Chapter 29

Angshi’s heart was a storm of emotions. She paced back and forth in her room, her thoughts tangled, her mind restless. The room was still, save for the occasional sound of her anklets softly jingling with each step. Her eyes kept darting to the small shrine in the corner, where a small Shivling rested, the sacred symbol of Lord Shiva. It had always been her source of comfort and connection, a silent companion to whom she’d shared countless unspoken thoughts. But tonight, she felt a deep urge to speak, to pour out all the feelings that had been building up inside her for days.

Her fingers lightly brushed  the edges of her shawl, the fabric clinging to her skin, but it didn’t bring the comfort she sought. She glanced out the window, the cool evening breeze barely touching her skin, and yet she felt suffocated, as though her own feelings were closing in on her. But then her eyes feel on the bright shinning moon, which was a kind of inviting her. With a steadying breath, she turned towards the door, the sense of urgency within her swelling like a tide. Tonight, she would speak to the moon, to Shiva, to the universe. She had to, or the weight in her heart would consume her.

The moon hung high in the velvet sky, its silvery light spilling over the terrace. The soft chirping of crickets blended with the faint rustling of the wind. Angshi, wrapped in her shawl, paced restlessly, her heart heavy yet brimming with emotions she couldn’t contain anymore. She stopped near the edge, looking up at the moon with teary eyes. Taking a deep breath, she folded her hands, as if greeting the moon, and began  to speak softly,"Shivling ke samne apne dil ki baat bolna chah rahi thi, par wo toh abhi yahaan nahi hai... Toh tumse baat kar rahi hoon. Tum jaante ho na, ki dil mein jo baat daba ke rakhi jaaye, wo kitni chubhti hai?"

Her voice softened, filled with a tender yearning as she looked away briefly, her thoughts consumed by Taehyung’s face. "Taehyung... woh ek ajeeb sa sukoon deta hai mujhe, ek shanti, jo maine pehle kabhi mehsoos nahi kiya tha. Par uske saath hone par, mera dil itna tez dhadakta hai ki kabhi kabhi lagta hai, yeh mujhe samajh nahi paa raha ya main isse samjh nahi pa rahi hu."

She placed her hand over her chest as if trying to calm her beating heart, "Main usse apne dil ki baat kaise kahoon, chaand? Mujhe dar lagta hai...ki agar kah diya aur unhe sirf main shayad pasand hu, aur uske mujhe mana kar diya toh... Lekin agar nahi kaha, toh yeh ehsaas mujhe jeene bhi nahi degi."

Her eyes sparkled with a mix of fear and hope. She clasped her hands together tightly, as though making a prayer. "Shiva ji, jis tarah ap aur parvati ma mile...jis tarah ap dono ki prem kahani amar hai...kya mera ye ishq, mohabbat, prem ,pyar jo bhi kahiye saccha hai toh...toh unke dil ki baatein mere dil tak le aaiye. Aur agar unka dil aise hi sukoon paata hai mere paas, toh mujhe ek ishara dijiye...srif ek..ishara...kuch bhi...kuch bhi jisse main samajh pau ki wo bhi mere liye wahi mehsoos karye hai jo main karti hu aur jis tarah se main karti hu."

The moonlight reflected in her watery eyes as a sudden gust of wind embraced her, sending a gentle chill down her spine. She took it as a response, a sign. As she stood there, staring at the glowing moon, she felt a sense of calm wash over her, as if her message had been heard. Her lips curved into a faint smile, and she whispered softly: "Chaand, meri baat Shiva ji tak pohchai hain na..??Unse kehna, mujhe unke jawab ka intezaar rahega... hamesha."

The quiet corridors of the hotel were dimly lit, casting long shadows on the walls. Taehyung, still in his casual evening attire, knocked gently on Angshi’s door. When there was no response, he pushed it open, his heart sinking slightly when he found the room empty. The faint fragrance of her perfume lingered in the air, teasing his senses.

He sighed, running a hand through his hair, his restlessness growing. Just as he turned to leave, a faint, rhythmic sound reached his ears—the soft jingling of anklets, carried by the night breeze. His brows furrowed, his heart skipping a beat as he instinctively followed the sound.

The melody grew louder as he ascended the stairs to the terrace. The moonlight spilled over the stone floor, and there she was—Angshi. Her eyes were closed, her movements fluid like the wind, her anklets singing with every step. She swayed to the rhythm of her own voice, soft yet hauntingly beautiful, singing the song....

Tu hi yeh mujhko bata de
Chaahoon main ya na....
Apne tu dil ka pata de
Chaahoon main ya na...

Itna bata doon tujhko
Chaahat pe apni mujhko
Yoon toh nahin ikhtiyaar.....
Phir bhi yeh socha dil ne
Ab jo lagi hoon milne....

Poochhoon tujhe ek baar, oh..ohh....
Tu hi yeh mujhko bata de
Chaahoon main ya na....
Mm....

Apne tu dil ka pata..de...
Chaahoon main ya na....

Taehyung froze in the doorway, his breath catching in his throat. The sight of her, bathed in the silver light of the moon, captivated him entirely. Her delicate hands moved gracefully, her hair flowing like a river, her face serene yet filled with a depth of emotion he longed to understand.

Taehyung's thoughts (internal):
"Angshi... you’re pure magic. How do you always manage to make me feel so deeply? Without you, not a single moment feels at peace. And with you, it feels like every void in the world has been filled."

He took a step closer, careful not to disturb her, but the intensity of his gaze seemed to reach her. He wasn’t quite sure of the words, but the music spoke to him in a way he couldn’t explain. He began humming softly, the tune of the song blending with the night.

Angshi paused, sensing the vibration of his presence. She opened her eyes and caught his gaze. For a moment, she felt a connection she couldn’t quite place. Her heart raced as she stood still, her breath catching in the air, still looking at the moon facing back to him. She can feel his gaze on her and a soft feet ruffling indicating his steps towards her. As she decided to tell him all, she looked at moon and a soft wind passed her giving her the permission. She took a deep breath, her emotions swirling like the melody. She couldn’t help but let her voice slip out as she turned to face him, her eyes shimmering in the moonlight.

Aisi kabhi pehle
Huyi na thi khwahishein....

Ohhh.....kisi se bhi
Milne ki na ki thi koshishein...

Uljhan meri suljha de
Chaahoon main ya na
Aankhon-aankhon mein jata de
Chaahoon main ya na....

Taehyung smiled, the warmth in his eyes reflecting the gentle moonlight. His voice was soft, yet there was a deep sincerity in it as he replied, his words laced with an emotion he could no longer keep inside. He hold her hands close to his heart "Angshi," and he began, his eyes locking with hers, "you know, I’ve never been the type to chase after anyone...for anything ever...I’ve always kept my distances, never really wanting to step into something I wasn’t sure of. But you..." He paused, letting out a small, nervous chuckle, "you’re different."

Taking a deep breath, he continued, "I’ve never felt this urge to truly know someone, to be close, to try and make them see me for who I really am. I never tried...not even thought  until it was you."

He leaned forward slightly, his voice softening, "But with you, Angshi, it’s like there’s this constant pull. You’ve made me question things I never thought I would.Am I falling for you...?? I can’t even tell anymore. Maybe you can see it in my eyes, maybe you can feel it too."

He looked down for a moment, his long lashes casting shadows over his cheeks, before meeting her gaze again. "Angshi, if I’m honest... I think I’ve already fallen. But I need you to tell me... do you feel the same?

The intensity of his confession lingered in her chest, and she felt her heart pounding with emotions she could no longer hide. As a gentle melody played in her mind, she stepped closer to him, her every movement graceful and deliberate.

Placing her hand on his shoulder, she began, her voice soft and full of warmth, giving him the reply in english based on the lyrics :

Mere chhote-chhote khwaab hain...
Khwabon mein geet hain...
Geeton mein zindagi hai...
Chaahat hai, preet hai..

Abhi main na dekhoon khwaab woh
Jinmein na tu mile...
Le, khole honth maine
Ab tak the jo sile...

Mujhko na jitna mujhpe
Utna iss dil ko tujhpe
Hone laga aitbaar...ohhh

Tanha lamhon mein apne
Bunti hoon tere sapne
Tujhse hua mujhko pyaar ohhh
Poochhoongi tujhko kabhi na

Chaahoon main ya na...
Tere khwabon mein ab jeena
Chaahoon main kyun na....

Tu hi yeh mujhko bata de
Chaahoon main ya na....
Apne tu dil ka pata de
Chaahoon main ya na...

"My dreams, Taehyung, they’ve always been small, simple things— Dreams that hold songs, songs filled with life, love, and meaning. But now, I can’t imagine dreaming anything. If you’re not there in them."

Angshi swayed slightly, her hands brushing along his arm, tracing his presence as if grounding her words in his reality. "I’ve held my feelings back for so long, kept them locked away. But now, look— I’m opening up my heart, to you. Words spilling out like they’ve been waiting for you."

Her fingers lightly touched his face, her gaze steady and unwavering. "I’ve never trusted anyone this much. Not even myself. But my heart? It trusts you, Taehyung. Completely. In my quietest moments, I dream of you. You’ve become the center of my world."

She moved her hand to rest gently over his heart, feeling its steady rhythm as if it played a melody only she could hear. "I’ll never ask you to prove your love because I feel it in every look, every word. I want to live in your dreams, Taehyung because they’ve become my dreams too.
So tell me— Should I love you as much as I do?Or do you already feel it too? Show me your heart because mine belongs to you."

Her voice grew quieter, the moment filled with an unspoken promise. She stayed still, her hand over his heart, waiting for him to answer the question she already knew the answer to in her soul.

Taehyung stood still, every word Angshi spoke washing over him like a soft, melodic tide. Her touch on his face, shoulders, and finally resting on his heart sent waves of warmth through him. For a moment, he couldn’t speak—his heart, usually so composed, was pounding in a rhythm only she could create.

He placed his hand gently over hers, his fingers trembling slightly as he intertwined them with hers, holding them close to his chest. His deep eyes shimmered with unshed tears, and a soft, breathtaking smile curved his lips.

"Angshi," he said, his voice thick with emotion, "I thought I’d poured my heart out to you, but hearing your words... it’s like you’ve sung a melody my heart has been waiting for all along."

He took a step closer, his forehead now resting lightly against hers, his breath mingling with hers in the tender silence that followed. "I didn’t know it was possible to feel so seen, so deeply loved, until now. You’ve taken my fears, my hesitations, and replaced them with something... beautiful."

Taehyung’s free hand cupped her cheek, his thumb brushing away a tear she hadn’t realized she’d shed. "Every dream you spoke of... Angshi, they’re my dreams too now. You’ve filled the spaces in my heart I didn’t even know were empty."

His voice dropped to a whisper, trembling with the depth of his feelings. "I don’t need to tell you to love me, because I already feel it—here," he said, pressing her hand tighter against his chest. "And I want you to know, with every beat of my heart, I love you too. More than words can ever say, more than even this moment can hold."

He leaned in, placing the softest kiss on her forehead, as if sealing his vow to her. Pulling back just enough to look into her eyes, he smiled, his voice a low murmur filled with devotion. "So let’s dream together, Angshi. Let’s make those songs, that life, that love, ours. Forever."

As the night deepened, Taehyung and Angshi laughed, sang their favorite songs in hushed voices, and swayed together, their movements gentle and unhurried, as if the world outside had faded away.

Taehyung twirled Angshi around, her shawl flowing like a delicate ribbon in the moonlit air. Finally, they sank onto the cozy sofa, their laughter giving way to a serene quiet. He wrapped her shawl snugly around both of them, his arms protectively holding her close. Angshi rested her head on his shoulder, her hand lightly over his heart, as his chin rested atop her head. Under the soft, glowing sky, with the faint hum of their shared melody lingering, they drifted into a peaceful sleep, their dreams now forever intertwined.

But life never gives you all happiness something was coming which neither of 6 them knew would be happening in their lives.
