===========
She can't even believe that she was joined by the strange clad red girl that barged in her home three days ago in a car heading to Beacon Academy.
Weiss kept telling this Ruby girl what she should and should not do when she was in the Schnee mansion. The heiress was generous enough to tell the girl what she should know about the modern days of Remnant.
Of course, she made her read thousands of articles in her scroll so she can catch up. Weiss believed the girl when she said that she was trapped for roughly 50 years. Since Ruby explained that she really was trapped in the vase, Weiss is just waiting for Ruby to explain why.
A young girl like her? Trapped? For what?
"Hey, Princess." Ruby nudged her out of a daze. "You're a Schnee, rich enough to stay and study in Atlas. Why did you come to Beacon?"
Weiss turned to the girl, her gaze turning to glare but softened to a frown. "It's none of your concern."
Ruby shifted in her seat, crossing her legs in the wide legroom of the Shnee girl's limo. "Sure is. I mean I'll stay close to you so eventually, you'll need to tell me."
"I was hoping that you'd stay away from me. I don't have to tell you anything." Weiss replied coldly, making a clear point. "You're not a friend."
"You don't have friends. Schnees don't really make friends easily." Ruby generalized, looking out the car's window.
Outraged, Weiss had half the mind to punch the girl squarely on her jaw but...she wasn't wrong.
"Shut up!" Weiss growled, frustrated. "Might I remind you, you're a freeloader."
"Yeah, sure. But if you kick me out, I head to the press and easily ruin your family's name." Ruby threatened. "Taking me in is the least you can do. Your family owes me."
I owe you nothing. Weiss thought to herself.
If she kicked the girl out, she won't give a damn to track her. If only she didn't have ulterior motives to ruin her family, she would have kicked her out by now.
The car came to a stop upon arriving at the top of the hill of Beacon. Weiss stepped out with her a sling bag and looked up the pristine building. It was impressive how Beacon looks so...
"Heh. Still so magnificent as ever." Ruby said next to her.
Weiss can't help but look at the girl's ensemble. Still red and it suited her so well. Her scythe was tucked away behind her and her cape still there. It was impressive how the girl can pull it off.
Her eyes didn't linger long on the vampire. She has other things to look at. Aside from the streams of students going in and out of buildings, most of them wearing uniforms, the architecture was most noble.
Weiss trudged in and headed to the Headmaster's office to finish her enrollment and add Ruby as well for the same classes as her.
Ruby looked around, looking for suspicious figures around them but mostly, they garnered stares. She figured that it isn't because of her. It's because of the Schnee Heiress.
Upon arriving at the headmaster's office, Weiss gave a polite bow to the man behind the desk who seems to be delighted with his mug of coffee.
"Weiss Schnee...is it?"
The heiress stepped forward. "Yes. I was told to proceed here for the enrollment by Professor Goodwitch."
Ruby smirked. Glynda Goodwitch is still here, huh?
"Ah, yes. It seems that you passed a late registration for another student aside from yourself. Might I know why?... And Who?" The man asked, his eyes looking at the heiress, with Ruby a little out of his peripheral vision, going unnoticed.
Weiss tried to look for a reason for adding Ruby's registration to hers the best she can but what does she consider Ruby..? What relationship do they have that was convincing enough?
"I have someone who came in late for the semester. I apologize for that. And...she personally wants to meet you. " Weiss explained, looking behind her.
Ruby came out of the shadows, smiling at the man.
"Professor Ozpin," Ruby smirked, delighted to see the eyes of the man widen ever so slightly. "I'll be in your care."
Ozpin looked at Weiss Schnee who seems to be nervous. He didn't know why the girl was with Red but it made him a little...anxious.
"Miss Schnee...I hope you know who she is." Ozpin warned, standing from behind his desk. With his cane in hand, he walked towards them carefully. "Who she truly is."
Weiss nodded. "Ruby Rose. She's..."
Despite the threat Ruby posed on to Ozpin, the man smiled slightly, amused. "I'm one of the people who imprisoned her. I know who she is."
"Good! No need for formalities then?" Ruby boldly asked, grinning. "How long has it been, Professor?"
Ozpin narrowed his eyes as if scanning the young girl if she was still a threat. No one really knows but the air around her made the man nervous. He did notice the same reaction from Weiss Schnee but it wasn't nervousness, it was tension. As if she was waiting for a bomb to come off. He left his observations in his head, taking in the news in front of him.
Weiss was in pure disbelief. She slapped the girl upside her head. "Formalities apply around me. Don't stain my name, Rose."
Ruby turned to Weiss, pouting in surrender. "Fine."
See, during the three days of educating Ruby about the modern times of Remnant, Weiss also did her best to get her to guard herself better around the girl. She was assertive, for sure! But Weiss pushed back harder whenever she did. Despite Ruby having more power to get Weiss to back down, the heiress was more stubborn and mature. Weiss put Ruby in her place.
"Miss Rose, I'll allow you to join Beacon but under one condition." Ozpin took another sip from his mug. "You will keep what you are. That you are not a full-fledged huntress and that you are a simple...human."
Ruby frowned, even Weiss seems to be doing the math, concluding that it's not adding up.
"Ozpin, I am a vampire. I drink blood aside from a normal diet. I can keep the other one but...Not the blood-sucking part." Ruby reasoned.
Ozpin looked at Weiss. "Miss Schnee..."
The girl did the math sure enough. She's the option for Ruby. She's Ruby's diet.
"Perhaps a few times but not forcibly or I will skewer you with my rapier. I swear if you pull that one on me, you will not get to my good side." Weiss stepped forward, volunteering for what she thinks is the only option for Ruby to survive this school.
"Miss Schnee, are you sure...?" The headmaster asked, just making sure while Ruby was beside her, smirking.
"I...I'm sure. This way no one will be hurt." She confirmed, nodding.
Ruby can't help but grin. "I hope you know what you're doing."
Oh, how the heiress hoped the same thing.
Seeing that they have arrived at an agreement, the headmaster signed their papers, gave them their scrolls and schedule.
"If there isn't any other issue, Miss Rose--please be discreet. Miss Schnee, the dorm option has been removed from your curriculum together with Miss Rose." The man affirmed, handing them their papers. "I hope that it doesn't bother you."
"Nah. She's got a huge house. A few minutes in the city." Ruby mentioned. Weiss nodded to confirm it.
At the very least, they know that they will be away from prying eyes if they were to live at the mansion. Weiss can be at ease that even if Ruby was to feed on her, none of the students of Beacon would know.
Weiss clutched her files, her mind in a daze. Oh, how cruel can her life be? The list of the possible things that make her dread just kept piling up in her head.
First: There is a huge chance that her father will come after her in Vale, pull her out of Beacon because of her act of running away from home. Second: Ruby might end up killing her by draining her blood. Third: She won't graduate because of the other two reasons.
The heiress wanted to cry but she held her ground. She need not shed a tear for things she can overcome.
"Classes are now in session but...you may start next week. Thank you for coming by to solve this..issue." Ozpin smiled gently at the girls.
Weiss smiled back. "Of course, professor."
Ruby delivered a playful salute before turning to the elevators, Weiss following behind.
Ozpin sat back at his desk as he looked at the ladies leave, silently wishing the heiress best of luck for her stay.
In the elevator, Weiss let out a breath of relief, positioning herself furthest away from Ruby. It made her rather nervous that she pulled that off. Although that went smoothly, a huge part of the girl wished that someone locked her away again. Who knows what in the world will the girl do to her with no prying eyes looking.
"Hey." Weiss jumped upon hearing Ruby speak. Her eyes of ice blue turned to her silver ones, wondering and dazed.
"W-what?" The elevator doors opened to the first floor of the main building. They both stepped out, walking back to the car.
"I mentioned something earlier." Ruby paused from her walk, looking at the young Schnee. "Since we'll be roommates, I thought I'd tell you."
Weiss IS wondering about that.
"Perhaps you should tell me. But.." Weiss continued walking to the car with a sad frown, eyes tired. "Let's just head home, Rose."
Ruby agreed. If anyone else were to hear her there, that would blow their cover. She joined the heiress shortly in the car and drove home with silence.
Was her company exhausting the girl? Ruby pondered on this for the whole ride. She didn't make the girl do so much physically but mentally? Emotionally? It must be a strain on her.
Upon arriving at the house, Weiss asked for a bath to be prepared in her quarters. She tugged on Ruby to follow her for a walk.
Weiss pulled Ruby in the parlor where they first met, locking the door behind them.
"Now...I'm all ears. Tell me your story." Weiss demanded as she sat upon the velvet red couch in front of the fireplace. She was waiting, anticipating...
"Who are you really, Ruby Rose?"
