blood is shed.

" Rick, are you ok? " asks Alpha George.

I look back at him. " I have a lot on my mind is all." I say.

" Your stressing about everything that's been going on. I understand. " he says. I nod in response.

" Sit down and rest. " he all but orders is a kind voice.

" Yes Alpha. " I say. I sit in a chair that was close by and sigh in relief as the pressure is taken off my  feet.

We wait there for almost a hour before the door opens and a few pack members walk out passed us.

" Alpha George, come in. " snaps the voice that could only belong to Alpha Anthony.

I almost grow at his order as I get up. We walk in together. We right away spot him sitting in the Alpha's seat.

He was leaning to the side, looking so bored and irritated. He growls at me before nodded and the doors shut behind us.

He must not have been expecting me to come in with him. I already do not like this Alpha.

" Well what are you waiting for?! Get here to the middle of the room so I can see you or leave!!" He snarls.

Anger rises within me. I then feel Alpha George's hand on my back. " Calm down. " he orders.

I nod. " Yes Alpha. " we walk into the middle of the room.

" Ok, so why are you here? " he sighed.

" We are here on behalf of our pack and another's to prevent a pack war from happening. " says Alpha George.

" Why is this pack war any of my concern?" He growled. My anger grows at the way he is talking to Alpha George.

" It's not Alpha Anthony. We are merely asking if you would be a part of our side to help talk to the other side and prevent this from happening. " says Alpha George.

" Before I even answer you, why is this pack war even happening?" He asked.

" We are protecting a young future Alpha from being killed by his father for a crime he didn't commit. " says Alpha George.

" Are you talking about Alpha  Conan's kid? " he asked.

We both nodded. " Yes we are. " replied Aloha George.

Alpha Anthony looks intrigued now. " I heard about that kid. I thought the story was insane. Good to know it's not true. " says Alpha Anthony.

" You believe us?" Asks Alpha George.

" Yes I do. " replies Alpha Anthony.

" So does that mean you'll help us. " asks Alpha George.

" No. " he stated.

The two of us stated at him shocked. " No, why not?" I all but growl before I can stop myself. Alpha George shoots me a disapproving glare and I back down bowing my head in respect at him.

" Sorry Alpha Anthony. " I say.

" Forgive my Bète. He's got a bit of a short temper when he's exhausted. " says Alpha George.

" I do not approve of the way he spoke to me. I will answer his question though. " he says.

I don't dare lift my head back up. I merely listen. " I cannot help you because I have many things I need to settle in my own pack. Lots of work needs to be done and I need to handle a few things my parents were in the middle of when they died. " he says.

" Thank you Alpha Anthony for listening to us. If you ever need help, don't hesitate to ask us. " says Alpha George.

" Thank you for the offer Alpha. I will keep that in mind. Bète, look at me!! " he snapped.

I hate the power other Alpha's hold. I'm powerless against it.

I look up at him. " I ought to lock you in the packs prison for speaking to me that way and without permission. " he snarled.

I flinch back, unable to help it. " I cannot since you are not a trespasser and not part of my pack. However, you are not to speak to me again without permission from me and your Alpha. Do I make myself clear!! " he snarled.

" Yes Alpha Anthony. " I say. Again I say, I hate the power other Alpha's hold.

" You all are welcome to eat a small meal before heading out and I wish you luck with this pack war. To the young Alpha  if I could help, I would. You are free to leave. " says Alpha Anthony.

We nod. " Thank you Alpha Anthony. " we then turn and exit the room.

My head is back down again. I can't believe I let my anger get the best of me. I just couldn't stand the way he was speaking to us.

" Look at me Rick. " says Alpha George.

I looked at him. " It's ok and your forgiven for the way you acted in there. Control your temper better next time ok. Your a Bète. Act like it. " he said.

I nod in response. " Thank you Alpha. " I say.

He smiles at me. " Now lets go gather the others and get some food before hitting the road again. " he says and I nod in repose.

The two of us them walk off in search for the others.
