第2部分

I took it home with me last night. His journal. I never read it though. I remember almost opening it, but I never did.

But I remember this day like the back of my hand.

One of the best days of my life.
This is what happened the day after we met.

I sat under my blossom tree.

I wore white toms, kinda skinny jeans, a blue sweater, and I had on a white flower crown. I made those a lot.

Daniels book was to my right, and mine was in my lap. I was finishing the birch tree.

I heard someone coming.
I looked over a little to the right and saw someone coming up the path.

I looked back down at my journal and proceeded to draw until I heard the footsteps get louder.

I saw Daniel, he was look upset. He was also keeping his eyes on the path like he was looking for something.
Oh, yeah!

"D-daniel!"
I said catching his attention.
"Oh, hey pretty boy"
He smiled. Pretty. Pretty boy.

I held up his journal and his eyes lit up.

"Yay!"
He said smiling.
He walked to me and I handed him his book.

"Thank you"
He said, still smiling. Does he ever stop smiling?

"No problem"
I replied quietly.
I expected him to leave, but instead he sat down in front of me. He had s cheeky grin on his face.

"W-what?" I nervously asked him.
I thought he was maybe laughing at me.

"You're cute"
He said. I felt my cheeks go red.
This is so embarrassing.

"Okay" was all I could come up with.
"What's in your journal?"
He asked me, changing his gaze to my book.

I never showed anyone my drawings.

I closed it quickly.
"N-nothing" I said.
He looked at me for a second. Then at my journal, then back at me, then at my journal.

He quickly grabbed it from me.
I wasn't about to fight him, so I was just going to accept the insult that he would throw at my sucky pictures.

I didn't look at his face.
I just watched the pages turn.

These are the ones he actually saw before I grabbed it back.

Birch

Maple

Cherry blossom

I quickly grabbed it back and closed it.

"You're really good at drawing"
He said with am amazed look on his face.

That's odd. It wasn't what I was expecting.

"N-no"
I said quietly.
"No, seriously. They're really good"
He said again.

"W-what's in yours?" I asked changing the subject.

"Poems"
He definitely didn't seem like the poetic type. Then again, I'm not sure if I seemed like the tree lover type.
"Poems?" I questioned. He chuckled but nodded.

"Mhm." He said. He opened his book and passed it to me.

And I read the first poem.

Nature, ballistic

Our physical world, respect and explore,
Where water meets land; a beautiful shore.
Mountains we conquer, look down in awe,
If you're an artist, make sure you draw.

Nature exciting, adventurously new,
Much more to see, than a sky that is blue.
It offers so much, open your eyes,
Hope of today, with every sunrise.

Nature shall feed, body and soul,
Some call it home, others a hole.
Memories are nurtured, when nature reveals,
Sharing its pleasures, amazing it feels.

I was completely amazed.
I looked up at him. He really didn't look like someone who'd write this.

I looked at the other page and read another.

Mountains

Stretch above land, into their peak,
It is the sky, they constantly seek.
In the far distance, we notice their height,
A view from the top - spectacular site!

Closely positioned, to form a range,
Human eyes, won't notice them change.
Not a prisoner, to immediate time,
Challenges many; unforgiving climb.

So much more, beyond their beauty,
Sheltering species, that is their duty,
Mountains are members, of the nature we know,
Way at the top, they often have snow.

"These are beautiful"
I said, handing back his book.
He murmured something, but I didn't pick it up.

"Thanks"
He smiled. I picked up my journal again, and started a new drawing. 2 trees. A blossom and an oak.

He started to write.
It's wasn't awkward, surprisingly. I was comfortable around him. Which is weird cause we literally met the day before.

After an hour I think, I actually finished. Not anything big, but I got a random burst of inspiration.
I wondered where it came from.

"You're literally so amazing at drawing"
He told me, looking amazed at the page.

I really am not that good. I always assumed it was average. Maybe Daniel has never seen someone draw before? Doubtful.

I shrugged my shoulders a bit.

"Meh" I mumbled.
"No, really." He said, still staring at my drawing.

"Thanks" I quietly replied.

I looked up at the sky. It was changing colors. Sunset.

"Well, I need to bounce."
I stood up, and actually decided on taking my journal home with me. I had all of these ideas coming out of nowhere.

"Later, blossom boy"
He said, beginning to write again.
"Goodbye, Shakespeare"
I chuckled. And began to walk home.

I opened up my journal as I walked.
I was about to put the pencil in it to mark my place, but I saw something catch my eye.

A number.

***-***-****
Call me, pretty boy. ;)

When did he put that there?

He must've written it in when I wasn't paying attention.

I closed my book again, and walked on the quiet path as the warm air peaceful blew.

This was nice.
